Wow, it takes a LOT of gold for working minecarts

It actually takes just 5 :Iron:

In this order in 3x3 grid:

    :Iron: [] :Iron:
    :Iron: :Iron: :Iron:

Ummm, read the thread ok. It's not about how to actually make a minecart. But thanks for the thought I guess.

Watch all the videos. There are like half a dozen. They show you exactly how to make a booster to put at the start of a track to get more than enough power to save you from making gold tracks every 16 blocks.

If all you are going to do it read the title and not the entire thread you aren't going to know what is going on.
Watch all 8 of the videos

Watch all of them. There is one that shows how to do the exact same thing as this one except for with water instead of all those repeaters.

First, gold really isn't that hard to come by. Unless you do no mining at all, you should have more than enough to go for thousands of blocks.

Second there is a video in a thread, which I have no idea where it is at, that uses gold tracks in a loop to build up speed before sending you off that works almost as well as the oldest boosters.

Basically, you have a track in a circle, 4 gold tracks with 4 corners. You start going around this loop and you have a delay timer that will eventually give redstone power to one of the corner tracks to send you on your way.

I am sure someone has a link to this post. Doing it that way should save you plenty of gold tracks and it is more than enough power to boost you from sea level to as high as you can build a track to without needing any gold tracks between the booster and the top of the ramp.

Edit: Here look through this thread and watch these videos

I keep it all until I use it.

I use it mostly for terraforming. Either fleshing out hills after doing construction or building underground grassy areas.

I didn't see any Grieving in there, but possible a small bit of griefing.

Would it get you in trouble on a server? That really depends on the server.

If you aren't destroying his work and what you are doing isn't too garish, most admins probably won't ban you for it.

If you offer to remove it, if it isn't liked, that might possibly go a ways to keep you from getting banned over it.
I would suggest you also tell the mods/admins on the server before you do it, then if there are any major objections from them, you will know ahead of time.

Really like this mod, but I think a few more things should be added before mystic ruins comes out...

Colored doors! To match your colored wood houses.
Slabs- of both the smooth and non-smooth versions of the stone!

Imagine the colored temples with the steps and all, in conjuction with stained glass mod they look truely divine! :iapprove:

He was working on the slabs but was having issues getting them to work.
He said in a livestream that he spent hours trying to get it to work and he just couldn't get it to work yet.

what do i have to do to make iridium tools?

the way I understand it, you need to put a adamantine ore/ingot(not sure so try ore first) and surround it with 8 iridium.

Find a large body of water somewhere on the server, away from everybody else. Preferably at least 144x144.
Head under the lake and dig out a room at least 48x48 and get grass to grow there. That can take a while but you need the grass.

I've already built something similar, though not quite so large. Mine worked decentishly at best. Why 48x48?

Another thing, are neutral mobs subject to the 24 block "No-spawn zone" around the player? I'm fairly sure I've seen mobs spawn right next to me, but from what I see on the wiki, this shouldn't be the case, so I might be mistaken.

Because passives are subject to the 24 block No-spawn zone.

If you make it 48x48, which is bigger than needed, you have room to wander around one "zone" of the area killing stuff and still allow mobs to spawn on the other side of the "zone".
I have a 40x40 room that I use on a map that I have for an all underground map. It works fairly well except for this is under regular land so during the daylight hours I don't get the spawns. That is why I suggest under a large body of water, to not give them someplace else to spawn during the daylight hours.

Light it up and spend your nights running from corner to corner killing every single passive mobs that spawns in the room.

The more you kill mobs the better the chance you get for a black or brown sheep to spawn.

I would either have an incinerator or a hole to throw all the pork in.

This isn't the fastest, but it is better than wandering around during the day.

This is what i would do.

I have installed Minecraft on 3 different pc's, but I'm the only one who plays it, so this is very debatable. Some games may allow you have multiple copies installed in the same household, but that's pretty rare for non-steam games.

Having it installed on multiple computers is fine. If you try to log in on two of those computers at the same time it wont work.

I have played a few different Muds. I have played some of the bigger ones out there and a few smaller ones.

I played 1 daily for 2 years and then on and off for another 3 years after that.

The Iron Realms Muds are supposed to be RP, but there is usually a heavy dose of OOC talk on the OOC channel.
The actual gameplay and the interaction is all supposed to be IC, although I haven't been there in a few years, so I don't know how it is now.

I find the forums annoying, but it isn't because of the Moderators.

It is because of all the idiotic, immature trolls posting constantly.

The only forum I have seen that is actually worse would be Eve's, and that is because that type of behavior is encouraged on the forums and in the game.

posted a message on Thinking about Not updating to 1.6
This is what I would do. Well I do it, but I won't use it the same way.

Right before you update, and you can't update by mistake if you are using the new launcher.

Make a copy of your .minecraft folder. Place it somewhere like in your My Documents folder.

    Then you update Minecraft.

You can then make a 2 folders in your appdata folder, call one of them Minecraft 1.5 and make the other one Minecraft 1.6

Then if you want to play 1.5, you move the 1.6 .minecraft folder into the Minecraft 1.6 folder and drag the 1.5 .minecraft folder into your appdata folder.

It takes all of about 15 seconds to do this.

I keep the current version and the previous one in my appdata folder and I keep all the older ones in a couple of backup folders on different HDD's.

This will give you backups of all your .jar files and also backups of the saves and texture packs at the time you make the copy.

Just because people mainly use it to advertise their server does not mean that is all it is for. Obviously people frequent that section or there would not be so many posts. If you try to ask a question there, someone who might have more knowledge about your particular issue might be able to help.

Beta Survival Mode pertains to both Survival Single Player and Survival Multi Player.

Notice that both of those have the word Survival in them.

This isn't the Beta Single Player Survival Mode Forum.
If they wanted to have two different forums for SMP and SSP, they would have made two of them, but they didn't.

They made One. Beta - Survival Mode.

posted a message on How many people actually use minecarts?
In one of my worlds I have a minetrack going from my original home to the first ever mine I built, which was on my second world.

After a while I packed up a few things and headed out to find a new base, in the opposite direction of my mine. After getting killed I had to find my way back to the new base. this was before beds and resetting spawn points. So I made a minetrack going from my spawn to that outpost.

As soon as the new booster tracks came out, I used most of the gold I had found and made booster tracks for both lines. I then connected those two lines to do the Achievement.

Eventually, if I ever spend more time on that world I might do more work on the minecart system, but I don't see it as necessary. It serves it's function as it is, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it, applies here.

In any of my other worlds, I haven't had the need to put in tracks, as my branch mine is always below my base and all my building is done in the general vicinity.

    your question doesn't make sense.

A builder is what you are. Brick Sand and Cobble are what you use to build with.

It's a mod that adds mobs who build structures.

So this should be moved to the mods forum.
