Alright, what am I supposed to be doing here? Is this right? Wrong? How do these even work? Right-clicking with the Manipulator gives the error sound.

You're not supposed to interact with the repeaters. You use them to relay pylon energy to a place where it is needed, and they will not do anything and you will not see them do anything until you trigger something that needs pylon energy.

Is it feasible to run an RF-requiring base solely on shaft power? Which machine is the converter to RF?

Absolutely. Mid- and high-level shaft power engines are, in my opinion, one of the most efficient ways to generate RF. Use the rotational dynamo to convert power. It can also be upgraded to double its maximum output.

For truly insane levels of RF, use ReactorCraft for power generation and convert to RF with the turbine generator.

This hydrokinetic power plant generates 12 kRF/t (the dynamos are at the other ends of the world rifts) and grinds its own lubricant - canola is farmed on RandomThings Fertilized Dirt and bred for higher output with Agricraft, so I only need a small patch of ground for canola farming:

I guess mostly the question was does that still apply with 2 turbines + all the motors that would be replacing the micros. I haven't actually used Electricraft extensively before, so I don't know if they have the same FPS hit that engines do in larger numbers.

In similar cases, I've used shaft power buses to distribute the power. No need for many motors or engines. I've been told the shaft power buses are glitchy, but I have yet to run into a problem with them.

I'm trying to calculate how many Dew Point Aggregators I need to build to supply my fusion reactor in a world with finite water. And before you point me to other mods: I do not have any other means of making large amounts of water in my pack.

According to the formulas, one DPA's efficiency in an ocean biome maxes out at 48 Nm (which will make it produce 2000 (2304 capped to 2000) mB water per operation) at 65536 speed (one operation per tick), for a rather inconvenient input of 3MW. (I just hope the Shaft power buses will work for me here, too).

    What I don't know:

    (1) How many of those would I need?

    (2) Can the DPA perform multiple operations per tick? If yes, then....

    (3) Will the operation time decrease in a linear way as I double input power (for instance, 2op/t = 131072 rad/s, 3op/t= 262144 rad/s) or will it increase proportionally (2op/t as above, 4op/t = 262144 rad/s)? If it's the former, I'm better off with more DPAs, If it's the latter, then...

    (3) How much water can a liquid pipe take in from a DPA per tick? If the limit is higher than the maximum amount I need per tick, then I can use one DPA, otherwise I'll have to use multiple DPAs.

Nothing, really. I attempt to craft runes with normal, nonenhanced shards: 1 rune as output is shown. As soon as I swap the shard to an enhanced one there is no output anymore. Should be 16 runes.

Do you have the recipe in your lexicon? Knowing the recipe won't help you if you haven't unlocked it, and yes, the two recipes - with normal and with boosted shards - are unlocked at different times in the progression.

Are boosted kuro crystal shards broken atm? I am not able to craft runes with them. Also I'm not able to craft other items that require them, like the storage crystal.

I am unaware of any bug with them. What does the casting table show if you attempt such castings?

A few versions ago Reika made a test build that used up something in the range of 3 buckets per second.

Thank you. That's manageable. Oh wait - is that per toroid or for the complete set of 36? If the latter, that would be a little more problematic.

I have a problem though: I couldn't get my Ender fluid conduits to connect to a toroid? Do I need to use RotaryCraft liquid pipes?

Can anyone tell me how much liquid nitrogen the toroid magnets of the fusion reactor consume? The last time I built this thing, it wasn't required yet.

Also, is there a reasonable way to find Ocean Temples, or am I just supposed to search every ocean in my entire world until I find a single one?

You must explore I'm afraid. There are no compasses or suchlike for them. They're not supposed to be super-rare, and flying around with night vision makes them easy to see. Having said that, certain worldgen mods (such as RTG and climate control) make them extremely rare. I have those mods and spent 16 hours looking before I decided to cheat.

Lastly, how do I unlock item casting stuff? I have all the stands made and placed, but the progression hasn't triggered fully yet for it, and I have no recipes that actually use the stands yet (except the Tinted Lenses, which are oddly placed in the Lexicon, much earlier than it's possible to make them, as they require some items much further into the progression. I still don't know what the central item is yet).

Try some Runecrafting, for instance by making a heat lamp. You need to craft something, but in most cases it's not something specific, but rather one of a class of items that uses a specific casting method. The rationale is that you need casting experience in the methods you've discovered before being able to move on. If the heat lamp doesn't work, try other items from the constructs tab. I'm reasonably sure the heat lamp will do it though. You only need to craft one item per new research level. You get a message when ascending a research level, but these messages are easily overllooked because they usually occur within a string of fragment unlocks, so some levels are a little obscure. They also don't correspond to the casting structure levels.

I'm not sure this was a bug, but I think it may be worth looking into:

I was using a teleportation pump to remove some lava hanging in the air after clearing out an area with the BC Filler. I got about 1.5 kB of lava from it, which seemed implausible. My impression was that the pump gave me lava from flowing lava blocks that were in the process of disappearing due to the blocks above them being removed, and since the removal of flowing lava would trigger flow-in from a neighbouring lava block, it appeared that you could get more than one bucket of lava from one block of flowing lava, as long as such flow-in was still possible.

I'm having a problem with the builder:

I wanted to use a builder to clear a large area of blocks (about 100x60x40). I defined the area using a void shape card, first clicking the builder and then the two corners of the area, and put the card into the builder. The shape card within the builder gui correctly showed the coordinates of the defined area. Then I gave it power and a redstone signal - and nothing happened. No power was used, no blocks were removed.

    What am I doing wrong?

This was v4.23 for Minecraft 1.7.10 (I take it the 1.7.10 version is frozen and won't get any more updates?)

In Chromaticraft Has anyone tried to make an advanced ritual altar ? Or is it a WIP content because it doesnt work like normal ritual altar.

It can be made. At a certain point, you must upgrade your old altar or you won't be able to acquire any more abilities.

Alright so I wen´t into the chromaticraft dimension and grabbed a dimensional core :). I got some new knowledge and also something about the turbocharging. I tried to turbocharge one of my pylons but it still does NOT work. (I have the lastest verion of chromaticraft) I also disconnected the pylon from the crystal network but that did not help.

Go on doing what you're doing... I don't know why Reika said what he said, but in less technical terms I still think I'm correct. I'll ask him later.

    They still do by default.

Odd. My (upgraded) fans show two areas of effect - one one block wide and another one three blocks wide, but harvest (canola) they do only in the one-block wide area. Also, I haven't found any config setting for them. I also doubled the power input (from one to two DC engines) since the manual says upgrading reduces efficiency by 50%.

    Edit:

The fertility booster is crazy, LOL. It seems to have little effect on Ender Lilies though.

    *Sigh* I hate changing rules.

What must I do to make my fans harvest a 3-block wide area like they did in versions up to 13?
