    Quote from †BULLET†

First off, if you're gonna talk to me, then i suggest you be polite, and not troll me.
second, i prefer playing vanilla because that's just how i am, i used to play a lot of modded games but i just got sick of it and started playing vanilla, and guess what, even with all the limitations that vanilla games have, i still like them. Its my choice. Not yours, so there's no reason to be rude.

That's pretty much irrelevant. You're making one small modification, which you want, not downloading a huge (or even small) mainstream mod that adds a lot of content and features. Adding a few files manually shouldn't be something to cry about.

Notch is pretty much allowing people to change the altitude freely. If it really bugs you that much to download something from somewhere else for something you want, then learn how to make it yourself.

Or, you could just live without increased altitude, if you're that against mods, because HE'S NOT ADDING IT INTO VANILLA.

Definitely makes the game a lot more sexy. :biggrin.gif:

Without a bunch of random divets and spiky hills of doom every square kilometer, it makes it feel more REAL and altogether massive.

Crossing through huge plains with epic music in the background will probably make up the better half of my Minecraft experience.

    The other half is sailing.

posted a message on When 1.8 comes out what are you doing first?
Spawn worlds until I get a largish-island with a central mountain (I'm picky :33), conquer the island, go set sail to find a continent, conquer a small section of said continent, and build a bridge back to my island.

And then I will proceed to have good times.

    MCEdit is your friend.

Just put your hard work on a floating island or something, and copypasta it into a new world.

I personally like the concept of a hunger bar, ESPECIALLY on peaceful.

It gives you something to do, and a reason to actually do farming.

posted a message on Terrain Generation: 1.8 and 1.9
While there probably are going to be some modifications (IE, Notch saying that mushroom forests will be "more epic" later on (maybe 1.9)), I don't think they'll be major enough. I would personally put almost, if not all, my terrain generation into one half rather than just putting random bits and pieces in both, as that would tick people off.

    Quote from ninjap0wz

It's been a while since their last update, and 1.8 probably will be coming in at least a week or so.

I would call that "taking their time"

I heard it's supposed to be this week, though I could be wrong.

I think it's just that they're happy with Vanilla as it is, or simply with the plethora of mods they have.

And on that day, all the citizens of Minecraftia moved to Atlantis.

They probably are immune to fire. And they don't have to DIE in the sunlight- they could just disappear. They already do a ton of teleporting anyway.

Besides, then you could just wait around for them to die if they drop anything valuable or important.

posted a message on Everything in 1.8 HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE
Mods usually aren't Multiplayer-compatible, and when they are, it's more up to them than it is to you to get it in and working.

Mods are unstable, mods are time-consuming, and mods certainly aren't that intercompatible.

posted a message on What is your most anticipated thing about 1.8?
    Continents, islands, and oceans, honestly.

I've always wanted to start off on a really cool island of a moderate size, and then build a bridge off to a new land or continent.

    So cool.

Everything else is close behind, though.

posted a message on Is it worth it to start a new map on 1.8?
I don't think that 1.9 is supposed to be big on terrain generation, though to be fair, I'm not sure what's supposed to be in it.

Worst-case scenario, MCEdit is your friend.

This is what I've been worrying over myself.

I would think that general advancement would hopefully dictate that it makes things better, but in the worst-case scenario, I hope it stays the same. My computer is pretty poor. :c

    Yes.

    Slenderman for the win.

If it made Slenderman scarier, it would totally make Endermen scarier.

    This would be so awesome.
