DuhDerp posted a message on is this laptop can run minecraft at maximum ?Posted in: Building, Parts & PeripheralsYes, if by maximum you mean plain vanilla with no shaders (probably not super HD resource packs, either) or other mods.

Ben_Goldberg posted a message on Semi-intangible blockPosted in: SuggestionsThis idea is fairly simple: what if there were a block which players and mobs could walk through, but was tangible in every other way? (could be placed and broken like an ordinary block, could be pushed by pistons, etc)

TheMasterCaver posted a message on Reverted Wool TexturesPosted in: SuggestionsYou can always use a resource pack to revert to the old textures; open up the jar for an older version and extract the textures (located in assets\minecraft\textures\blocks; they have names like wool_colored_black and are the last files when listed in alphabetical order) and place them in a resource pack with the same path inside (only the textures you want to change are required).
http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/Creating_a_resource_pack
Note that some colors are hard-coded into the game, such as wool on sheep, so you would need a mod to change them, but the colors of most blocks are not (I'd expect that Mojang would eventually let you change the internal colors with a resource pack, or perhaps the "data packs" I saw mentioned for 1.13). - To post a comment, please login.

Well you'll definitely get the attention of LOTR fans but it may be slightly, shall we say, off-putting to those who do not like LOTR. You do not have to fully commit to a theme but people who hear about your server may think you did. But if you only "advertise" it as <whatever it's called> but don't mention the theme do anyone (outside your circle of friends, supporters, etc., that is) then you may get more people, and if people recognize Edoras then great and they'll tell their friends who presumably like LOTR too. But people who don't will just assume it another medieval-ish server. I heard about a restaurant that used this tactic and it worked great for them, servers are more than a little like mini businesses, they need people in order to thrive and the more people the better.
I hope this helps and that it wasn't too boring.

Yes.
You need test-for player command and some sort of command to give them a book, sorry I don't know how to do that but yes, it is possible.

Mojang has to add new updates to minecraft for two reasons, 1 it keeps people interested and 2 it sells better that way. They want to make money and adding new things is the way to do it. As someone who is constantly switching between 1.7.10 and 1.12 I fully understand why people think mojang is adding too much, Some things I like some things I don't...
Prismarine and such = Good
Better boats = Yes!
More doors = Yes!
Combat update = Terrible, but I get used to it.
Concrete = Yes!
New wool textures = So much better than the old.
Glazed terracotta = Cool.
Recipe book = Annoying, useless.
Inventory updates = Fine I guess.

I don't like "smeared" or blurry texture, some peoples skins are bad enough without have that for the blocks. I probably will make 1.12 into a texturepack for myself.

Well, to answer your first question, here is a more detailed version of my idea: Players could summon player-mobs with a command and determine whether the mob was peaceful, neutral, or hostile, and decide exactly what player they wanted. Think of it as a special mob that adopts the skin of a player of your choice, they could also pick up items the way zombies do. To answer your second question: Kind of, but it wouldn't be much worse than just the heads. Even something as simple as a creeper head behind the door of someone's house can give them a pretty good jump-scare (I've done it, it's awesome). As for your third thing, someone could just photoshop DanTDM into a screen-shot. Besides, everyone would know about it from the update and so I seriously doubt anyone would be dumb enough to be fooled by something like that.

I DO NOT like the new combat system. I would advise not making a thread like this because you will be mowed down by the charge-up lovers, they all say that people don't like change, this is not true, I like everything about the new version (except the charge-up obviously).

What if we could summon peaceful mobs that looked like players, instead of putting your head in a map you could get your whole skin.
Example: /summon player_mob peaceful {DanTDM}

Several months ago I was mining and got ten diamonds, stacks of iron ore, and lots of gold, I predicted I would probably fall in lava and die... I'm sure you know what happened next.
The funny thing was that I wasn't even angry of frustrated or anything, I had predicted my down-fall and my prediction came true. BTW I didn't play the world for like three weeks.

Reading all these is so funny!

I go to that site all the time, so far I haven't found anything, also you can't always tell exactly what kind of a map it is from the pictures and description or even from the comments.
