We are proud to introduce Odyssey! Many people have spent the past few months planning out exactly what we felt was the perfect Minecraft Server. From this planning we decided to try and create a well thought out server with the atmosphere of an MMORPG. Being an MMO we plan to add Quests, Dungeons, have Towns, racial Capitals, and a storyline.

Currently, we are working on implementing Quests and Dungeons. You will be able to take part in a variety of events, hunt mobs for rewards, and create a town with your friends. We plan on adding new content weekly, so stay tuned for some exciting updates !

Guys, I have been browsing the forums lately and it seems that the minecraft community has been split in half by the 1.8/1.9 updates. here is my attempt to end this. To show everyone the other persons side, to respect each other, play however you like, and get this over with. I will not be taking sides in this forum to have an equal mediator.

"If you do not enjoy potions or villages or enchanting, then don't use them. Turn villages and strongholds off in world menu and your done. Also, just don't make potions and such and ignore the enchanting. Are you telling me one extra bar you can ignore is making you this angry? If so, that is somewhat sad."

"We do have a right to say our opinion you know. And the game is in beta, so we're supposed to give feedback. This way Notch can make the game so much better. And you say "well if you don't like it than downgrade" but we are almost forced to upgrade because of servers and the actual performance of the game engine does get better. There's also the chance that Notch will continue this craze and screw up minecraft. If you don't want to keep minecraft a good game, then just go off these forums."

Middle Man's View

I realize that these statements are somewhat exaggerated (maybe), but to someone who is caught in the middle of it, like myself, it really does sound like this. People going on and on left and right about who is right. I actually do like the idea of people talking about if they like the new features or not, but people just come along and start attacking the guy if they don't agree, and people who do agree with him start backing him up. It's ridiculous.

Personally, I really don't care. There are some things that I agree I like , but thats my opinion. I don't go out and flame it all over the forums. But you know what? i respect the other side of this conflict and their opinions. If we all thought the same, we would live on an extremely boring planet. Every person exactly alike. So minecraft would be too without opinions. And anyway, I remember I was going to hate pistons because everyone was making such a fuss, but I ended up enjoying them, which started my expertise in redstone.

I hope I really can change the communities outlook. Please post your thoughts down below on what YOU think. Not what the forum thinks.
