i don't know how Risugami does it, but he updates it so insanely fast, he probably is a master of the piece of code he needs and can easily figure out the code change.
i don't think Modloader does that huge a thing to the Minecraft Code, though it has enormous consequences for the mods we can add.
Risugami is one of a few modders that, to my knowledge, works straight with the obfuscated code. Hence why he doesn't need MCP.
I have a great deal of respect for that, even if I think it's a little nuts :smile.gif:

When the mod updates for 1.1 can you or someone make a mod to allow people to use mods like
RedPower 2, IndustrialCraft 2, Equivalent Exchange and Railcraft with Better than wolves and i don't care if you and eloraam are imcompatible with one another get over it.
No. Get over wanting it.

Just a funny little idea I had, but couldn't you make it so the little smiley face on the can turned into a frowny face when it's empty? It would just be an interesting little easter egg.

Seeing as you're bringing us such wonderful gifts, does this mean we get to call you Santi Claus? :biggrin.gif:

I wasn't aware there was a difference.

However, it's impossible to get rid of haters, and according to Jeb the mod API isn't going to be done until at least March, but of course people don't understand how difficult it can be and will start asking why it isn't done yet.

Well I'm glad I made your morning, I like making people happy. On a side note, this pack reminded me of a small game I played recently called The Day by Gregory Weir, he makes a lot of games with multiple endings but this one only has two. I highly suggest playing the card game before going into the trees though, and when you're through with that read the developer's notes on the main menu, you'll see why it reminded me of this pack.
On yet another side note, I'm reconsidering just leaving this pack for the map makers and taking it up myself, sort of to make a prequel to my Last Days world because I like working with packs that have alternate wool styles and with something as amazing as this I could probably creep some people out in a very serious way.

I was thinking something a bit more involved that just a random radioactive material. For instance, helium-3 because it's a key componet in fusion reactors and the moon is supposed to be rich in helium-3 and the blaze could be robots programmed to gather it and refine it by spinning it around at high speeds, removing the impurities. However they could also be outfitted with a defense system to take down anyone trying to infiltrate the lab (nether fortress) or steal the helium-3. Upon obtaining a rod of helium-3 though, the player could use it in the construction of a distilling stand, whereby they could use the small but ever present energy generated by the rod to react certain substances down into a form where they could mix with water. If taken and crushed into a powder though, the powder could be used in the same distilling process as an ingredient itself, where it's own innate energy would cause the water to take on qualities of a steroid, increasing the drinker's strength temporarily. If the powder were mixed with a portion of insulating slime and distilled, it would allow the drinker to traverse radioactive waste safely by creating a forcefield that would take incoming particles and fuse them together into heavier, non-penetrating particles while the slime protected the drinker from the intense heat given off by the waste. Lastly, if powdered helium-3 were injected into one of the devices worn by the so called "endermen", it would essentially activate the device as well as giving it a target. As "The End" is located on one of the remaining chunks of the moon in orbit, the device would take the helium-3 and actively try and seek out more of it. If released, the device would attempt to locate a gateway to "The End" and hover towards it phasing through solid matter if needed. If a player were the one to obtain this device though, they could re-program it to only hover a short distance before disengaging and falling to the ground where it could be retrieved and reactivated. Unless the player is a master programmer though it is unlikely they will be able to fully disengage the emergency teleport system in the device whereby the "endermen" teleport if in presence of a threat and the device would be liable to spontaneously teleport directly to "The End" instead of using the gateway. If a player manages to locate a gateway however they would be able to use multiple of these devices to provide power to the gateway and enable travel to "The End".
...
Whoa...
...I did not expect that to turn out as long as it did, but it would seem that I do like explaining things. I hope this can help with the lore but I was worried about tossing another idea into the pot when it seems that we're finally rolling.

I would agree with you, except for one pattern I've noticed. Whenever Notch announces some new feature, a lot of people go white in the face becauses it changes some core gameplay aspect or it just doesn't seem like 'Minecraft'.
I've had this too, shears I had a problem with, (You need iron just to get wool!?) but then it was revealed that killed sheep dropped wool, maybe only one block but it made up for it.
Endermen I had a problem with as well, well actually, I was part of the group that wanted the name changed to farlanders, but after a while the name grew on me and now I can't imagine calling them anything but endermen.
I have a feeling this boss battle will be one of those cases. Everyone is flipping out because the words 'boss battle' scream 'endgame!' which just doesn't fit with a sandbox game, but Notch is probably going to reveal some other aspect of it that prevents it from truly being the end.
But there's one thing people always seem to forget, the fact that Minecraft is indeed a sandbox game, and by definition in a sandbox game you can do whatever you want. I'm the type that likes a goal, before I really got into the spirit of building things I always considered getting the the Nether to be the 'endgame' because there's no higher tier, and after that I got bored and started a new world. But no one is forcing you to conform to a storyline, they're just improving the gameplay for those types who like having goals.
