posted a message on Online 3D Schematic Builder - Brushes, Shaders, Terrain and Text Creator + Lots More - No downloads required!

I just played with this a bit. This is really handy, and within a browser too! I have it bookmarked now for a project im working on. Just a suggestion, not really a "needed" component, but making it so you can export your scene as an OBJ with UV's as well. Im not exactly the best animator in blender, but I could see others having a major use for a feature like that.

    cheers!

posted a message on 3D models to Minecraft!

I think from what I've been reading today (I've actually been researching this topic most of the evening), the model itself needs to be within quads and no Tris, as in each face should have 4 vertices. After that, it can be converted to a .JSON file? I'm not entirely sure the programming aspect of it, But that is how it was explained in my reading.

Hope that helps! I'm sure someone with more knowledge on this topic will pop in and probably fill in the blanks. Just make sure the model is cleaned though. No triangles, no nGons either ;)

    Cheers! good luck.

EDIT: heyyoo! as SOON as I closed this thread, over on good ol page 8, I found a thread where anonym927 created a little program that does exactly what you are looking for! At least I Think he did? You can check it out for yourself. hope that helps!

posted a message on Blockbench - A free, modern block model editor!

Honestly, I'd add futures, but the hotkeys, getting around the interface, it was kind of really easy to pick up. Its extremely user friendly. I was just playing in your browser version for all of 15 minutes. I made an Arcade.

Not sure if it's good or not. I Am used to more vertices. I think it looks like an arcade though. :o

The only issue I have is the same issue I have with most of the voxel editors, Is complicated UV control. I'll Bookmark it though and post here some stuff I make, And I'll play with it more. Really quick, very streamlined. For an artist like me to just jump in and play, 10 points to you Jannis. keep up the great work, I look forward to the additions you add. :)

posted a message on [Tool] Tabula/Techne to obj model converter.
    Quote from Thutmose»

that generally isn't possible, as tbl only supports quads, and obj models can have tris

Follow up question, (By the way, thank you for creating this, was curious about the process pairing between 3D models & converting them to work in the minecraft).

This is probably not the place to ask, But being a bit of a new fish in voxel conversion, if a model with each face is maintained with 4 vertices, regardless of square size, can that particular model be converted through your program back to a working file to be used in a mod? I might be in the wrong place, but I thought I would ask regardless.

Cheers! keep up the good work regardless!

EDIT: I only ask because I am pretty savvy in 3D modelling & Poly Modelling programs, And the ones I seem to find are rather limited. Was curious if this is what your software does. ^__^

posted a message on [REQUEST] [HELP] - Looking for that classic texture pack for a map project. its called "MINE EFFECT"

    Hey all!

Been playing since blah, blah, blah. Not my first time here, but since the change over, blah blah blah...

okay! so I've been scouring the internet looking for a very old texture pack & I cannot seem to find it anywhere I search. I've even done custom searches, and I was kind of going crazy asking myself, "did this actually exist?, did I create something similar while under the influence?" then! I saw this screenshot! and I KNOW IT EXISTS!

ahem...Im working on a map/project for a youtube thingy, and would very much appreciate it if you folks could point me in the right direction as to its location, its thread, etc. I have googled it, And it seems like its been erased from the internet, or I am just really tired and was not searching properly. Possibly the creator is still kicking around after these years? I'd very much like to use the textures in it for my youtube series. proper credit obviously to the creator, even if its an obsolete pack. It would be working along side mine.

Honestly, I could just create them myself, But they already exist you know?

Anyways, spanks and thanks for any assistance. cheers peoples!
