Mine is an interesting story, but only for those actually interested in learning the reason why the white-haired sovereign is named as he is. If you asked me, my short answer would be "Because the character I created myself is named Heric." But his name origin is tied to my own.
It started a long time ago. Maybe when I was 8. Not sure. I joined my first ever online community. Neopets. As I had to think up a good username to join, I jumped to the first thing that popped into my head.
Supercute.
Of course, my brother was aiding me in creating my account, and I understood the wisdom when he said I might be mistaken for a girl with that username. So I chose instead something long enough to remember, but easy enough to say. Thus, on neopets, I am now Hereicomenow.
A few years later, we discovered a fan site with a great community on it's forums. As I know some forums are rather touchy about mentioning other forums, I shall not name the site. Regardless, the community was great, and it was my first taste of roleplaying. Naturally, my name, still being hereicomenow, was rather long, so it got abbreviated time and time again. Comenow was the most common one. I believe sometimes it got abbreviated as Here, HICN, and some others. But then, one member abbreviated it in a way no one had before.
Heric.
This name had a nice ring to it. Short, yet cool. Thus, after promptly thanking them for the new name, I switched mine to...Dark Heric. While everyone still called me Heric, I use Dark Heric, or Lord Heric, as an alternate name when my five-letter persona is already taken. Which I'm pretty sure it hadn't been taken, but still...(The Dark/Lord prefix was more a representation of preferring the dark side when it came to fantasy)
I don't remember who called me it first. It may very well have been my best friend on that forum, who addressed herself as 'Moogi'. Might have been Raven/Valka. Maybe even _johnpaul, an old RPing buddy.
If anyone recognized me anywhere else, feel free to give me a holler here or there. Also, if the place has a searchbar, just type in 'Heric'. Heck, I bet you could google my name, and find my material(Albeit mostly here.)

This is kind of interesting to me. My online gaming began in the mid 90's with mudding, and there is certainly a tendency to go through the three classic three stages of apprentice, journeyman, and master levels of play. In the game Ancient Anguish where I cut my mudding teeth, getting to level 20 quickly and efficiently sort of marked your arrival at the journeyman level, and then if you ever got to the point where you were counting how much experience an hour you were making and were measuring up to the top level players, that was basically Master level.
No one used these terms. I'm just sort of borrowing a traditional terminology because I'm all Medieval like that.
Anyhow, long story short, I do not think it is psychologically possible for the human being to operate without measuring and labeling people as to their relative abilities. Therefore, I disagree that mods that tweek functionality encourage this behavior. They just shift it to emphasize a different aspect of the game.
In the end, xp farming is going to be the inescapable measure so long as xp has anything at all to do with improving either the character or its equipment. So welcome back to xp/hour measures. Minecraft will quite possibly get to the point where you farm xp and resources to make equipment to kill bigger monsters that give more xp to make better equipment, etc etc etc.
In fact, putting together a mob engine that has the capacity to just create bigger, badder, and meaner mobs in an automatic arms race sort of cycle and that are worth more xp when you kill them would put the capstone on that particular aspect of the game.
I get what you are saying. However, my stance stays the same. I have no personal hatred of this mod, nor do I look down on anyone using it, but I do not like this mod, and could not see myself using it, single or multiplayer.
As long as it stays off of the good servers of mine, I still have no problem with it. -

This mod just encourages that. Now, it's no longer finding someone who has one, or extreme luck. Now, it's create it yourself, because it's that simple. And anyone who can't is now a n00b.Posted in: News
Probably making it sound worse than it is, but this just encourages "God kit or n00b" environments, in my opinion.
Still, a new mod for the people who want it is always welcome. I just hope it doesn't invade my servers. - To post a comment, please login.

"Lightbot?" Blaze Woman was caught off guard by this, and was struck directly by the Tail wind, forcing her backwards into a wall of scrap pieces. "How dare you even think I'd betray Dr. Wily."

Ravenman, vigilant as he always is in monitering the city, noticed Blaze Woman and Tailsman battling each other. "What on earth are they doing?! Doctor Wily needs to hear about this." He headed to a hidden spot, and teleported to Wily's lab.
He arrived at Wily's lab, noticing Wily working on one of his new bots. Appeared to be the one he titled 'Vectorman'. The doctor than took noticed of Ravenman. "This better be important."
"I've come back with some news, doctor. Your most recently completed bot appears to be doing far better than expected. She defeated both Heatman and even Megaman."
"Than why hasn't she brought them back?!"
"That was an issue. Both captures were failures. Before she could bring back Heatman, she was interrupted by Megaman, and before she could capture Megaman, Turboman almost saw her. She ran, presumably due to damage from the previous two battles."
Wily grumbled. "I'm not liking this news, Ravenman. Anything else?"
"Yes. EWN 000 and 001 are...fighting each other."
"What?! Tell them to stop playing around and do their job!"
"...Yes, Doctor." Hesitantly, Ravenman teleported back to the city.

Turboman shrugged. "The only way to know is to take it on us to protect him until he's fixed."

((And Ryik...yeah, now I see what you mean. Nuclear fusion is still rather self-destructive, though, so let's just avoid him doing that...))

