This is on my new VDSL2+ connection. Definately upgrading to Fiber Optics once it becomes available in my area.

So if anyone could please help me, that would be great

did you try plugging it in the backplane? if that works it might be something that short it out? which results in the PC shutting off?
also, does this happen with other USB devices?
Heh, turns out it was a problem with the front ports.. Never thought about trying the rear ports since I tried plugging my iPhone into the USB port through my Razer BlackWidow Ultimate and still my PC shut off.

0Infired posted a message on PC shuts down when plugging in iPhone 4So,Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
Recently, a problem rose where if I plugged my iPhone 4 into the front USB ports, my PC would shut off completely.
I've done a bit of Googling but I haven't found anything helpful. Most of the answers say it's my PC, even though possible, isn't very likely. My computer is pretty high-end (Specs in signature) and some answers even say that my iPhone is sucking too much out of my power supply, even though I have an 850W PSU which is more than enough to power my PC and my iPhone.
I don't know whether anyone else has encountered this problem, but it's pretty frustrating since I can't sync my iPhone and put more songs on it.
0Infired posted a message on Thoughts on the new Razer BlackWidow 2013 Utimate Mechanical Keyboard? So, I've been thinking about purchasing the new Razor BlackWidow Ultimate 2013 Mechnical Gaming keyboard since my Razer Lycosa is really starting to let me down.Posted in: Hardware & Software Support
I'd just like to hear your thoughts/opinions on the keyboard itself and whether or not it is worth the purchase.
0Infired posted a message on In need of a new mechanical gaming keyboardHey Guys,Posted in: Hardware & Software Support
I am currently in need of a new mechanical gaming keyboard. My current keyboard is a Razer Lycosa but I really don't like it much and I have a few problems with it.
So does anyone have any good suggestions for a good mechanical keyboard? I've got my eye on the Corsair K90 and the Razer Blackwidow. But all suggestions/opinions are welcome.
0Okay, all done. Certainly does look great, doesn't it!Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
Anyway, thanks for all the help!

Hum what do you mean by black border ? Like on screen or are you talking about the bezel ?
0Ok, so I've got my second monitor connected, and everything is fine and looking good, just one small problem.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
There's a rather large black border around my Dell monitor.. How do I fix this? I believe it can be fixed through the AMD Catalyst Control Center, but where exactly am I looking?

ummm dont you have any DVI ports to begin with?
or another HDMI port?
or is that just my card
I've got the PowerColor Radeon 6950 2GB PCS++, and with my card I've got two DVI ports, a single link and dual link, two DisplayPorts (v1.2) and a single HDMI Port (v1.4a)
0Hey Guys,Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
I just got my new Dell 2320L 23" HD LED Monitor and I want this monitor to be my second display. So my main monitor uses the HDMI port on my Radeon 6950 Graphics Card, and I have a HDMI Male to DVI-D Male cable. What I'm confused with here is that do I plug the DVI-D Connector into my Graphics Card and the HDMI port into my new monitor or vice-versa?

Does it happen regularly, irregularly, at certain times of the day, or just randomly?
It happens randomly during the day/night. Some nights, it doesn't happen, some nights it does. Some days it doesn't, some days it does.

It could be a malware that sends large amount of data every x hours or so.
Or it could be the ISP just ****ing with you. Your brother might not be using the same programs as you, he might not rely on internet while using the computer etc.
My brother plays the same game which I play (League of Legends)

Just to put me at ease, run a SMART test on your HDD. Whenever I see "Lag spikes" I instantly think failing HDD, it's happened to me in the past. Twice.
I ran some SMART tests with SeaTools from Seagate, since most of my programs are on my 1TB Seagate HDD and I have a 60GB OCZ Vertex Plus SSD for my OS. The 1TB HDD came up as Healthy.
I recently disabled Caching in my HDD and IPv6 in my networking. So far, no spikes have occurred.
0Infired posted a message on Constant Lag SpikesHello,Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
I've had some really serious issues with my internet lately.
Basically, it's lag spikes which I can't seem to find a solution for. I've been looking around Google for quite a while now.
The problem affects applications that depend on internet to run like online games , my skype conversations on which there is usually a brief pause and after a few seconds I can hear my friends again.
I'm sure the problem relies within my PC since my brother who plays on a laptop has no problem what so
If anyone has ever had this problem, heard of this problem or has found a solution, I'd like some help to solving this
0Infired posted a message on Internet Lag IssuesHey guys,Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
As of the past week, I've been having some problem with some Lag Spikes.
The problem started when I was playing a game of League of Legends when I suddenly started receiving lag spikes which last for around 5 seconds. Sometimes with me getting disconnected.
I know the problem isn't with my Internet because my brother who also plays LoL can play perfectly fine on my old laptop without getting any spikes at all.
So the problem must persists within my computer.
CPU: i7 2600K
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3
RAM: 16GB (4x4GB) Kingston DDR3 1333MHz
GPU: PowerColor HD6950 2GB
SSD: OCZ Vertex Plus 60GB SATA-II
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM 32MB Cache SATA-II
PSU: OCZ ZX-850W 80+ Gold, Fully modular PSU
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Case: Cooler Master HAF-X Full Tower Case
The spikes usually start happening from around 8 or 10 at night, which makes me unsure whether it is my computer or not since the spikes don't happen during the day. I've run a full system scan with Malwarebytes which shows no viruses and I've defragmented my HDD which League of Legends was installed on.

Dual boot. OSX for normal use, TF2, Minecraft, etc. Windows for any other games (I have a old copy of Vista I can use).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you spend around 2.7K on an iMac around September last year?
