Always remember, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't." Then ask yourself, "Is there any reason I would list an auction on eBay that's going to lose me 7€?"
The problem with that is that alot of people who complain about that DON'T know how to stop updates
BTW I agree that something has happened to the community, it had a very friendly atmosphere, but, idk it just seems to be losing that feel
Not that it has anything to do with the OP, but maybe Notch should add a line to the update screen that says, "If you use mods, pushing this button to update your Minecraft will break all of them."
It wouldn't stop anyone from pressing or complaining, but we'd get more lulz pointing and laughing at them.
