Mine is an interesting story, but only for those actually interested in learning the reason why the white-haired sovereign is named as he is. If you asked me, my short answer would be "Because the character I created myself is named Heric." But his name origin is tied to my own.
It started a long time ago. Maybe when I was 8. Not sure. I joined my first ever online community. Neopets. As I had to think up a good username to join, I jumped to the first thing that popped into my head.
Supercute.
Of course, my brother was aiding me in creating my account, and I understood the wisdom when he said I might be mistaken for a girl with that username. So I chose instead something long enough to remember, but easy enough to say. Thus, on neopets, I am now Hereicomenow.
A few years later, we discovered a fan site with a great community on it's forums. As I know some forums are rather touchy about mentioning other forums, I shall not name the site. Regardless, the community was great, and it was my first taste of roleplaying. Naturally, my name, still being hereicomenow, was rather long, so it got abbreviated time and time again. Comenow was the most common one. I believe sometimes it got abbreviated as Here, HICN, and some others. But then, one member abbreviated it in a way no one had before.
Heric.
This name had a nice ring to it. Short, yet cool. Thus, after promptly thanking them for the new name, I switched mine to...Dark Heric. While everyone still called me Heric, I use Dark Heric, or Lord Heric, as an alternate name when my five-letter persona is already taken. Which I'm pretty sure it hadn't been taken, but still...(The Dark/Lord prefix was more a representation of preferring the dark side when it came to fantasy)
I don't remember who called me it first. It may very well have been my best friend on that forum, who addressed herself as 'Moogi'. Might have been Raven/Valka. Maybe even _johnpaul, an old RPing buddy.
If anyone recognized me anywhere else, feel free to give me a holler here or there. Also, if the place has a searchbar, just type in 'Heric'. Heck, I bet you could google my name, and find my material(Albeit mostly here.)

This is kind of interesting to me. My online gaming began in the mid 90's with mudding, and there is certainly a tendency to go through the three classic three stages of apprentice, journeyman, and master levels of play. In the game Ancient Anguish where I cut my mudding teeth, getting to level 20 quickly and efficiently sort of marked your arrival at the journeyman level, and then if you ever got to the point where you were counting how much experience an hour you were making and were measuring up to the top level players, that was basically Master level.
No one used these terms. I'm just sort of borrowing a traditional terminology because I'm all Medieval like that.
Anyhow, long story short, I do not think it is psychologically possible for the human being to operate without measuring and labeling people as to their relative abilities. Therefore, I disagree that mods that tweek functionality encourage this behavior. They just shift it to emphasize a different aspect of the game.
In the end, xp farming is going to be the inescapable measure so long as xp has anything at all to do with improving either the character or its equipment. So welcome back to xp/hour measures. Minecraft will quite possibly get to the point where you farm xp and resources to make equipment to kill bigger monsters that give more xp to make better equipment, etc etc etc.
In fact, putting together a mob engine that has the capacity to just create bigger, badder, and meaner mobs in an automatic arms race sort of cycle and that are worth more xp when you kill them would put the capstone on that particular aspect of the game.
I get what you are saying. However, my stance stays the same. I have no personal hatred of this mod, nor do I look down on anyone using it, but I do not like this mod, and could not see myself using it, single or multiplayer.
As long as it stays off of the good servers of mine, I still have no problem with it. -

This mod just encourages that. Now, it's no longer finding someone who has one, or extreme luck. Now, it's create it yourself, because it's that simple. And anyone who can't is now a n00b.Posted in: News
Probably making it sound worse than it is, but this just encourages "God kit or n00b" environments, in my opinion.
Still, a new mod for the people who want it is always welcome. I just hope it doesn't invade my servers. - To post a comment, please login.

On the other hand, and I've discussed this quite a lot, The fanbase is almost universally agreed to be horrid at best. I am a Skydoesminecraft fan, but I do not consider myself part of his fanbase for that very reason. It'd reflect badly on me. I have actually asked quite a few people about it, and many people who claim to hate Skydoesminecraft, if you ask them, I've seen many who will say that "The worst problem is the fanbase". In my opinion, one shouldn't hate good men and good productions for their bad fanbase.
Although, I do recognize that not everyone would enjoy the randomness, chaos, and anything else one might enjoy about Skydoesminecraft's videos. That was just my opinion.

"You have a point, Kayne." Panserg said, surprisingly calm for his personality. He then turned as Amber had joined the group. "Ah! Amber's here!" Panserg sounded excited for little reason other than to be excited.

Heric advanced, with or without his team members, up to the seating to watch the upcoming match. On the way up, he could've sworn he saw Zoey, but he mentally chastised himself when he turned and saw no one but the random crowd of people. So he continued up to the seating and picked seating nearest to the front as he could...which was about three seats behind the front.

