Why: We like building on vanilla smp servers. Our usual one just went down.
Best at: Building with Wood. Stac is best at mining.
Worst at: Redstone
How will we contribute: We will become semi-active members and won't be a security risk or a nuisance. We keep to ourselves but enjoy trading with other players so everyone gets what they need.
Hopefully you guys can use a couple more dancing potato friends to play on your server!
This is my second attempt at an application. I feel I've added a bit more depth and maybe rounded off a couple rough edges on my character. I've also changed all first person dialog to third person. I hope this is a little closer to what you're looking for.
Pre-Server RP Application #2:
-OOC-
MC Username: Honest_Hadden
Age: 27
Past experience with roleplay: I like it but don't do it a whole lot. Minecraft is a good outlet for this sort of thing. RP can make MC more immersive and I haven't seen any very good servers that do it yet.
MetaGaming?: When you use information unavailable to the senses your character posseses and using that information to influence your character's choices in RP.
Powergaming?: Ignoring RP elements when interacting with others or doings things that effect other players' characters without their consent.
-IC-
Name: Hadden (Honest Hadden is fine for a title if you guys don't do name changes; No first name.)
Age: 32
Race: Dwarf
Appearance: Shorter than a human. Wears light armor plates over leather pants and a shirtless upper torso. Very hairy with a beard, and a helmet rests on his head. A boot knife is strapped to his right leg, a satchel rests on his hip, and a sash with deep pockets hangs off of his upper torso.
Personality: Hadden is a neutral/good alignment if you were to categorize him into a D&D alignment axes. Everything he does is because it's what he believes is the most appropriate or fair response. He pays forward what's owed and retaliates when acted against. He has respect for law and the civility it allows society to engage in, but understands not all issues are black and white.
Abilities: Hadden is trained in basic combat with swords, axes, tracking and hunting with a bow, but does not excel to any impressive degree. His skills mostly lie in basic peasant labors of all kinds, with blacksmithing and magical item forging being his greatest skills.
Backround: Last of his line, Hadden roams the lands looking for work and building his impressive array of menial skills. A jack of all trades for peasant jobs, though showing promise in magical item forging, his life leads nowhere but he is satisfied with the day's work.
A plague fell his entire clan and left his home in sickly tainted ruin. Knowing of no other survivors, Hadden simply left for the closest village and travelled until he was no longer turned away by fearful townsfolk who had caught word of the terrible affliction that caused so many dwarve's deaths. Once having outrun the rumors, Hadden found refuge wherever he went due to his natural strength, stamina and skill with a forge. There was always work to be done in the villages, and always a bed and something to eat for those willing to work.
Life on the roads so far from all he knew had ground his enthusiasm for human contact to a functional but dull edge. He socializes enough to get what he needs but usually moves on before becoming accustomed to any town or village, or plagued by their problems. Though a victim of circumstance, Hadden never thought of his self as anything but a survivor and refused to feel sorry for himself. Through his hardship surfaced a sympathy for the plight of those helpless to their own situations, if he could lend a hand.
Blunt, clever, brave and even foolhardy at times, he plods through life doing what he feels is right; not tolerating injustice if it can be reasonably helped.

It looks really nice. I like how you're not afraid to make things asymmetrical. Most people need everything to be a reflection of the other sides of what they're doing for it to look "right". I find hardly any buildings are actually like that in reality so I make a point to have odd bits that add character to the shape of the build like it looks like you do.
Also good use of your environment. It looks really natural!
I wrote 2 full 55 page books called DragonQuest I and DragonQuest II. (I think that's how many... Whatever the maximum number of pages is allowed) I'm actually quite proud of them. They're part of a 5 part series but our world is gone so I'm not so sure I can get them anymore.
All the characters are loosely based off of people that play on our server. It's fantasy as heck. I might post them here if I can dig them up maybe, but I don't think it's really worth it unless I can figure out a simple way to do that.

I think the issues are plugin issues with 1.9. You might have to wait for them to patch it.

Does this server have any lore so far? A little bit of world history helps with RP. If it isn't established that's fine too. Just curious.
PS: I made a mine on the beach. I'll log back in when I get off work in about 7 hours or so and see if anyone is online.
