posted a message on I have a cow for a moon.
    Quote from QSKSw

The "Beta" excuse is wearing thin now that they're getting close to when they want to "finish" the game. While it still applies enough that we shouldn't be angry about bugs like Moon-Cow, it does mean that Mojang should not Rely on Beta testers to completely debug they're game for them. And while Moon-Cow is indeed an obviously rare bug, it is one that should have been obvious in the code. The textures of everything that has it's own texture file is clearly defined within it's own code as being that file, and a bug that causes these textures to completely swap is quite blatant.

All of this is completely moot, because either the bugs in the pre-release were induced by the stress that was put o Jeb_ who has recently been in charge of the entire project while Notch does other things, or were intentionally left in in an attempt to get people who DO think "Beta = 'Early Play Time'" to shut up and let them work.

I will now use Moon-Cow in a texture pack.

You're forgetting that thousands of players playing the game can find bugs faster than a small group of people, and people want the full release as fast as possible. Also, why would it affect ONE person? I highly doubt that it's much of a bug on their part, or their influence was very subtle.

    Quote from Bomb64

I thought they where pigmen? So wouldn't they behave like in the nether?

ZOMBIE pigmen are in the Nether, but I believe we're going for (possibly) regular pigmen in the villages. Though, they'll probably act the same, being that I highly doubt the villagers will just stand there as you try and take them down, probably won't run away, and it would make sense for them to fight back.

And I'm probably not gonna think much of the villages or consider them abandoned, if I'm going into a roleplay mindset, with the belief that there's still some insubstantial civilizations out there.

Why congratulate them for something they've been consistently doing and haven't released yet.

We can have our squees of love later, when it's released, I think.

posted a message on I think Notch should delay 1.8 some more.
I personally disagree. There's nothing lost in the end- we're merely gaining half (or more, or less) of it now, and the other half later. What's wrong with that?

While a couple features aren't going to be especially helpful (mainly exp), we'll have mods for that later.

I don't believe anything's being lost in the process. If you don't want 1.8 now, why don't you just not update until 1.9?

Well , the way they make them have babies , is just not good. It will be annoying , if you kill every pig , you are f*cked , you wont have pig babies so you wont have more pigs.

It should stay as it is , but well , i suppose it is coming 1.9

That's why you gotta use your brain. Just slay all of them except for two for baby making, and you're good to go.

And when you get successful, you can have them in separate pens, where you do the same.

Would be good if they increased altituded a little but because i find a nice high mountain with a nice veiw but can only build like 5 block high on it befor hitting the cap it would be nice they like doubled the hight but the generator still generates to the hight is it now

Periods, and commas, are your friends.

To not be a grammar nazi,

You can get mods if you want higher build space. Notch is making that easier now.

posted a message on NPC villages spawning?
Why would terrain magically appear in a place that already has terrain?

It's incredibly unlikely that they aren't going to spawn exclusively in newly generated terrain.

posted a message on How 1.8 has affect my views of Mojang
it irritates me that people decide to rage about the fact that he's complaining about Notch.

I do respect Notch considerably well, but the OP does have some valid points. I'd have to say that his behavior is lazy and debatably apathetic, to a degree. And this makes me unhappy, for reasons that I don't feel need to be restated.

On another note, I wish that people would feel less inclined to insult each other repeatedly. It's immature, and altogether, quite rude. Especially, I feel, on the side of the people who are raging due to complaints toward Notch.

    Quote from TheXarath

The terrain generator that is in 1.7 will not exist in the same form come 1.8. Therefore, it wouldn't make any sense for 1.7 maps to not generate 1.8 biomes in unexplored territory. Don't freak out, there probably won't even be that much of a difference between new and old chunks.

It's using a new system, so it's not likely to be compatible with the old. The changes will likely be very noticeable.

I personally think that the way to go is to simply copy and paste the stuff you care about into a fresh world. Or, just build new stuff altogether.

If Notch is adding support and a way for modders to be freely able to change the map height, why would a mod that was solely to change the map height, which wouldn't be a thing he's taking away, stop working?

    I can't play it anyway. :S

Oh well, I guess when it IS released, I'll just have to play it on my crappy computer, being able to see approximately 2 feet ahead of me.

I sincerely hope that the system requirements goes down.

Or that my laptop is magically fixed.

Probably both, because my laptop sucks at handling Minecraft too.

    Quote from Cannonite

people who say they arent dangerous picture this enderman spawner:O

A mob spawner that spawns mobs that aren't hostile unless a certain, easily avoidable condition is fulfilled. The horror!

Endermen mob spawners would be easy to thwart, and probably easy to rapid-mine. I mean, place a block of water and whatever they drop is yours for the taking. Forever.

posted a message on Unpopulated Towns?
    Quote from Apyrax

He's talking about whether or not NPCs will populate towns generated in 1.8 once 1.9 comes out.

It's phrased to imply that the world(s) are already in existence, and have gained progress. Since, unless it was released recently, it's impossible for him to have it, it would be implied that he might expect villages to randomly pop up anywhere. After all, a lot of people don't seem to know about the magics of chunk generation.

Not to ramble on about something rather off-topic and completely unimportant... Though I did.

But yeah, I'd expect towns to magically be populated. Unless there's significant variables of sneaky irritation involved.
