posted a message on Cant even start Minecraft! (1.8)
    Quote from Animall098

Ever since 1.8, I cant even start Minecraft.
I will be at the start screen, then my computer freezes because of Minecraft, and I have to close the page. Its very annoying. I was so excited for 1.8, and now its crushed. >.<

I have only been able to start it once since 1.8. When it did, it was extremely laggy! My "person" could only walk every 2 seconds. It wasnt a game anymore, more of like a slideshow. All of the settings were on low/none.
Due to this, I died. I lost all of my diamonds and gold, and some hard-to-find items.

    FIX THIS. PLEASE. >.>

Have you tried a fresh download of the game client? I was having a ton of issues and downloaded the game again. I was playing on the same client I had for vr. 1.2. This resolved all my crashing and connection/login issues.

    Good luck!!

posted a message on Monster Spawner Questions
Stumbled upon a grouping of 3 spawners in the same area and I have a few questions:

1.) If I seal off a spawner, can enemies still spawn from it outside of this tomb/box? If so, how far from the spawner can it actually spawn mobs?

2.) I heard a while back that it was possible to move a spawner in survival mode. Is this possible?

3.) Can I manufacture them in-game normally or do I have to spawn them as an admin?

4.) Is there anyway to identify what monster a specific spawner will create?

5.) Is the pig inside merely a trick to lure mobs out of a distant dimension and once in our world they are unable to get to the pig because its in a caged box?

6.) I have been playing on my server in Creative Mode with all mobs disabled. While exploring, I found a spawner that was spitting out aggro spiders despite being in peaceful game. What gives?

posted a message on Creative Mode Suggestion - Instant Break Tool
    Hello,
I am really enjoying 1.8. I did have a strange lapse of boredom at my ability to be God and no longer be affected by the forces of gravity. But at realizing I was no longer held back by the restrictions of Survival mode, the game blossomed into more. Suddenly the sand in my sandbox was better than before :smile.gif: So I got to building and put Creative Mode to the test, a test that can only be failed through static action.

The conclusion, I think instead of Creative Mode defaulting to you being able to instantly break blocks, we should have an Instant Break Tool. Maybe a wand shape or hammer or lightsaber. When working with redstone, its frustrating to reroute something and break more pieces than or needed. Or working around the glass panels which seem to shatter at my mere passing.

    Its just a thought :smile.gif:

posted a message on Enderman Is Sabotage!
Endermen started breaking my structures, so I mined out the land underneath the ones that mattered and now everything is in the sky. The places that remain at ground level have lava moats around them or were left for the Endermen to play with. It was interesting finding 3 of these guys ripping apart my testbed area for minecarts :smile.gif: Endermen have made me build more arrow-dispenser walls behind lava falls and more pitfalls into lava around my remaining ground structures.

Their indifference to which blocks they move is interesting because they have moved blocks meant to mark property/project boundaries as well as markers used for landmarks. They REALLY like to break trees :smile.gif:

I would like to see them be able to move any non-manufactured block. But if I cooked/smelted/forged it, they shouldn't touch it. I do agree that they should build cool things with the blocks they displace.

    Just my $.02

    Quote from niadhoan117

Say you just want to start out with a decent house and whatnot, but the problem is, is that you made that starting house in creative mode. What I am suggesting is that you can convert your creative game into a survival game once you are done building.

Is that not currently planned? I figured Creative Mode would be an on off switch of sorts similar to Difficulty...or even similar to turning off cheats in other games. Well, fingers crossed we will be able to bring Creative mode creations into Survival :/

To be perfectly honest, i feel like i lot of these configuations are overly complicated. A very simple XOR gate (assuming i'm right and it means that if either input is turned on, then the output turns off.) is to have two blocks side by side, with a two torchs side by side on one side of the blocks.
    :cobblestone: :cobblestone:
    :RFlower: :RFlower:

the on each end of the blocks, have an input wire going into the side of the blocks.
    -- = wire [] = block P = torch

    -------to output
    P P
    --[][]--

    Something like that.

I resolved it using the XOR Gate and looking back at what you said re: crossed wires. I found that the literal design for the XOR Gate above is incorrect. The schematic shows a 6x3 design. It should be a 7x3 design with an extra row added in the 4 blocks from the left to increase the distance between the output torches and the null torch which triggers them. This was the crossed wires that was giving me grief. Will try to get a picture up later as an example.

    Thanks for your help!

Its very strange. On a local world, the XOR Gate works perfectly on my mechanism mock up. I must have tried to break it for 15 minutes with it working everytime. Jumping on my Multi-server, which has the exact machanism, the circuit breaks after 6 or 7 activations.

Anyone else notice circuits breaking on Multi, but not on a Local world?

Hmm, will have to try when I get home. I just need a circuit that will allow two different levers to each independently activate and deactivate the same mechanism no matter what state the other lever is in. From what I see, I think I am going to try one of the Xnor Gates detailed here. Seems to be as close as I am going to get

Check the wires around and near the gate, especially redstone torches. You may have a short circuit in which the signal is getting fed back into the gate and burning out your torches. Try and re-arrange some things and see if you can get it working then. Pictures would help.

The thing is, these circuits are burning out when constructing them elsewhere to test. A switch from outside operates the door and bridge correctly when setup to operate independently or together. They even operate correctly the first few times with the double switches, but after 5 or 6 times triggered, they stope working.

I am building them to spec based off of the following image and video...

I can try to get an image of what I have on my server, but it is really nothing different from what is detailed above. The only difference is, where he has those two levers on the front of the XOR Gate, I am trying to route them so they are on either side of the door. Do these levers need to be placed as detailed? Am I missing something in regards to extending them to either side of my door?

Thanks a bunch for your help!!!

    Hello,
I have been working on a fortress that uses both 2x3 Hidden Piston Door as well as a restracting Piston Bridge. I have managed to get these to work in tandem having the bridge retract when the door closes and the bridge expand when the door opens. My next goal was to create a switch on the inside and outside that would operate this mechanism and not result in my getting locked out or in.

In my research, I have found that I should be able to use either a XOR Gate or an RS NOR Latch to accomplish this.

I have followed the design schematics on Minecraftwiki exactly using the StandardLogicGates.png that can be found there.

My current issue is these both work a handful of times before Redstone torches start to stop working all together. When this happens, I have no choice but to rebuild the whole circuit. I am running the latest version of Minecraft on server and client side.

Is this an issue with the current version of Minecraft?

Can someone possibly offer a reliable circuit alternative that will offer me the desired end result? The more compact the better, but in the end, its just going to be buried.
