sure you don't need /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_112.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java ?
Yeah, I tried /jre/bin/java and it triggered the "Java update" minecraft screen. Using /bin/java works, so I'll give it a testing run and see if I crash and if it's stable.
So, now using : /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_112.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java
Homebrew successfuly installed another virutal machine in the /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/ directory... So alongside java 1.6, I now have 1.8 as well in there. I'll give it a test, we'll see how it goes.
Doesn't launch when using /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_112.jdk/Contents/Home sadly...
I resorted to using the java version being in /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/bin/java
I have not been able to make it crash again, but I do get huge lagspike and 1 FPS spikes at time... Need to switch graphics to Fancy>Fast>Fancy to kinda "reset" it, until I get other lagspikes...
I did try uninstalling, but there seem to always be some "traces" left. I'll check with Homebrew, since I think I have one already installed.

Why does it still says openjdk in the identifier line?
i see you are using openjdk. sometimes, oracle java is more stable, so you might want to try it instead.
Just got back from some vacation and went back to MC; I still get some crashes. I red this reply and I'm wondering how do I go about changing this? From openjdk to Oracle I mean...
And old or new launcher, I still crash after a while...

Tried with Legacy launcher, I got multiple Java Update warnings, even though latest version is installed. It also breaks my Macro Mod GUIs. I haven't tested if it was running fine in those "large forests" that crashes me yet.
Can I simply take the Profile Java Settings > Executable and change that line to latest java version so it uses 1.8 instead of 1.6? (I will try that anyway)
Edit:
So yes, you can use Legacy launcher and still have it use the New launcher's Java version (in my case, Executable is now set to /Applications/Minecraft.app/Contents/runtime/jre-x64/1.8.0_74/bin/java in the Legacy launcher's profile I'm using).
The Macro Mod GUI works and no "Java update" message from the Legacy launcher or from the game.
Some corrupted chunks (chunks that do not render, but exists/can be walked on - I think it's something else, because it's been doing that for a while) but so far, game stable. I will probably do some more tests before I can safely say it's "fixed".

My JVM arguments are pretty basic (and I tested without, I still crash too) : -Xmx4G -Xms4G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy
I play on a iMac (Late 2013), Updated to Sierra yesterday (but I was crashing prior to this...)
Model Identifier: iMac14,2
Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 3.2 GHz

Total Number of Cores: 4
Memory: 8 GB
Graphique Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M

I seem to be able to reproduce the crash in large custom built forests (with trees being 100block tall). On a regular world (non custom map), pretty sure I could crash in a jungle biome. Tried setting graphic to Fast and yet... I crash also.
I can provide more crash reports if requested, but anyone has an idea why I keep crashing the game?

It returns the following :
Unable to find any JVMs matching version "1.8".
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home
So even if I DO have Java installed (according to the Java detection page on the Oracles Website), it doesn't know where to find it?
0
So I removed the "1.6.0.jdk/" folder I had (according to http://docs.oracle.com/javase/8/docs/technotes/guides/install/mac_jdk.html#A1096903), and I'm now launching the "new launcher" (since the legacy launcher NEEDS java 1.6.0.jdk to work). I'll update the topic once done.
After a while, crashed again.
Same Error log kind...
Why does it still says openjdk in the identifier line?

Week was busy, i was just able to play a bit today, to test the settings.
So far, it's a bit more stable with VBO on, using Legacy launcher with latest Java version.
Mem: is always around 18-33% out of the 4 GO
Allocated : 100% / 4019mb
Is it worth mentionning I run it windowed?
I still managed to crash, but it looks like it's the OS, not MC directly (here's the apple report)

I think it is the New launcher... I will try the old one and update the topic probably tomorow.

My Mac is not really crashing, it's pretty stable... I believe it might be Java doing its thing, but I don't know what to look for...
Here is one of the MC Crashlog.

Greetings
I was crashing a lot with only Forge+Optifine and Liteloader, so I switch to Vanilla for testing, and I still crash.

Perhaps this has been suggested, but can this mod auto-unequip almost broken down equipements (armor, weapon) and put them back in inventory?

I am wondering if there are any version or updates in the making for 1.9.4?
I really like that clipboard module and since I know not how to play around in those .JAR files, I cannot look to update it myself...
