posted a message on What has happened to the Mods Pages?

No matter which way I try to get to it, I can't bring up the mods/plugins/modpacks/texturepacks etc menu in the format it's been in for years.

    And was yesterday.

Even going into browser history hasn't helped - it just says page not found.

Everything just brings me to a new layout which is awful, especially when compared to the previously well-menued, easy to navigate layout.

    Anyone know what's going on?

I mean, seriously? Just look at this useless mess https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods?filter-game-version=&filter-sort=popularity

ReC can have an impact on world generation speed, but it's usually not too noticeable (except for the occasional lag spikes when generating large structures). After world generation it ceases to have any impact - so if you pre-generate some terrain before playing you should be good.
Some people also like to disable treeLeavesDecay in the config since they have problems with the block tick lag otherwise.

WOW! That was a fast response! I am seriously impressed.
I have only just started up this world so what you say makes sense even to my limited understanding of things technical.
    Thank you so much :)

P.S. I am still travelling around looking for a good site for my Mine Colnies base – but keep getting sidetracked exploring your fantastic structures. I still only have stone axe/pickaxe etc lol. But I can’t help it – they just lure me in :P

UPDATE: I should have been more patient - all settling down now.

If you hadn't posted a reply I'd have been fiddling around with earlier versions and installing Optifine and all sorts.

Just want you to know how helpful it is to have had a response.

Hi, I've just started with this mod and am having lag problems. Mega apologies if this has been asked before but there are 200+ pages to read through.

I absolutely love this mod and want to play it.

Could it be conflicting with any of the other mods I've added?

Biomes O'Plenty, Journey Map, Mine Colonies, JEI and HWYLA.

Note: I have installed Minecolonies 1.12.2 Beta.

    CPU: Intel Core i7 7700K @ 4.20Ghz

    RAM: 16GB

    OS: Win 10 (64 bit)

    Single player.

posted a message on SuperMiner - Making mining easier...

Is there any way to set the 'magnet' part (I think it's called a Captivator) of the mod to toggle on/off?

It's a superb mod, an absolute godsend for the mining/chopping grind.

My only problem is picking up stuff I don't want to when I'm not mining/chopping.

The other mod I am using is Actually Additions which requires you to drop stuff on the ground in front of the Atomic Reconstructor, and no matter how fast I move, the Captivator always pick it up again before I can zap it lol.

The only solution I have found so far is to remove Super Miner and replace it every time I want to use the Atomic Reconstructor.

I had a quick look at the config but can only see to set the Captivator on or off. I'm hoping someone brighter than me has a solution.

    1 mods folder...

    in it a

    /1.11.2 folder

    and

    /1.12.2 folder.

    Look at your /versions folder...

    Just like that.

I know - it's so simple (like me lol). I was thrown by the new loading screen but once I found Launch Options, all is good :)

posted a message on Two Different Forge Versions?

If I have 2 versions of Forge 1.12.2 and 1.11.2, and want to use some of the same mods in each version, do I just put both versions of the mods in my mods folder?

Or do I create 2 mods folders and change them according to which version I want to play?

    Or something else?

You can also drag items out of the inventory GUI to drop them.

I always manage to accidentally pick them up again lol

    Many thanks Augit and Shel.

I did one play in Creative mode (but it's not for me, I'm a lousy builder and like a challenge) so that must be where I remembered it from. AH well, no biggie

You may just have saved my Q key.

I am a recent returner to Minecraft and forgotten most of what I knew!

So I’d be grateful for some info.

    Dumping Inventory:

I don’t seem to have that handy little inventory dustbin anymore.

At the moment I am dumping things I don’t need into a small lava pit, one item at a time (which is a pain when you need to dump 10 stacks of dirt), and I’ll break my Q key at this rate.

Is there a way to get the dustbin back? Or is there a way to ”throw” an entire stack?

    Uses for eggs:

Any new uses for eggs other than cakes (I have more food than I’ll ever need already)?

The only reason I haven’t killed off my chickens yet is that the sheep will be watching.

But soon I'll be drowning in a sea of eggs.

I'm sure there will be more questions, but those are the most pressing at the moment/

posted a message on Game got very laggy

UPDATE: There was a Windows 10 Update today, and following those I usually check my drivers are up to date.

My gfx driver wasn't so I updated it.

Since then the lag is gone, other than the occasional stutter, but, if memory serves, that is part and parcel of the Minecraft experience.

I forgot rule no. 1: if you're having problems, first check your drivers :(

Can I get your game log?

I've looked up how to find my game logs.
But don't know what they contain - is there any personal data in them?

I'm a PC dummy. I'd really appreciate some help.

Lag has improved since I removed Botania - all the other mods I have are pretty lightwieght.

But the confusing thing is when I used to play on a less powerful PC, I had many heavyweight mods like Thaumcraft etc. and had no lag issues.
