Okay so I'm jumping into this discussion in the middle and I have not read all 5 pages to please excuse and repetition.
I do not want a "twitch" account neither do I want my MC Forum account linked to one, I just want to have my normal basic standard Forum account. If I don't merge my account will it disappear because if it will I'll go somewhere else like planet minecraft.
I know what you're going to say "You don't need to use your twitch account, you just need to have it." while this is true I would rather not get a "twitch" account. I don't even know what "twitch" is!

So I'm doing some testing of MC servers in preparation for when I hope to host a little server for my friends and family. I've already posted a thread about this, but I'm making a new one for some new issues and I'll add any additional problems I encounter them.
Problem #1: My .bat file with minecraft.net's provided command doesn't seem to be giving the server any more RAM, it still says something like "204 mb (38% free)" implying I'm getting only ~500 mb for my server. In my .bat file I have the following command "java -Xmx1024M -Xms2048M -jar server.jar nogui". Task manager shows the sever as taking all 2048 MB, but the server's little graph in the top left, says otherwise.
Problem #2: I'm not sure how critical this is, but if I try to open the server via that same .bat file (which I'm told should work) it opens for a slit-second and then disappears...
Problem #3: I can't change my IP to be static without my internet access mysteriously disappearing.

This actually happened exactly one day less than a year ago. I had to go to a presentation along with all the other students in my grade. We went to the presentation room and the presenter started. It was all fine until I saw one of her slides proclaiming "Its safe". Well naturally, I wasn't going to stand for this, my hand shot up, "Yes? You in the back?" "There should be an apostrophe there." I pointed. 500+ kids let out a long "Ooooohhh." The presenter, being somewhat embarrassed, said "Okay, I only made this 15 minutes ago." I don't think I've ever felt more satisfied in my life.

I've been wanting to host a server for my family and a few friends for a while now. However, I realized that I might run into bandwidth limitations. I plan to host the server on a computer separate from the one I'll be playing on. I plan on having ~3 players locally and <4 elsewhere. What kinds of upload/download speeds would I need for this?

Umm... It didn't work.

Would I just make the colourmap all white, all black, all transparent, or the grey colour I want the dust to be?

I'm doing a build that requires me to re-texture redstone dust (placed), after have a difficult time getting the texture to work, I discovered that it's still red(ish). I need it to be the the colour I made the texture - dark grey. How do I do this?

Minecraft will favour one thread but can use many more; my laptop, which has an 8-thread processor, will run Minecraft with one thread almost maxed and the others at 30%-40%. Go for the quad-core.

I've been experimenting with Minecraft 1.13.2 optimization after noticing dramatically lower FPS in all 1.13 versions while all other versions run just fine. The culprit is my CPU, it is pegged at 100% while my GPU hovers around 40%. I'm just not sure why 1.13 versions are so much more CPU-intensive.

This seems to be common bug. My friend had no sound in Minecraft ever, and I have experienced this myself on a few occasions.

Again. What's you budget? What do you want to play?

What's your budget? Desktop or laptop?

How can I turn off secure boot on a computer which I cannot login to and cannot access the BIOS of?

That said, you can get lucky sometimes, I got a Dell precision M4500 for $30, but it required another $65 of repairs and parts and still has no battery, that all added to the fact that that kind of luck is rare.

I know it seems rather unlikely but I think it could help make very good shaders, so maybe a thing for the shaders mod and optifine?
What are your thoughts?

I'd go for the 8100, 4 threads is plenty for Minecraft. That said both of those should run Minecraft very well.
