posted a message on Need Idees for epic Castle!
make it big, very big and unique, with everything a castle can have and maybe some stuff more (like having temple, farm and other stuff a castle done exactly have INSIDE its walls but usually around or at the courtyard. I made those inside the big tower that is 60% to 70% of the castle, the courtyard is both under-courtyard, that have the entrance to a mine and have the pillars that hold the castle, and upper-courtyard that take you to the castle and taking to the castle school (that I am building as I take back to play minecraft).

well, dont know if epic but I made a very big and unique one and, regardless of anyone else opinion about epicness or epic castle (and I know it is not colorful but I made it with this intention, based at 3 materials that have the same colors, stone, stone bricks and cobblestone for all the external walls and courtyard), this is the most epic build I ever made.

can check more of the external castle at 21:50 at the video:

will make a video of the inner castle soon (HD is full of videos of other game I have to convert from 3GB, thank u fraps for recording so large files, to 30MB so I cant record more videos and still had no time to convert the videos)

posted a message on How do people make such awesome mega-builds?
    Quote from Packerdan

Build little builds a lot, take your time on mega-builds, make sure there is lots of detail, there are tons of tips that builders could give you, I have two bits of advice:
1: Find your niche, some people can build amazing creative looking builds, some people are amazing with ships, others are amazing with castles. Personally I like to do a lot of medieval style builds. Find something that you're good at and then super-size it.

2: Use large creative servers, look around at other peoples mega builds, have good builders look at your builds and give you advice. Personally I prefer large free-builds with ranking systems based on how well you can build, but find something you like.

Also remember that most mega-builds are usually made up of a lot of smaller builds, using lots of detail on the smaller portions will add overall to the larger build.

Also remember that most mega-builds are usually made up of a lot of smaller builds, using lots of detail on the smaller portions will add overall to the larger build.
that is exactly what I wanted to say when I mentioned this:
if you gonna use many or several small structures, like detailed pillar, wall, girder or just detailed parts, make one or two as exampel and analyse it, is always better than making all the copies at creative and then decide you have to change details at all of them

build lines determining the inner rooms, make it easier to see if the external layout will fit the rooms you want

build room by room, and set inside details and parts, like table, chairs and other things like that, before you move out. it is easy to forget those things when you build things in a rush and leave some rooms without the details you wanted or planned before.

it is all "small details" you have to take care, or else the build will look dull when you get close.

some like to add 3D details, some like 2D details, some like a kind of texturized wall or 3D texturized wall, some just add 3D details but with the same material (like what I did to most of the external walls of the castle, but inside it is soemething else, where any rooms have texturized walls)

also, when you gonna build a huge build, tru top make it look good not only at the looks, but that you can really feel it is reliable, that it is not a giant set of walls without pillars and girders large and tough enough, also with proper shape, to be able to hold the build without it falling on its own weight. It can also be part of your 3D details and, if you gonna do that, it is better to first build this kind of detail before you set all walls. a kind of hard job but, if that is what you want and you want it to really look reliable, strong and tough, better set these details and apply floors and walls to it (or around them, maybe make the pillars and girders with the materials of the walls and floor, but make them on a way you can see it is there if that is your idea (or if the build is really big, because a pillar or girder that is the same width of the wall wouldnt be able to sustain the weigh of the build, pillars and girders, those that really sustain the floors and even more those that sustain the entire building, they always have more width than the walls, beinga sort of 3D detail that you can also add details to it, like using different materials for girders and pillars or add details attatched to pillars and girders with different materials or even make the them a detail, like an arc pillar that would work as both pillar and girder, a multi pillar, etc . . . you imagination for combination, changes of size and shape and what materials to use, details to add, is the limit)

well, plan the build overall external shape with a line (be it at the ground or air) and pillars to determine the size, so you can have an idea of its size compared to the other builds around.

