A couple people commented that the dungeons are a little too hard to find. So the first one is in the North East corner on a hill. The second is directly North of spawn and there is a sign indicating it's location.
If anyone plays it, I'd really love feedback on how to make it better.
Thanks for reading my post. I have been playing HC and UHC for the past year and a half and I decided to make an adventure map.
This is a map with custom dungeons, expanding borders, and other crazy stuff. It's my first map, but so far those that have played it have enjoyed it. If you do choose to play it, I would love feedback on your thoughts.
The Rules:
Play survival like normal, but in order to expand the map you must complete the dungeons that I have designed around the world. As the map expands a new dungeon becomes available until you make it all the way to the Moon Temple. The map can be played on Easy, Normal, or Hard, just not peaceful (well you can...) One other bit of fun, natural regeneration is turned off.
Bows are very useful. Here is an example where one might be needed... You're exploring a ravine and standing on a ledge, you spot a skeleton that will be in your way. If you don't clear that skeleton out than he could shoot you off the ledge. Solution, use a bow to knock him off instead.
I always recommend a good bow.
You said that you weren't going to be going to the Nether, but if you do, a bow is essential for Ghasts and really helpful with Blazes.
I'm from back in Alpha, personally I think that the additions are mixed. Some are OP, some are just right. Heck when you think about it, beds are OP, can you imagine how survival was before you could set your spawn? And I disagree with the terrain generation, the 1.8 generation is really good in my mind, although there are too many roofed forests. Go back and play the versions that your talking about and see if they really are as good as you remember.
If you want a good challenge just do this. /gamerule naturalRegeneration false
I have cleared a couple of water temples. In my experience taking on more than 3 normal guardians at once can be tough without some form of cover. Generally the Elders would have several smaller ones with them too so they are already tough by themselves.
The lasers they all shoot are serious damage and can quickly overwhelm a player if they don't have a route of escape.
I think a super hard challenge would be 3 Elders at one (provided there is cover). Without cover 2 Elders would destroy a player.
Since you're asking the question, you probably already think of changing modes as cheating. Really it's up to you though. What are you really trying to accomplish in your world?
If it feels like cheating to YOU, than it's probably cheating. If not, then don't worry about it. Thankfully MC can be played a number of different ways anyway so it really doesn't matter.
Honestly this service is not really designed for anyone that is reading these forums, most of us can host our own servers.
But I think it's a great idea for people that just want to be able to run a vanilla server for friends and family. I run a server for my friends, but if the cost was low enough, I might consider it.
The great thing is that this doesn't take away from private servers at all, just adds a new optional feature for those interested. Good for everyone. Remember Mojang is not EA.