"I think a wilybot...beat him." Turboman immediately added. I just found him deactivated like this, but I think I saw something running away. Looked like some robot, but Megaman's more important."

Blaze Woman passed by Scrap man, and immediately recognized him, turning around to speak to him. "I saw you fighting Megaman earlier. Your defeat was...spectacular."

Heric wandered through the city until he came upon his destination, a noticeably large building, with a large sign on it that read "ELEMENTAL FACTION HEADQUARTERS". He entered the building.
Upon entering, he was immediately noticed by just about everyone near the entrance. There were about ten different people, half of them male, half female. Almost everyone immediately shoved passed Heric, though, seemingly on their way to something else. Just one person remained in the building, who immediately caught Heric's attention. She looked oddly like Zoey, whom Heric had not seen since the evacuation of the city quite a while ago. She did stand a couple inches shorter, though, and her hair was brown.
"Hello!" She greeted enthusiastically. "Are you here to see the leader?"
"Yes. I wish to join the faction."
Almost on cue, an elevator opened, revealing a man, who stepped out into the lobby. He appeared to be the leader, though this was mostly because of the girl pointing out not-so-silently that he was the leader.
"Ah, I see we have a visitor." The man said, looking over at Heric. "You wish to join us, correct?"
"That would be correct."
"Than come this way, please." He directed Heric outside.
They stopped at a clearing behind the building.
"Now, let's see what you've got."
Heric took his water, sweeping it around himself a few times. He essentially enveloped himself in water, and then froze it, leaving a shield of ice. The leased was unimpressed, however.
"I hope you can do more than just protect yourself like that."
Heric than melted down, and than melted the ice, sweeping it, and him, away.
"You are still failing to impress-" The leader felt a chilling touch on his shoulder, flinching as he saw Heric. Didn't help, of course, that Heric was currently a frozen dog.
"You were saying?" Heric asked, morphing back into himself.
"...Not bad. I see potential. But how do you handle yourself in combat?" A target rose from the ground, like one of the human-shape paper targets used for shooting practice. "Go."
Heric took his water, and set it beside him. He than shot a bullet of ice from the orb at the target, which pierced it's "Head". He continued firing more, and it got faster as he fired. The target was hit many times in the head and heart area, until the backing of the target, a rather solid substance, started cracking. The target pulled back into the ground, and Heric recycled his ice bullets.
"Impressive. But there's someone behind you."
Heric turned around, and about five targets, all the same humanoid shooting targets, were standing behind him. Each one had been rigged to fire tennis balls from a cannon attached to them. Heric blocked one tennis ball aimed straight for him with his water, frozen into a frost shield. He then shot forth a tendril of water. *Crack!* The target in the middle had been completely ripped through, which retracted it into the ground. Heric deflected two more tennis balls, than formed the water into a bat, and hit a third tennis ball straight back at the targets. *Crack!* Second one down. He stuck out the bat, and the front flew forward as a fluid tendril. *Crack!* That's three. The three broken targets retracted into the ground. He deflected the other tennis ball aimed at him, and shot a tendril over one of the targets, to one behind it. *Crack!* That one broke too. It started to retract, when Heric gave it a fierce tug with the tendril hooked into it. *Crack! Crack!* The target was ripped out from the ground, and flew straight through the last target.
"Very impressive. Be ready at 9:00. We'll be setting out on a mission, and you will prove yourself one last time."

The lady at the desk simply pointed over to the right, where a large board sat on the wall, with many papers and other notices sat. Heric looked over at the board, and noticed, among others, a paper describing monsters, and the money they're worth, wanted posters, and one worn poster, which seemed to belong with the rest of the monsters. It showed a golden pig, and the bounty was enormous.
Heric also noticed something about factions, including which ones there are, and where to go to join on. "Ah, it's based on your powers. Alright, let's give this elemental one a try." He walked out the building, to head towards this building.

Blaze woman walked over to the deactivated Megaman. "Shame. You didn't even offer up a fight." She reached to pick up Megaman, but stopped when she heard clunky footsteps. Knowing she couldn't fight while carrying him, and that she was already damaged, she ran to hide, escaping from the scene without Megaman.
Turboman walked out from behind a corner, holding what appeared to be some sort of makeshift trophy. He immediately dropped said makeshift trophy when he saw Megaman. "Megaman?!" He looked around the area, but all he saw was a vague purplish shade vanish behind a corner. He picked up the blue robot, and ran into the labs. "Where's Dr. Light?!"

Ignore that guy. Probably for the best he isn't.))
((The heck?!))
((But anyways, Ryik, the faction leader of mental, the picture you provided is not a him. But I get what it's supposed to mean.))
((And Ryik, that wasn't even what Heric was asking. He knew, to an extent, the housing situation. He's asking about the hunting.))

I remember, I had just made warrior when the server went bad. This is, by far, the best server I've ever been on, period, and I can't wait. Even if I have to start as slave again,(Heck, even if I were to start exiled), I would be extremely happy for this to come back.

((If I had to assume, though, it works something like how Chocolate cake's character Charlie just did it.))
