OOM's are usually caused by the rest of your system using up more memory then it has left, rather then minecraft using up what you gave it.
You say you gave minecraft 4G leaving only 2G for your OS and any other apps you may have running.
As soon as the rest of your system tries to take more then the 2G left over RAM, java/minecraft will OOM.
Ok, so I found the right driver and downloaded the update but now when I try to play, my fan kicks in like crazy and after about 10 minutes of play, it starts freezing. I've run another virus scan but it comes up negative. is there something else I'm missing?
Your fan(s) are likely really dirty. They tend to collect dust. Especially if you have pets in the house.
You'll need to buy a can of compressed air, open up the computer and blow the dust/dirt off all the fans in your computer.
You can buy air at pretty much any store that sells electronics. (Walmart/Kmart/Best Buy/etc.)

What problem are you having? There are 3 different problems that have been posted in this thread and your error report isn't showing any problems.
umm.... whats my graphics card called? and what do I search for? just "latest graphics card drivers"?
You'd need to post a dxdiag report, for me to tell you what your graphic card is. (Instructions linked in my signature)
But you can try the auto detect tool. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-us
The file name you have doesn't look legit. (Thaumcraft3.zip) If the file name was edited, who knows if anything else was changed.
The original files from the official source always have the full version number in the zip name. (Thaumcraft3.0.2c.zip)
Try updating forge to build 518 and to the newest optifine.
There was a fix in optifine for the redpower blocks error, but it requires at least build 518 of forge.
2013-02-05 18:06:26 [SEVERE] [ForgeModLoader] There were errors during initial FML setup. Some files failed to download or were otherwise corrupted. You will need to manually obtain the following files from these download links and ensure your lib directory is clean.

You need to download those 4 files, and place them in the .minecraft/lib/ folder. If there is no lib folder create it.
Your AV is likely blocking forge from downloading the files or creating the folder.
It's better to uninstall any versions you have first.
If you need 32 bit for something else, put it back later after you finish testing out this problem

You say you gave minecraft 4G leaving only 2G for your OS and any other apps you may have running.
As soon as the rest of your system tries to take more then the 2G left over RAM, java/minecraft will OOM.
Try allocating less to minecraft. Default <> 2G

You have a toshiba laptop. They messed up the drivers on it. Follow the instructions in this post: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1541017-minecraft-launcher-errors/#entry18829592

If you haven't already, you can use the 'force update' in the launcher options menu (button down by where you enter your email and password).
That will remove any changes you made. (MCpatcher)
If you still get the hs_err_pid files showing up. Post a copy of one of them, and we can try and help you figure out what the problem is.

There are different versions of optifine that are required for different versions of forge.
Something changed in the forge versions 506-516 - Not even sure if there is an optifine version that works for this range.
And then again at 518. The latest optifine from here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/249637-147-optifine-hd-c3-fps-boost-hd-textures-aa-af-and-much-more/
Should work for any forge versions 518+
