Disable your AV for 5-10 minutes while playing minecraft.
Sound files download while playing, not as part of the update. Many AV block the download.
AVG is well known for blocking the sound download. In AVG you can just disable the Link Scan portion and it will download. Some firewalls also block the sound download. When I had zonealarm I had to lower the global security level in order for the sound download to make it.
Well I don't know what other post you are talking about, but I'd guess he is talking about the linux launcher which is a jar.
I was using it for a bit to work with a certain program I used for recording. I didn't have any performance differences however.
And to comment on my earlier post. MultiMC works just fine from a USB drive. Before I upgraded my HDDs I was running MultiMC of a 3.0 USB thumbdrive. (It was faster then my HD..)
Posts on how to use a mod are better suited to the mods thread on the forums, we are more about helping people get clients and modded clients running with out errors.
But as far as I know, Too Many Items has always been pretty bad at handling spawners. Not Enough Items does a much better job with spawners.
Not to completely change the subject, but you can use MultiMC to move the install location, rather then using scripts to move it. It also allows you to adjust memory allocated.
The error is stating that there wasn't enough room in memory to reserve the 1G it was trying to reserve. It may be other programs are using most of your memory.
I have no idea what all the log content means but the following seems important.
Failed to write core dump. Minidumps are not enabled by default on client versions of Windows
That only means that portions of the error, where not output into the error file. You need JDK to export the core dump, but it's not needed to diagnose most problems.
And/Or try the tool on the AMD site. http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx
No way it says your drivers are up to date. They aren't even close. They are from 2009..
It could tell you that you need to get drivers from dell, but it doesn't really look like it, since you have the windows default drivers installed right now. Not even the dell factory drivers.

It really is still in windowed mode, but it sets the size to match your monitor, and hides the borders of the window.
