posted a message on [16x] [1.2.4] (WIP) Simply Life - Hi there
    ^Clickable^

    Or here's the DOWNLOAD LINK

My first-ever texturepack. The whole time I've played minecraft, I've preferred the default texturepack over any others. Mainly because of the fact that I like keeping minecraft vanilla.

But recently, I've gotten into spriting, and I decided to give a shot at making my own texturepack.

Although it's made from scratch, you may notice that it is similar to the default texturepack. This is because I've tried to keep certain traditions from the default texturepack while using my own style.

And keep in mind this IS my first texturepack. I'm new to the whole business, so it's 16x cause I like to keep it simple.

If you have problems with the texturepack, or you would like to help improve it, I take all criticism and feedback. I'll try to respond to most of the posts, and keep you up to date with my progress!

The forest. In my honest opinion, it's the simplest. It has trees and grass. Sometimes stone and lava. A normal amount of regular mobs spawn there, and it's usually flat with a lot of lumber to be had.

posted a message on We should have a healing potion
There is a current way to brew several different types of potions. It requires you to delve into the nether and find "blazes" in the nether.

On death, blazes usually drop blaze rods. You then put the blaze rod with three cobblestone in a crafting bench, like so.

Once you place it down, you can brew three potions with one reagent.

For a potion of instant health, first you must make a bottle of water.

You craft a bottle of water like you do a wooden bowl, only with glass. It gives you three each time you craft it. Then you right-click on a body of water and fill up one individual bottle.

Next, delve into the nether and find a netherbrick fortress. You'll know when you see it. A big, square complex.

Now find nether wart. It looks like a plant growing inside of the fortress. Once you acquire these, move on back home. Insert the nether wart into the top box, and three water bottles into the bottom three. It will start to brew an awkward potion. Now you get watermelon slices and gold nuggets (made by crafting one gold ingot) into Glittering Watermelon, and brew the potions with that reagent.

Now you have a potion of instant healing. There's a LOT more potion combinations for brewing, use this wiki page as a referrence.

posted a message on A natural "Lifecycle".
This suggestion is for a life cycle to least describe it. A whole system of the world "cycling" before your character.

First off, the cycle happens through every "Tri-day Cycle". Every three days, things should change.

If water is touching dirt or grass, over three days, the dirt or grass changes to sand. This should make sand another renewable resource.

Next is dirt. If water is touching cobblestone or smooth stone, over a period of three days it will turn into dirt.

The same would happen if lava would be touching sand or dirt. Every three days, the liquid block turns blocks into something else. One renewable resource for another.

Next is natural leaf decay. Every three days, a tree sheds it's leaves and regrows them in another three days. The whole cycle would take six days to work. Three days to decay, three days to regrow and repeat.

Now for wildgrass growing on it's own. Unlike the others, this happens randomly. Wildgrass will 'spread' from another wildgrass block. Sometimes flowers would replace a wildgrass block.

And that's it. A lot of the easy-to-get blocks (dirt and sand, specifically) aren't renewable. This system wouldn't make them easy to get, it would just be a cool little thing to have.

posted a message on [Surv] [1.0.0] Survival (floating) Islands!

Survival Islands. It may be overused, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun, right? There's little resources, a few secret chests and I'd recommend having the difficulty above peaceful.

It's a small map with a few islands. I don't know what to say since this is my first map I've ever made.

I made is using MCEdit by deleting every chunk and placing a few blocks, then I used Creative mode for everything else.

There one rule is do not cheat using mods or inventory editors.

Here is the link to the map. Have fun and enjoy!

Sorry if the topic isn't good enough, or anything. Really, this is my first map finished.

And one last thing, at the time I was making this map, I hadn't realized This one was being made. It's a coincidence, I swear :biggrin.gif:

Although now that you do think about it, they are really similar. What a weird coincidence indeed.

posted a message on SMP should be focused on in 1.9, also.
SMP is not as user-friendly as many of us would like. It's buggy, laggy and it disconnects a lot. Part of the whole minecraft experience was to share it with others, but it's hard to do that with something that shows it's still in development.

I mean no offense, though. It's still pretty awesome itself, but there's a lot of problems with it and I think SMP should get a little love in the next update.

Although this is my opinion. Do you agree or disagree, and do you have any opinions about it yourself?
