    Yup, you are right- updates only, nothing about expansions. So what that says is that even though you paid less money for alpha, you will luckily still get the updates.

    A promise yes, but did he cross his heart? Furthermore did he hope to die?

    Just started playing when Beta 1.4 was out, so behind the times I guess. Still a terrific value for 14.95 Euro.
    I've never seen anyone charge for content patches (updates), so nothing new there. Expansions (maybe yearly at most) always cost extra. It seems the alpha joiners should get these as promised (add a lawyer into the equation and promises quickly dissapear). If Minecraft II is developed, we are all out of luck. And if Mojang sells the game, the only thing the new outfit will be concerned about is future income, definately no loyalty there. I hope all you alpha-ites printed out your EULAs, oh wait....

    Lil' background- I was incorporating the new powered track features into the rail yard, using a pez and a single powered track section for a dispensor. One of the cart call locations is quite a distance so I was using an old style magnetic induction booster to get the called cart to location (hate the term glitch- If you can't savy the laws of magnetism as put forth by Guass, Lorentz and Faraday how the heck can you believe in the powers of F'n red stone). So as the push cart came around to the now unpowered section, it was boosted too much and overan the unpowered brake.

    Anyway, to the jist of the post- One could use a short old style booster along with a brake section to sort occupied traffic. Not sure what uses it might have and no time to test today, but thought I would throw it out for discussion.

    Alright, it's snowing again- still kinda pretty to watch.
    Just barely got my water trap running again but it looks like it will freeze up soon.
    Cleaned my rail yard of all the fresh snow so I could experiment with the new tracks.
    Maybe tomorrow, looks to be a heavy snow...

    Just started snowing and Ohhhh, so beautiful!!
    Swirling flakes and crystals wafting around.
    Open ground spots being recovered, thawed lake sections refreezing.
    Froze up my mob drowning trap though.

    Gonna build a glass roof, sure hope it comes through into my house!

    Phew! Finally got all the comments read, everone was posting faster than I could read!

    A few comments/obersvations-

    Saplings can be transplanted out of their biomes.
    My bed is still safe to sleep in.
    The detector rail does crash the game when placed variously adjacent to other lines.
    OpenGL doesn't seem to do much (still around 500fps) but lets my GPU work far less (20%) and run much cooler.
    Storage carts are still treated as unoccupied : (

    The new boosters-
    Will work from a dead start (either on a slant or backed up against a block).
    Only boost unoccupied carts by like 8-9 (occupied by 120 or so).
    The second booster in line only adds maybe 20%, so it might be better to string them out.
    Possibilities for use with conventional boosters are very interesting.

    Off to test some...

    Oh and rain might travel through glass.

    Sugar cane confirmed as a snorkel. Plunk one down, stand in it, plunk another on top- gets you a quick breath and auto-grabs the two pieces as they break. Works on any flat surface.
    For vertical walls, use a torch for a quick breath.
    For a permanent air station, the cane will need to be on dirt and next to a ledge (hole)- will allow placement of two high and is persistent. Or use a door (anywhere) for a perm air station- you can then build out (water tight).
