Do you offer a trial server? (few days/month)? How long have you been hosting? Do you have long term goals? Will you be here in a year, 2 years, 10? If you were to close would you tell your customers before so they could move somewhere else with out losing everything?
Current host never emails about anything ever which causes me much worry that one day they will just be up and gone with no warning.
Good questions, I will try to answer them as candidly as possible.
If we were to close, we would certainly tell our hosters about it. We keep enough funds in "cold storage" to sustain us for a while, and if there was any sort of emergency resulting in our closing, we would certainly keep the servers up long enough for all our customers to get their files and configs off, and find a new host. I believe I can speak for most all of us when I say that our main motivating factor is enjoyment on both sides, not profit, so there would be no point in us closing down suddenly and without warning - it might save a few pennies, but would leave a very bad legacy. As our website says, "We enjoy doing this, and we think you should too."
We maintain a pretty consistent email contact. We don't try to spam your inbox, but we do send information if there is an emergency of some sort, or if there are changes that need to be made to your server. We also send out a monthly newsletter (such as the one above) which is - surprisingly - good to read, as it always contains some sort of giveaway along with our most recent R&D updates and releases. And we have very good support if you have any questions, which is something the majority of people talk about in their manytestimonialsaboutus.
As for permanency, we have no plans of closing. Currently, we have enough financial redundancies to ensure that a disruption in one sector would not resulting in the entire service going down. It would take a very extreme set of cases to force us to close entirely - we are not one of the dime-a-dozen "boom and bust" companies. At the moment we are still increasing our services at a healthy pace, and have opened up servers at a new location just this past week.
Our overall company has been alive and active for about two years now, without notable disruptions aside from a recent rebranding for more Minecraft-specific services.
We do not offer a trial server, though we have a demo server available. Message me if you would like the IP for that; though we do have DoS protection, we'd prefer not to have to use it too often.
Well, there's nearly 500 words. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask on here, Live Chat, or tickets!

Hello! Starting last month, we began featuring servers which are hosted on Host-Seed, as our Multicraft panel background. They also make great wallpapers, so we're posting them here for your enjoyment! This thread will be updated every month with the most recent creations.
We offer 3GB servers for $18, and 2GB for $13 (no in-between, sorry). If you have any questions feel free to talk to us on Live Chat. Here's our Minecraft forums topic, or you can click the image below to go to our website.
@Fingo: Let's take this in PM, so we don't clog up the forums
For everyone: Due to the high interest in server of the month sponsored images on our Multicraft, we're having bidding! Bid now if you're interested in gaining exposure to 12,000 pageviews per month!
Our current nodes have 3.4GHz Intel Xeon CPUs and SSDs in RAID. Guaranteed 100mpbs uplink
Upcoming nodes will be larger, with Dual Intel Xeon L5520 CPUs (4.54 GHz in total; twice the number of cores), SSDs with large HDDs for server backups, and a 100Mbps uplink.
Un-related to the hosting itself but relating to your website, the background color of your logo is slightly different to that of the div it is within.
May I ask where?
Ps. in the future, please send a PM instead of posting a reply. thanks!
New wallpaper! A bit off topic so to speak, but here's something we created as a filler image for our website background advertising promotion (visible at https://host-seed.com/multicraft). One of our owners created this town as part of a personal project, to eventually be a Citizens and VariableTrigger powered RPG game.
It only took about fifteen minutes to render on my personal computer (Intel i7 3930K). The DoF and other photometric effects were just "fake" - added in Photoshop afterwards. E.g., the DoF is just a lens-blurred layer with the scene's depth map as its mask.
Did you used the ocean-simulation?
Nope, it was a manually-created material, using displacement maps and bump maps for finer detail.
And uh, would you consider making more? these are beautiful
Thanks :3 If you have any suggestions on what to make next, I'd be happy to grant your request consideration.
After we created the header image for our server hosting website, we didn't want to let the nice image go to waste. So we made it into a wallpaper! Here you go, feel free to use and share it, just don't claim it as your own or modify it in any way, except resizing it for your personal use. Rendered in Blender. If you run multiple monitors or have one of those fancy Retina displays, and would like larger sizes rendered, post here and I'll see what I can do.
