posted a message on [Shaders] HELP!
Which actual shaders are you downloading to use?
Some require you to open the zip, and then create a zip of a folder inside. Sonic Ethers being a good example of that.

I doubt it's your card. I'm using a 6850 and it works. I wouldn't think a newer card would have trouble with it.
The screen you posted in the first post, is because the shaders aren't loaded. I had that trouble the first time I tried.

I use MultiMC, but here are some screens of how I get it to work.

Here is the jar install order:

Next. In the .minecraft/shaders folder, you need to place the actual shaders. I have 2 'Sildurs HQ shaders 1.2.1.zip' and 'shaders.zip'
Sildurs come out real bright for me, it's likely I could adjust them and make it better. I didn't play around with it much, as I like Sonic Ethers. Just thought I'd test out a different one here while testing for you.
the shaders.zip is a zip I made by opening up the sonic ethers v08 download and then rezipping the actual shaders from inside it.

Finally. Once in minecraft. Open up Options.
    Then click the shader button

Then select the shaders you want to use.

And one more, just so you can see it in game.

    posted a message on 1.2.5 minecraft.jar unusable
The thing here everyone missed is that the 1.2.5 version of modloader is no longer available.
The one listed in that mediafire, is for Alpha minecraft ver 1.2.5.

I have no idea why it isn't available anymore. Your best bet is to ask in the modloader thread.

You could also try using the last version of forge for 1.2.5 as it had modloader functionality built in, so use forge instead of modloader. But make sure it's one of the last version for 1.2.5

posted a message on Minecraft Crashed (Forge, RenderPlayerAPI)
The 3 files from the tropicraft download go in the mods folder.

Also make sure you have installed. RenderPlayerAPI into the jar after forge.

Are you using the default launcher (Or multiMC or Magic launcher), some of the error log looks like you are using a launcher that isn't compatible with forge, but that could also be caused by renderplayerapi.

posted a message on Minecraft crashes when installing Forestry
    It's an ID conflict.

You need to open the config file for either forestry or forgotten nature, and change the conflicting ID to something else. (Between 256 and 4095)

Not sure why you are having trouble downloading railcraft. Make sure you are gettting the latest version from the railcraft wiki: http://railcraft.wikispaces.com/ You can also try using a different web browser, some don't handle jar files well.
However the error doesn't look related to railcraft at all, it looks like an ID conflict between buildcraft and forestry.
You'd need to open the config file for one of those two and change the conflicting ID to something else. (between 256-4095)

The forums here are the most up to date. It's the mod developers that maintain the threads, so when they update the mod, they update the information here.

You have a very old version of Rei's Minimap. That would explain why that one doesn't work.
You should be using version 3.2_05, that's the version for minecraft 1.4.5.

You should also check that your other mods are the right version for the version of minecraft you are using.

posted a message on Help with installation please?!?!?!
On Mountain Lion if you see a "Minecraft" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the trash. warning, you have to set Gatekeeper to allow Minecraft as it is not yet certified as coming from a known developer. There are two ways:
    • in System Preferences > Security & Privacy set 'Allow applications downloaded from:' to 'Anywhere'. You have to click the lock in the bottom left corner, the one that reads 'Click the lock to make changes.' Start Minecraft.app. Once running, you may re-set Gatekeeper to 'Mac App Store and identified developers'.
    • right-click Minecraft.app and choose 'Open'. You'll be presented with a confirmation dialog.
You only have to do this once, you'll be able to double-click Minecraft.app on subsequent starts.

posted a message on [Shaders] HELP!
It looks to me like you haven't installed a portion.
If you are using this: http://www.minecraft...lsl-shaders-of/
There are 3 pieces that need to be installed.
    Optifine
GLSL Shaders (This is more just an addon to load the actual shaders)
And then the actual shaders. There are a few different choices for the shaders

posted a message on Moving Vanilla World to become FTB World.
Unfortunately, you've ruled out your options.

You could keep the vanilla main world, but use a mystcraft (part of FTB) age to get the new ores.
You could start over fresh, new world.
You could explore new chunks to get new ore.
You can use MCedit to copy existing buildings into a new world.

posted a message on Help! My HP Mini 210-1010NR (Piece of ...) Can't run minecraft!
    Quote from Captin Picard

Nope didn't work, I have an upgraded driver higher than the one you gave me XD

That 'upgraded' driver is the problem however. There are no windows 8 drivers for your card from intel. The ones you are using, come from microsoft, microsoft doesn't include openGL support in the drivers they install using windows update or from disk. They want to railroad everyone into writing/using directX applications. Minecraft needs OpenGL. So you have a few options: You can roll back to windows 7 and use the drivers from the intel site. You can buy a graphics card that has windows 8 drivers, provided by the card manufacturer (amd, nvidia, or intel). Or, Finally you can try to force windows 8 into using the windows 7 drivers.

Basically you need to remove the current drivers, then install the ones provided to you in the link.
The following has worked for some people, but not for all. If they don't work for you, you are better off with the first 2 options I gave above. (win 7 or new graphics card)

If you have installed windows 8 drivers for your graphics card from the manufacturers site. (www.amd.com or www.intel.com or www.nvidia.com), but the game still doesn't work, Windows is overriding the drivers. You need to manually override them.
    1. Go to Control Panel
    2. Go to Device Manager (You may have to change the view of control panel to see this)
    3. Expand Display Adapters by clicking on the arrow
    4. Right click your graphics card and select Properties, for example, mine was named AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200
    5. Go to the Driver tab
    6. Click Update Driver
    7. Select "Browse my computer for driver software"
    8. Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
    9. Select the driver that is NOT from Microsoft Corporation
    10. Click Next
    11. It should now install the driver software, this may take a few minutes. During the proccess your screen will go black, but it should come back shortly after, this is because in order for your computer to change your driver, it must uninstall the old driver which displays graphics on your screen
    12. You have successfully changed the driver of your computer, you should not need to restart, however, if you are still failing to play, do so now
