We skipped 1.13 altogether since it was just a terribly buggy mess and started playing with 18w30a. From that point on, with the exception of 18w33a, things have gotten a lot better. At this point I'm fairly certain that 1.13.1 will be another good release.

I'm getting a lot of rubber-banding running this snapshot on a dedicated server. Also the server seems to crash periodically. Be careful with this snapshot!

this is the point where the java version is officially obsolete. Console version getting an update first. We can see where the focus is and it makes sense that's where it is (business wise). Java version exists solely for mods, and fewer people even use those since bedrock has the greater player count and all the momentum. It was inevitable
What you're saying is simply not true. Minecraft has sold over 122 million copies. And while the consoles have sold more than the Java edition at this point, there are still hundreds of millions of Java editions out there. Java edition is not dead. People saying that are just being dumb.
Java edition is the definitive version of Minecraft and it always will be. There are tens of thousands of mods for Minecraft Java. Even the current version 1.12 has ~3600 mods listed in 180 pages of mods on CurseForge and that's not even the complete listing of all mods available. Installing and playing mods has never been easier and if you want it even easier still you can just download one of the many mod packs available.
In my opinion people declaring Minecraft Java edition dead are the same kind of people who think console gaming is bigger than PC gaming. Spoiler: PC gaming has been bigger than all the consoles put together for years.

O no, now mod creators have an optional way of getting paid for their hard work!
Such monsters, it's almost like being paid for a service you provide is normal nowadays...
Receiving compensation for work is normal. However mods are not the same as professionally developed and supported DLC.
If I buy a mod, will I get support for it for as long as Minecraft is supported by Mojang? If Minecraft updates, will my paid mods still work? If the mods break due to a forced Minecraft update, can I get a refund? How long will I have to wait for mod updates after a Minecraft update?
These are, I think, valid reasons to take pause when buying mods instead of donating directly to mod authors who do a good job. Personally I only see downsides to paid mods from a consumer perspective. As long as paid mods aren't elevated to be treated equally in terms of support as professionally developed and supported DLC, I'm not going to buy any mods. Instead I will make donations to mod authors who I think are deserving of my money. Over the years I have paid more in donations than I have paid for Minecraft. -

This update looks really nice. Is this content coming to people who bought Minecraft for PC during the alpha fase as was promised by Notch?

Games should become cheaper over time. Minecraft has been around for years. A 30% price increase across the board is ridiculous.

As far as I know Dynmap renders chunks that have been generated by the game. It doesn't take in-game maps into account. Also, what would happen if a player lost the map? Delete Dynmap tiles as well?
Perhaps a mod could be made to interface with Dynmap's API to do this. It would need to set Dynmap to a kind of on-demand render for specific chunks and then supply the chunks based on what players draw on in-game maps by exploring.
It sounds really tedious though. I'm not sure why you'd want that.

The HappyDiggers TFC server attempts to stay as close as possible to the TFC experience. Players joining only need to have the latest TFC mod installed. The Freebie TFC has no whitelist and is open to anyone as long as they are friendly to other players and the staff. Players who enjoy our little community and are willing to support us with donations get access to our huge donor servers. Please read through the information below and follow the rules. You can download TFC from CurseForge.
The TechnodeFirmaCraft server also tries to remain true to the TnFC mod pack which is available on the ATLauncher. As well as the TFC server the TnFC server offers some quality of live features. On both servers there's Towny which has been configured to play nice with mods to offer protection. All block interaction is logged and players can view block history in case something goes amis.
We have been running TFC-based and other servers for many years now. Our staff is experienced and can help with most situations. Feel free to ask for help on the server, through tickets, on our forum or Discord.
Rules
The server has a few basic rules which all boil down to: be nice.
While on the server, type /rules to read the latest server rules.
To try to keep things running smoothly we are going to enforce some restrictions. These restrictions are on a per town basis. Meaning each town may have:
People are free to record YouTube videos on our server. We would very much like to see those videos. So we kindly ask that you let us know about it or maybe post one or two here or on the HappyDiggers forum.
If you break the rules you may be banned. In some cases we issue a warning first. If you are banned and wish to be unbanned you may appeal your ban on the HappyDiggers forums. If you cannot resolve the issue there please feel free to start a dispute on the MCBans website. Keep in mind however that a dispute only means that you think we banned you for the wrong reasons. It will not get you unbanned from our servers.

Technode FirmaCraft Server IP: tnfc.happydiggers.net:3000
Some useful links and contact:
The TnFC server runs the TechnodeFirmaCraft mod pack which uses an unofficial copy of TFC. The mod pack is available on the AT Launcher. See our Servers page for the current version of TnFC that we're using and the correct share code. Currently we are running version 3.7.1 of the TnFC mod pack.
TnFC installation instructions:
If you wish you can install optional mods (listed in a green font) like Dynamic Lights, Better Foliage, Presence Footsteps. Just whatever you do don't install Prattle.
Then manually download these mods and put them in the mods folder of your TnFC instance. It's usually located in the ATLauncher\instances folder in whatever name you gave your TnFC instance.