then you start measurements (be it if you are creating it or making a real-life copy of a building/statue/2Dart) and set some marks to guide you

so you make the basic shapes and set the heights to check

if you gonna use many or several small structures, like detailed pillar, wall, girder or just detailed parts, make one or two as exampel and analyse it, is always better than making all the copies at creative and then decide you have to change details at all of them

and keep building and checking everything, inside and outside, to see if it is going as you wanted/planned and, if it is a creation, I would say, dont get grounded by the first idea, if you have a new idea and think it can make your build look better, start building, check, then if you think it is ok, then keep building, or else, just destroy the small thing you built and keep with the previous idea already planned

that is how I built everything in my world XD

posted a message on Nithou Kingdom
well, I was building the castle but a lot of the kingdom was already built.

now that the largest build of the kingdom is set and like 25% of its landmass is already covered with villages, I am posting it while I finish the kingdom (sure, if you want to give ideas of stuff to build at the kingdom, any idea will be much appreciated but I will build stuff accordingly to the way and style the rest of the kingdom was built. if its too different I will try to make it fit)

the castle with all the insides is here: http://www.minecraft...-nithou-castle/

another district, not completed yet. The closest district to the next kingdom, Farris. not the best in architecture and details, made on purpose, but I tried to give a bit of good design with the overall.
some houses, a hotel/restaurant and a small farm with a secret that demand a bit of exploration.

no insides images still everything is properly built as ever, ready to be played at survival or adventure

the lower part of the district is done, I will start the upper part of this district by the side of the bridge. I was thinking to take log houses to the upper part of this district and for the next district that would be between this one (posted at days 20/12/12 and 23/12/12, I post at the day/month/year format) and the previous one (posted at dates 16/11/12 and 13/12/12)

I am also reposting some of the places because I know it was dark and raining and I just was in a rush so I forgot to toggledownfall

    topic update: 26/12/2012

the upper par of the district. I will make it mostly log houses. there will be a temple/church, havent decided yet also havent decided the style and size of it but will be made of stones and maybe with some wood and logs, but still the houses have nothing inside yet but, as I dont know if in the next days I will have time for it and dont know when I will have time to take back, I will post it now

the base of the temple/church have two secrets and I kept the trees and all natural environment, also the pillars and girders there with it make a good maze to hide both secret chests. these secrets I spread all over my world are good for adventure mode and is the mode I will allow to play when I set the world to a server - sure, outside of my builds areas I will allow creative or survival, whatever the player want. I will just need to learn how to do that or to prevent areas from placing and destroying blocks and to change game mode to an area.

what was left of that district and a mansion (have the pool floor and the dinning/living/dancing room floor, the bedroom floor is not ready yet). mansion have a clear view of the upper part of the district so as the temple with the clock tower to one side and the pyramid to the other side (would have the castle view if it could reach another 200 blocks sight. wish it could, maybe with some minecraft update about the view range? checked the view with MCEdit and, look pretty cool)

Hello fellow crafters. Just posted our newest Minecraft Beetlejuice Rollercoaster on Youtube and I wanted to see what you guys thought. Built in CREATIVE MODE!

    Thanks a bunch!

    -nuropsych1

hell, that is the most impressive 3D build I ever seen (that wasnt made with a program that make the 3D models out of cad models or 3D studio models). You told the story of the movie with an animated rollercoaster baddass style with perfect 3D effects using inverted 3D for many objects and giving the right feeling of movements with the position of the rollercoaster. impressive, amazing!

posted a message on Outfitting A Pyramid: Build Contest
    here it is

tetrahedron pyramid (creative - its pretty empty now as, well, havent got that much time, neither idea, of what to place there):

pyramid (survival - first the pyramid outside and showing the exit - exit require lever to be pulled or else it is just a window and you cant exit - then showing the entrance through the mines, right under the pyramid. the very entrance is a trap that donw allow you to take back and you need to cross it pretty fast or else, you see the result at the image :D. Then showing the start of the tunnels and some parts of the rooms, with the levers - where you will see a room with several levers, some do nothing, just piston noise, some activate traps and just one activate the door you need. You will also not see the most secret lever that is required to move to the parkour set, yes, I will keep it secret for when I release at a server :D - , leading to the maze and the parkour set tryout with some redstone traps)
