Ok, so last question before I order stuff. Once the power is unplugged from the PSU and the PSU switch is off, I won't have to worry about getting shocked inside of the computer? There are no parts that can hold a charge, apart from the insides of the PSU?

    Or
    http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=758532

The Corsair one is a bit more expensive (again, not a problem) but it is gold rated, while the XFX is bronze rated. Both are modular (which I want). Any idea which one? Also, would both PSU's come with enough cables?

I'd go with something like a Rosewill Hive, it may be cheaper or more expensive, I don't know as I can't tell what language that is.

Unfortunately the selection of electronics is very limited in Norway. The only available PSU brands are Corsair, Cooler Master, Fractal, XFX, Silver Power, Chieftec, Silverstone and Streacom. And very limited amounts of PSU's for each brand too.

    Also, norwegian.

Yeah, price is not an issue. I want something good that will last me a long time, and can possibly be brought over to future builds.

Anyways, current specs (I bought this computer way back before I knew anything, at the point where I thought that high numbers = good)

    AMD FX-8150
Radeon HD 6950 (it's actually 2x, but I broke the fan on one)
    16GB Corsair 1600MHz RAM
    Gigabyte 990FXA UD3
Unknown brand 750W PSU (which is why I'm changing) (it's actually Chieftec but it seems to be of horrendous quality and my computer won't boot so I'm changing it)
    Crucial 64GB SSD
    2TB WD drive
    2x Regular ODD's

Considering the new AMD Piledrivers still run on the AM3+ socket do you think it would be a good choice to upgrade? I find that my system is starting to lag behind in games, so an upgrade is needed.

Also, using pcpartpicker.com gives you the cheapest price for the parts.

In my last thread I had some conflicting opinions, and I never really got any answer on which PSU I should get, from THIS list. Ignore the price and most of the page, a little bit down there is a list of PSU's. They have been sorted between 500W-699W. I'm currently thinking THIS one. It's modular and 80+ gold, but tell me your opinion first.

Also, if I was to buy a new PSU, would I have to rewire the ENTIRE thing? If I had to, could somebody just make a short list of which wires I would need and where they should go?

Care to elaborate? What do you mean with ''look bad''? Is everything blurry? Are there weird lines on your screen? Are there black borders around it?

If the screen is all blurry and everything is large, go to the desktop, right click, screen resolution and then pull the slider all the way up.

Haha, I would get another headphone if I could, but it brings back the problem that it's almost impossible to find a mic in Norway, and I need one for Vent (community), Teamspeak (clan) and Skype (friends). The PC360 is the only headset on the list, so that's what I have to go for. The closest store that has the Audiotechnica AT2020 would be ~5 hours drive from here (amazon dosen't ship to our adress), and the closest Zalman ZM-Mic 1 is some ~3 hours away.

Also, one last question about the PC360. What happens once sound is up high and you listen to (just an example) songs? With most headsets I have had so far it generates loads of static on such songs, causing horrendous sound quality.

I have decided to buy a new PSU, but I didn't really get a definite answer on which model I should get. Antec and Silverstone are not available, so they are not options. Just use the list I linked further up.

    (also double post, kill me)

I am here with an audio question. I'm looking for a new headset. My current one is an godawful ''gaming'' headset from Steelseries (songs create much static, directional gaming is horrible, the general sound quality is way down low, sound is high pitched and mic is absolutely horrible), that I got as a present from my kind and loving mother... yay...

So I'm tired of having ''cheap'' sound for my computer, and I want something new and price is not an issue. I wanted an all-round headset that was decent at everything. On the list eftj posted I started from the bottom (most expensive) and worked my way upwards. The first 2 require amp, and I'm not interested in having loads of extra sound-equipment past the headset itself. Then I looked at the Sennheiser HD598, and I would get that one if not for the fact that it had no mic (it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to find a mic in Norway, trust me). So I looked at the next alternative, the Sennheiser PC360 G4ME, and I have some questions about it past the short description that is already here.

    1. Is it as open as the 598?
    2. Why is it cheaper than the 598, while it has a mic and the 598 does not? What differences are there besides the mic?
    3. How is the bass?
    4. How are the drivers? Which customization options would follow?
    5. Mic quality? Would it be equal to or better than the Zalman ZM-Mic1 (the only option I have)?

Anything that is handled client-side can easily be modded, so a cache system wouldn't work.

    1. Mojang is NOT in any way a large company that is capable of doing very many things. Last I checked Mojang was compromised of 14 half-decent programmers, and although they probably did hire some more people lately I highly doubt there have been major changes.

    2. The minecraft servers are run by Amazon, which is one of the best hosts in the world. The best uptime and the most powerful servers one can rent.

    3. If you remove the authentication servers ANYBODY can go and play Minecraft whenever the servers are down. You wouldn't want that, would you?

It's kind of expensive, around 115€. I know stuff in Norway isn't but a power supply shouldn't cost that much. Isn't there any other retailer where you could get it from? I mean really, you could get a 650W gold power supply shipped from Germany including the post fees for that price.

Norwegian price of electronics is about 1.5 times more expensive than American prices. To put it another way, the GTX 680 is 660$, the HAF 912 is 120$ and so on. The aforementioned PSU is about 140$, and that's a decent price. I'm not willing to cheap out on a PSU again and have the whole thing blow up on me. So I'm probably going to get that PSU unless anybody protests.

And just importing electronics into Norway is a 25% increase in price (MOMS), and then all kinds of taxes need to be paid. Norway isn't cheap.

To be honest, I don't think I quite understand the problem yet. Are you actually able to run a single card without any stability issues, even under load?

No. When I try to boot up absolutely nothing happens at all. All fans start spinning normally, but the GPU fan just turns on and off every ~1.5 seconds. I have tried removing one GPU and using only the other, and then reversing it and use only the first GPU, and then I tried in different PCI slots on the motherboard but I still have the same problem. There is no image on the monitor and I don't even think it POSTs, although I'm not really sure.

Hah, sadly I live in Norway. You would have to choose a PSU from THIS list. Just ignore the fact that most of the website (and the prices) are in norwegian. The parts should be the same as in english and the price is not an issue (I set aside about 15000NOK for this, ~2500$).
