Hi all, I'm currently learning JavaScript and this is my first real project. I thought the Minecraft community might find this useful to quickly plan builds and pixel art before embarking on the journey in Minecraft.
It should work on desktop or mobile browsers. The screen grab below gives you an idea of what it looks like. It's still in the very early stages so feel free to give any feedback!

Summary
I've created and managed many Minecraft servers since I started playing in 2010. This is a game that I've grown up with and truly love. I'm passionate about making a difference in the world and feel like this is a great and fun way to do that. CharityCraft is structured to be long lasting while building a strong community.
The Goal
The goal of CharityCraft raise money for charity while building a strong and social community.
Encouraging people to donate while keeping the game balanced and fun is a very crucial part of this concept. There are only two roles in the server, "Visitor" which is anyone who joins and "Member" which is anyone who has donated. It was important to me that donating more to charity doesn't make you better or different from others who can only donate the minimum amount.
CharityCraft has a two-world system, the default world for everyone is called the "Wilderness" and the Members only world is called "Sanctuary". The Wilderness is basically semi-vanilla Minecraft with mcMMO enabled.
On the 1st of each month the Wilderness (along with the End and Nether) are completely deleted and regenerated.
This Encourages Visitors to become Members so they don't lose their creations
Ensures a steady supply of rare resources to the server
As Minecraft updates our Members can experience the new world generators without losing their creations
mcMMO levels are not reset so there is still a sense of progression for Visitors
Sanctuary is never reset so player creations and items will always remain
Sanctuary is similar to the Wilderness except it's only accessible by Members, plot protection is available, PVP is off and weather is off. The idea is that Sanctuary will be a place to build your home and large player creations in peace. When you are looking to fight, explore and gather resources you will warp to the Wilderness.

Hi all, for the past few years I've been toying with the idea of creating a server that accepts donations and using any profits for charity (most likely children's hospitals).
My MCForum account is now 8+ years old and I've had the pleasure of hosting many different servers in that time so I'm very familiar with the process and struggles that come along with it.
I'm reaching out to the community here with a handful of questions since it's been a few years since I've hosted my last server and I know a lot has changed.
---
-What hosting platforms are the major players in the space now? Any that you would recommend?
-Is Java version still viable or is the majority of the community onto Bedrock now?
-Any name suggestions? Thinking CharityCraft, or CommunityCraft or something along those lines
-I plan to do a Bukkit/Spigot/Paper server. Any suggestions between these 3?
-Any plugin suggestions? I want the least amount of plugins to keep maintenance to a minimum. Server will be semi-vanilla.
I would recommend talking to the server admins at famcraft.com.
When my 6 year old grandson was ready to start playing on a server I did a lot of research to find one that was well both from a technical perspective as well as handling kids "the right way". Once I narrowed it down to a couple I tested them myself for a month before taking my grandson into it. The Famcraft server was the one that impressed me the most then and it keeps impressing me to this date.
So, if you are trying to learn how to run a server well... you might as well learn from the best.
Thank you for the info! I've hosted many servers so the technical side isn't the issue - definitely just asking for idea on the game side since so much has changed over the last couple of years.
Hi all, I'm working to setup a Minecraft server (Java edition) for a children's hospital in Florida. I've been playing Minecraft since the Beta in 2010. I'm very excited to be able to bring this game to the next generation of kids who could really use an outlet away from their day-to-day lives in the hospital.
I've been away from Minecraft for the last couple of years so I'm posting here to gather any ideas for the best spawns, seeds, bukkit plugins and any other ideas that everyone has. The goal is to keep the server as simple and vanilla as possible so that the world does not have to be reset and the maintenance of the server is minimal. The server will only be accessible by the kids who are in the hospital and won't be open to the public.
I am far too busy to maintenance my low population server. It's formed a really great community and I want to do everything I can to keep it up and running. The server pretty much runs itself, but I am looking for someone who can update the server file and related plugins. The ideal candidate would have previous experience setting up and running bukkit servers.

Anything better than the current banner would be great. The one I like the most I will give free [VIP] in the server. If it is animated and I pick it, you will get free [Elite].
