Landon1976 - I completely agree. once you find a potato they are very easy to get a large farm going. You knock all the potatoes out, replant, go to a furnace and throw the stack in and walk away. Once you do this a couple times you should have furnaces packed full of potatoes - It's very easy to get a chest full of baked potatoes - and if you want to make things easier just set up an automatic furnace
Hello all, I bought Minecraft for PC a number of years ago and played it when they used to support browser playing. I also got it for my PS4 when it launched and have been playing that version ever since. I recently got a great deal on a laptop so I figured I would load up the PC version since the PS$ version has become a bit stale for me. I want to add a few mods to make the game a bit more interesting, I haven't downloaded it yet so I am not sure which version I guess it would come with the newest 1.11? is there a way to get an older version? I will list a few things I am looking for and maybe you guys can help me put together a list of mods that will work with each other to achieve what I am looking for. Things I am looking for:
More food/crops to grow and harvest
More elements to mine and use for weapons, tools and armor (I saw someone was playing on youtube and was finding all kinds of different metal like copper etc.)
maybe a few more animals and enemies
New portals to different worlds (nothing crazy just a few different ones)
I am running this on an HP Pavilion laptop with an AMD A10-4600M with I think 8 gigs of ram - I know not a gaming rig by any means but a hell of a deal for only $25

Those look awesome, I may have to check them out at some point. The ones I was looking at today were for 1.7.10 and they were:
Metallurgy - Mining and tools
Agriculture - Food
Lots of mobs - Animals and 2 more dimensions
I have a feeling once I start adding mods there will be no end to this game for me
If I go the 1.8+ route I will try out the mods you suggested. Thanks