Juliet, since when were Zoey and Heric on the same team? Did something happen behind my back? According to the tournament roster, She's part of Team BananaForeverAlonePhones. Heck, Heric probably doesn't even know she's there. Or alive.

Heric/Team DinoLampPost/Nothing, save a canteen/Elemental
Panserg/Team PotatoPower/A greatsword and a revolver/Physical
[Heric]
"There's no point in just sitting around while others sharpen up." Heric stated. "With knowledge being half the battle, I suggest we watch the match to pick up on the strategy other teams will be using. Besides, should be interesting."
[Panserg]
"It surprised Panserg greatly how easy it is to find weapons in this city." He stated, possibly to himself. He checked the team roster for Team PotatoPower, and noticed that aside from Kayne and Panserg, the team wasn't here, or at least, all together. He got up to search for the rest of his team, though he himself had little idea what Yuugan or Nagi looked like.

Perhaps your search was too narrow. Regardless, there is already a topic just like this, which can be found here. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1727475-what-pokemon-type-is-the-avatar-above-you/

"Relax, Sky." Heric said, as if the idea that he was looking forward to killing people wasn't at all disturbing. "Even if it's not necessarily a deathmatch, everyone's healed at the end, anyways. I heard some of the healers on staff can even revive dead competitors. That may be just rumors, though."
[Panserg]
"No, Panserg has not seen anyone else on Team PotatoPower." He said. "But they'll be here, Kayne. Who'd want to miss such a great event?!"
0
"No. No new messages." Heric said, checking his own watch, just to be sure. "But Vilks appears to be over there." He signaled towards where Vilks had
randomly teleportedwalked in. "There are some people I seriously hope are here. It'll be entertaining to kill them."[Panserg]
"Hello, Kayne!" Panserg burst out. "How's your day been?"

Heric had been inside his humble little home. It was slightly cramped, which is why he rarely found himself inside it. Either way, at the moment, he was doing a bit more of his thinking. He found it was good for keeping calm, or at least appearing to be keeping calm. The gentle music of the radio cut out suddenly to the news about the tournament that had been cutting out every radio channel, every tv station, everything at the moment.
"Ah, yes. The tournament." Heric said. He was very much looking forward to this tournament. That day where he gets to do what he does best, and both legally, and for rewards. He had himself out the door rather quickly, headed straight for the tournament location.
When he arrived at the tournament location, there was a long line to the registration, or at least, that's what it appeared to be. He noticed at least two of his teammates, one of which being Sky the Swordswoman, and the other being that strange Revi. He couldn't see either of the other two teammates, if they were even here. He took his spot in line, which was directly behind Revi.

[Panserg]
Panserg was already at the tournament building. Been there for the past hour. He couldn't see anyone from Team PotatoPower yet, but that didn't matter. He was ready whenever, and he just sat, ready.

To be honest, neither do I. Let's see how I translate myself...
The way I see it, with all the homestuck that's been put into the roleplay, my acceptance for the weird and powerful in terms of characters has stretched significantly farther than when I was accepting forms here. Things that I shouldn't accept, I have no issue with, because "Well, at least it wasn't the SO HAPPY!!!!! apocalypse." There's been more, but...
Frankly, I may have been tired that day. And insomnia does weird things to your head. Put shortly, your Homestuck makes everything look like "Not the worst thing that's happened".

Fair enough.
I'll be honest, you've got me. I've got nothing to say against that. Guess the sheer amount of Homestuck you've crammed into the roleplay has made judging just a tad difficult.

Heric finally finished feasting on his admittedly simple meal. The restaurant was surprisingly empty at this point. One person was lying on the floor of the restaurant, bloody and unconscious. Apart from the cashier and other staff in the back of the building, nobody else was in the restaurant. "Is it really so wrong to want to eat in peace" Heric thought. "But instead that little hero goes marching around like it's his job or something, and now everyone thinks I'm just some coward with magic...Next time I see that little idiot hero, he's going to regret ever messing with me." While composed on the outside, Heric was ever fuming on the inside. He walked out the store and entered his old relic of a car. The thing must've dated back 50, maybe 60 years, and looked like it was barely holding together. Which it was. Attempting to start the car just had it making a bunch of sputtering noises before dying down...several times. It finally started after a couple dozen attempts to get the car working. "Ugh...The starter is dying again? I need a new car...this thing is expensive to maintain." He drove off in roughly the same direction as everyone else had, considering the other direction was a death zone.

There have been more blatent excuses for much weirder things, and you have a problem with this? There are at least two robots to my knowledge, and this wouldn't be the first character-turned-cyborg. It's really no different than having made Deemas in the first place, plus the fact that this might actually nerf the overpowered Deemas.

Sorry, Draconic, But I've proven you wrong...I think.
Oy, I've run out of things to do in the roleplay...Perhaps a new character later...
