Sure, you'll say that you don't really do it for the rep, but in the end when you say something like "look at all this free rep!" and only that as a post then it's pretty much spam and you're only doing it for the rep.
To be perfectly honest with you, I don't give a **** about reputation but clear rep abuse like that should by all means be punished.

Well, every time "I" break the rules, instead of getting a warning, either the thread gets locked or someonelse gets banned. And then I feel bad about it.
