Anyone have any idea if Endermen attack on sight now as opposed to having to look at them first?

Secondly the hunger is still way OverPowered, considering that the undead kill all of the animals around you, and theres no other way to get food, so the only possible way to survive is slaughter every animal you see before the mobs do?

That above seems just a tad bit excessive.

Realism isn't involved. Seriously man, you aren't considering your options, or playing accordingly. You're just complaining reflexively based on a lack of understanding of how the game works.

For example, if animals run away when you try to repeatedly punch them, perhaps you should make a weapon like an axe? If you're starving too quickly, maybe you should consider conserving your energy instead of sprinting and jumping everywhere?

There are in-game solutions to each of your in-game problems, but you seem opposed to even trying to look for them. Will I take complaints that stem from that seriously? Of course not. That isn't elitism, that's just common sense.

I actually had an Iron sword which I think I got 6 hits out of.
I have played this mod in the past and expect difficulty, but the hunger thing is out of control.

No man...you just suck at it.

Try to actually play, think about what you're doing and what's getting you killed, and adjust your style to fit the changes instead of running around like a lunatic thinking you're playing vanilla, and you may be surprised at how much fun you wind up having.

The progression is now designed so that the most reasonable time to try and find a populated village is *after* you gain access to the nether. If you're trying to run straight for one at the start, you really aren't thinking about how to survive under the new conditions. They're in no way required in order to survive, they just act as a means to upgrade your food sources in the later game.

I don't even play vanilla so really that elitist attitude is not going to work on me.

If you want to go for reality here the human species does not starve in 1 single day night cycle

Watch a BTW let's play and you will see that sprinting toward the nearest village should be pretty low on your priority list early-game. I recommend Icynewyear's (Icyopolis, not Better than Icy) or Magikeh's. Don't ruin your play experience by installing a cheat mod; the early game is meant to be a struggle to survive, and it can be very fun if you let it.

I am pretty much used to deal with early game struggles, even trying to make a furnace will cause you to die before you run out of hunger let alone trying to kill animals that all scatter now straight lines away from you, whatever, this mod is not fun anymore.

So I tried out the newer build and have to disagree with the direction it has gone in.

Basically the beginning of the game is pick a direction, and run, if you find a village, congrats you are now able to actually play the game.

If you dont then just stand around and die until it is daylight again hell might as well cheat with console commands and make it daylight, I see absolutely no reason for this punishment, theres absolutely nothing to learn from it, it's boring.

Come to think of it I suppose I will just hack in flying mode and find the village so I can get on enjoying the changes made to the mod.

I didn't build next to a river because i prefer building in forrest or mountain biomes, both of wich rivers almos never spawn in.
I do know that your intention for the hardcore water feature was good, i like the idea of trying to find a good area that provides wood and water but i am a builder, i love building nordic style villages or medieval cities with grand stone walls around them and a nice river flowing through it and this feature just makes everything surrounding building a choir.
Another thing to mention is that because water only spawns at level 64 and below and there is no way of getting water to move upwards you can not build a farm over Y-64

Now can we please stop arguing about such a pointless thing? I respect you for your independens and i absolutely adore your mod, only thing that is missing is an options gui allowing you to turn of the hardcore features without having to exit the game.

Modloader is necessary for the mod to work but you can not install BTW by dragging it into the '' Mods '' folder you have to do it manually or get MCPatcher.

I got it installed by putting it into the jar, the old way, anyway where are you supposed to put the config file? thats kind of vague in the instructions.

Bah nevermind, i see its optional, the console was throwing an error thought it NEEDED the config file.

I have not been able to get this to work and really don't want to install it over the default directory.
I was trying to use MultiMC and it seemed to make no difference at all, even tried to point the installer.exe at the instance folder, no change, could never get the moving grass or trees to work either.
