I hate this update I get 9 fps on far whereas I would get 40 in 1.5.2 and lower... Thanks Mojang
Then stop playing MC on a toaster.

Agreed. My FPS has dropped from 70-80fps with a HD pack on 1.4.7 to 30-40fps without a HD pack on 1.5.1. Recording new videos displaying my mod features is next to impossible as while before I could record at a constant (capped) 30fps I can only just hit 25fps now, and the video looks like a slideshow at times. Please fix this Jeb. The lighting engine was perfectly fine in 1.4,7. And don't leave us waiting till 1.6

I have GTX 970. I get 70-110 fps on 1.7.2 version with sonic shaders, but I get 20-45 fps on 1.8 version with sonic shaders. In my opinion, 1.8 shaders is not well optimized. On 1.7.2 version, my GPU usage is usually 90-99%, but when running 1.8 my GPU usage is usually 40-55%. 1.8 barely use half my graphics card's power.

Nice!

It looks good so far. Just curious, are the colors of clay textures similar to default? Lot of texture pack makers don't and it is one of my biggest pet peeve. Unlike wool, original hardened clay have reddish color instead of white, so mixing with dyes doesn't give you same color as dyed wool. I used Cyan hardened clay for one of my buildings because of nice gray color and lot of resource packs have it in actual cyan.

Interesting. Anisotropic filtering is great along with mipmapping. Mipmapping smoothens out the graininess, but it makes the textures few blocks radius from you little blurry. AF fixes that. A lot of modern consoles games don't have AF because of the hardware limit.

Use mipmapping from Optifine mod. Level 2 should do it.
I see people are calling it resource pack, but I'm still calling it texture pack.

What about Lapis Lazuli block?

Yes, it can. Just select world and click "browse" then find your world save file. It doesn't have to be in Minecraft save file.

Maybe Optifine have your settings set pretty high.

I get 250-600 fps depending on the scene and that's with 512x texture pack.

You'll have to wait for the mod to update like every other mod.
