posted a message on POLL :: Client Hacks Opinion
They're preventable and, if anything, should only be allowed to server admins. ... However, a large number of possible options hacking opens have no positive, useful purpose. The most "good" you can do is fly around quickly and automatically building pixel art, and that's still 'cheating' in a way since it takes as much effort as importing an image in Omen.

You're the only person here who hates me and everything I do, as open, honest, hardworking, and trying to be helpful about it all as I am. So what if I do a bit more than just ask for things and daydream, actually bothering to go out of my way to make things myself instead of wasting someone else's time?

... Tell me what I should do, then. I can't just sit around being useless.

Someone doesn't know what they're talking about, then. JavaScript is just a hackish client-side language thrown together by Microsoft for the sole purpose of confusing people interested in Java into learning and using it. Browser support for JavaScript varies wildly due to a lack of standards, but there are several scripts floating around specifically for 'fixing' it on various browsers. Mostly IE, which hates to do what it's supposed to.

The smallest map size that seems to show up on the client is 16x16x16, probably because that's Minecraft's size of a single sector.

It's a specialty of my server, a third kind of water which is neither active nor still. Makes no difference to the client, though...

I've been told that has to do with OpenSSL or something. No idea.

Also, this server is protected against spoofing attempts, as is my standard custom server. Three failed logins and you're ip banned automatically.

No, mapjack doesn't do it, OME's map editor has a "Replace all of this block type with another" button, remember? Takes two seconds.

posted a message on New kind of water climb

With my server allowing you to build water which can never flood, I've been able to easily build and test things using water in-game as much as I want.

This is a result I noticed, that one can climb water without actually being INSIDE the water if you start from inside a corner. Unfortunately, this seems to limit my "turning" ability to one direction, but you can still climb up and down and even have gaps in it like the one at the end. A challenging kind of water climb, wall climbing! Walter climbing!

Oh poo. It looks like it only works from two of the four sides after all, meaning there's even less than the ability to turn in one direction. Will need to mix with normal water climbing for full effectiveness...

The entire set of commands that even the highest level admins can use: @, /help, /rules (things considered 'cheating' and misc.), /howto (how to play), /color (color codes are still there), /me, /say, /op, /deop, /kick, /ban, /banip, /unban.

The rules are pretty much exactly the same as standard Spleef: No building, once you fall you're out and can't break anymore either, the map automatically reloads to build stairs to let you get back up and clear the Spleef platform, no hacking. Exception (1) is not implemented, currently, but there is a 2 minute timeout so the game won't get held up forever from that.

    I have no idea.

Usually I program things in C with SDL and such and they run perfectly in WINE, but this is something entirely different... It may have issues due to needing to extract files to a temporary directory.
