yes, except that the real life is not relevant to a game, especially minecraft. i don't undestand what you are saying, sitting around near your huge farm doesn't encourage exploring at all. what you are saying is that you can focus on a build, except that is like creative mode. the resources are practically given to you, and not much achievement is found.
what's the big deal on such a small change?
Why must someone HAVE to explore exactly? Also ... why would a farm stop someone from exploring? I still explore and I use farms o.o. It never stopped me from checking out what is beyond my town. I still mine. Farms never stopped me from mining, I still need other ores I can't get from farms.
As for real life not being relevant ... correct me if I am wrong .. but it is humans playing video games right? That automatically brings in real life relevance. If humans like to do a particular thing in real life .. chances are you will see the same behaviors in video games. Humans progress always trying to create bigger and better. So of course it is relevant to minecraft since it's pretty much about creating.
As for it being like creative mode? NO ... not even close. We still work for what we build. It simply isn't given to us. We like to start from nothing and grow into something big.
It's also not a small change, it's a pretty big change because we don't know if this is going to continue. How do we know they are going to stop here? What if they nerf even more and more red stone farms. It's a very big deal to those who find enjoyment out of creating these contraptions. Just as it would be a big deal to you if they removed a specific part of minecraft that you particularly enjoy.

So? Age doesn't determine your maturity.