Some useful commands and info
Read the signs at spawn, they are there for a reason.
Server travel
Chat
You can use these channels to chat in:
You can join those channels with the following commands respectively:
While you are in one of these channels, you won't pick up chat from other channels so keep that in mind. Being in the town channel for example should only give you chat from fellow town members. That should greatly reduce the "noise" in chat.
Towny
/tgui, /tgui town, /tgui plot, etc. (provides a GUI interface to use Towny commands)
/towny (Looku towny commands)
/town new TownName (create your very own town!)
/town add PlayerName (invite someone to join your town)
/plot forsale (Mayor can set plots for sale which town members can then claim as their own. Remember: we don't use currency so don't set a price.)
/plot notforsale (Cancel a plot being for sale)
/plot claim (Residents can claim a plot that has been put up for sale by the mayor.)
A full list of commands can be found here: https://code.google.com/a/eclipselabs.org/p/towny/wiki/Commands
Lockette
People who are not part of a town, can't switch inside that town. This means they can't open things like doors, chests, tool racks, barrels, etc. To further protect such items from fellow town members or outside of a town, you can use Lockette. Simply place a sign on anything you wish to make your own private property and type [private] on the first line.
Tickets
If you need help and there aren't any mods or admins on the server, you can open a ticket.
/ticket-open YourQuestionHere (this opens a new ticket with your question)
/ticket-list (View your tickets)
/ticket-check # (Check your ticket with number #)
/ticket (this prints the help, don't type "/ticket help" as that would create a ticket with "help" as it contents. We know that's stupid.)
Block and inventory logging
If you suspect someone griefed you or stole something, you can check to see what happened with Prism. You can turn on the inspection wand with:
/prism i
Now you can left click blocks, chests, tool racks, etc. and see who placed/destroyed/opened/picked them up.
If you right click a block with air above it, you'll see the history of the air block. Maybe it was broken, burned, etc.
To turn off the inspector use:
/prism i off
We can also do more complicated look-ups of events like killed animals, picked up items, etc. This requires a bit more knowledge of prism so if you need help with that ask a staff member or look up how to do it in the Prism documentation.
Personal warp points / home
You can set "home" using /sethome. You can set more then 1 home using:
/sethome name
You can teleport to your homes using
/home name
Dynmap chat
You can chat on Dynmap if you register an account while you are on the TFC server. Use
/dynmap webregister
You should get a code. On the Dynmap web page, if you click the button under chat labeled: "Chat Requires Login" you can use the code you got in game to register an account.

DynmapForge v[/b]2.4[/b]-alpha-1[/b] is fairly recent. Sure the development isn't going as fast as years ago. But the project isn't abandoned either.

You are running an ancient version of Java 7. Update to Java 8, current release.
Then try running the latest release for Forge for Minecraft 1.7.10 instead of a dev build.

There is no need to change Dynmap config to get it to show up on it's default port. What you should do is provide some basic information so people don't have to guess at what might be the problem.
Which Minecraft server are you using? Spigot / KCauldron / Sponge / etc
Which version of Dynmap are you using? See opening post.
Does Dynmap load at all? Can you use Dynmap commands in game? What do the server logs tell you? Post them on http://paste2.org and link here.

In the opening post of this thread please read the following section to get your answer and a solution:
DynmapModScraper

I found DynmapModScraper-1.9.3-forge-7.8.1.jar on your release server which seemed to do the trick for Dynmap 2.0 also

We recently switched from using Minecraft 1.7.10 in our mod pack back to Minecraft 1.5.2. For us this has a lot of advantages that we're happy with so far. I was happy to see Dynmap 2.0 is available for Minecraft 1.5.2. Thank you for supporting older versions of Minecraft as well
I was wondering if there's a version of DynmapModScraper for Minecraft 1.5.2 as well since we have quite a few blocks that appear to be missing.

Do you allow your mod to be included in mod packs? Specifically public mod packs?
Also, I'm looking forward to the ore customization part. It would allow us to integrate it into our mod pack quite nicely.

I've come across Dynmap-multiserver but it has broken chat and login at the moment which is something we use a lot.

Using Minecraftloader 0.1.3 I'm getting the same errors. They seem to happen when you go into your (creative) inventory and click the search button. The messages in the spoiler below are from opening the creative inventory and clicking the search button once:
Here's the full fml-client-latest.log. (Warning: large paste)
*edit*
The same seems to happen when you use the NEI search field.
