Take an example from the villages: Take all that gravel and make a road today :)

    I vote... cauldron?

Cauldron was originally used for potions, but then the brewing stand was implemented as a different way of making potions. But, yes, now it is pointless.

Fixed it. Turns out it was caused by an invisible block from railcraft called residual heat. I fixed it by changing the block id to 0

i have a weird one as soon as i install railcraft i cant make a nether portal any more i have no id conflicts checked that all ready but it just wont light cant even spawn portal blocks in as soon as i add two to obsidian they are removed from world

Yes, I had this exact problem, as well as a lot of my pistons won't work. I spent the whole day trying to work out what mod was the problem, and all roads point here. I think it may be due to some invisble blocks, but I don't know.

I'm not going through, and adding the mods one at a time and testing the pistons each time, hoping to find the culprit.

Try asking on the bibliocraft forum, or PM the mod author, as you are more likely to get an informative answer there.

You could use Not Enough Items mod. It has a mob spawner section with different spawners

You get minecraft to update, then download optifine for 1.5.2, then re-install it

It looks like the mod "More Creeps and Weirdos" is causing your problem. I would say to post this on the forum page for that mod and ask for help there, the mod author may know what's up.

I would say back up your saves elsewhere, then delete your entire .minecraft folder in the AppData/Roaming folder, then re-download the launcher, and try from scratch. Then if that works, copy your saves back.

posted a message on Pistons sometimes won't work. [Fixed]
    Hi all,
I'm trying to use pistons on my modded client, and a lot of the time, they don't want to extend. If I move them elsewhere, they sometimes do extend, but if I move them back to where I need them, they won't again. I have checked that they would be able to extend under normal, vanilla circumstances, and they would. I think it may be a bug caused by a mod. My problem, I have absolutely no idea what mod it would be.

    I am using Minecraft 1.5.2

This is my list of mods

    Jar Mods
    ---------------
    Minecraft Forge 7.8.0.712
    Optifine 1.5.2 HDU D3

    Coremods
    ---------------
    CodeChickenCore 0.8.6.9
    CoFH Core 1.5.2.2
    NotEnoughItems 1.5.2.16

    Mods Folder
    ---------------
    Applied Energistics rv.10.n
    Ars Magica 5.52.003
    Bibliocraft 1.2.3
    Buildcraft 3.5.3 (30)
    ChickenChunks 1.3.2.9
    ComputerCraft 1.53
    Enderstorage 1.4.2.8
    Factorization 0.7.37
    Forestry 2.2.4.3 (545)
    Hats 1.3.1
    Inventory Tweaks 1.54b
    Iron Chest 5.2.1.284
    Natura 2.0
    NEIPlugins 1.0.8.13
    Railcraft 7.2.1.0
    Steve's Crats 2.0.0.a117
    Thaumcraft 3.0.5c
    ThaumicBees 1.4.7c
    Thermal Expansion 2.4.3.0
    Tinkers' Construct 1.3
    Vanilla Recipes 2.0.0
    Zan's Minimap 1.5.2

If anyone knows which of these mods may be affecting my pistons, or if it may be another issue, please let me know, this is bugging the bajeezes out of me.
    Thank you all in advance.

I don't know if this has been raised or not, I tried searching for it. When I craft seared bricks(block) I get the smeltery book, which of course is normal, but somehow, when I made some more seared bricks the next IRL day (Minecraft had been turned off), I got another book. I have not managed to reproduce this possible bug, but I thought that I would let it be known, just in case it has happened to others or they can replicate it.

TL:DR - I somehow managed to get 2 of the smeltery books by crafting the seared bricks multiple times.

    Quote from MinisterofOrigin

One of these two circuits should work, depending on which one suits your needs best. Or if anyone has any more compact versions, the circuit is called an ABBA Switch.

Thank you so much, this is working perfectly for me, i just had to link up the outputs both to a single NOT gate, and hey presto, it works! +1 for you

posted a message on Redstone power timing question (Power last, depower first)
I am making a 3x3 door, and it works perfect. What I am doing now is using a double piston extender to drop down a redstone block to power a redstone lamp in the middle of the door. For aesthetic effects, I want redstone block to drop down after the door has closed, and raise up before the door opens. I have worked out that for this to happen, it needs to be powered last, which is easy, but depowered first. The depowering is my problem. I don't know if it's possible without lots of messy redstone. If anyone knows how to do this, please tell me how. And bonnus points if it is compact as well. Thank you.

    Quote from ozzymud

Yea, as Forkk13 said, just rename it while MultiMC is closed, there is an "instgroups.json" file in your instances folder, if you edit the name to the new folder name in there, it will retain its group.

I hope this feature is added to MultiMC, I also like having my instance and folder names match :P

Thank you, I can't seem to find this "instgroups.json", but otherwise, it works alright.
