posted a message on WorldPainter - graphical & interactive map creator/generator
    Hello Painters!

Just thought I would ask this in the hope someone has a good solution for me. I've created a heightmap, and I've got everything looking decent enough inside WorldPainter. I lowered the Base and water level so that I can get slightly higher and more imposing mountains in the map. That however has caused another issue which I didn't think about during the creation.

Someone else wishes to add to the map adventure! Lots of dungeons underground and in mountains as it is based off a previous RPG game. The available underground space is limited as I've lowered it.

I've tried to create a new map by using the heightmap and change the levels, but either way you look at it it isn't helping. Is there any way to raise the entire map up and at the same time adjusting the height of the mountains down with WorldPainter?

ok i have but when i saved my scene and opened it it was really blurry :( any help?

Once you are looking at what you want to see a picture of, you'll need to start your render from the General Tab. Change your SPP Target to about 10000 at first and then click the green triangle on the Start button. It will begin to "focus" and render your image for you, it will also give you a countdown as to how long it will take.

    what is chunky render?

A 3rd party rendering program. Uses software rendering, so it takes ages to render a scene but it is quite nice. Check out the link:

posted a message on Ultima - Shroud of the Avatar - Underworld
Shroud of the Avatar is an upcoming game and the spiritual successor of the Ultima Series from Richard Garriott. Shroud of the Avatar was successfully crowd funded and is currently in development.

This is a scene depicting a small part of the Underworld, a vast expanse of underground tunnels and caverns which connect to the surface.

There are six entrance/exit points, can you find them all?

You can download and use this map from here: http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/minecraft-scene-jam---shroud-of-the-avatars-underworld/

How did you create the land?

I created the island with World Painter. I got the dune like effects from creating my own height map in PhotoShop and then importing it into World Painter.

Woah! Very good place! Makes me want to play that game :P

Thanks, yeah you should certainly check it out! Game is crowd source, and still in Dev, you can have your say about a number of things.

This is a 1024x1024 map which has been created in response to the Shroud of the Avatar Scene Jam. Check out Shroud of the Avatar at their website to learn more about this upcoming game: https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/

Basically the developers of the game have crowd sourced it via KickStarter, it was funded quite a while ago but now they are coming out with competitions and extra ways to earn / win in-game stuff. For the next four weeks they are having what they call 48hour "Unity Scene Jams," they'll give you a challenge and you use the Unity editor/engine to complete them.

Since I don't have enough time to learn Unity and the time isn't quite aligned being in Australia, I did this Scene Jam in MineCraft instead!

This is what I call the Skeleton Coast. An ancient but strong island, selected by the former inhabitants of the world for it's geological stability. There are six points of ingress and egress which will all hook up in one way or another. There is a frozen ice lake under the surface, which the previous inhabitants tapped for water, many caverns, one quite large "underworld" area, some things scattered across the surface, tombs, an underground aquaduct, a giant spiral staircase used to transport a huge number of people and many more things in here.

For the moment this is a creative save, I will work on it a bit further in the near future and turn it into a Survival map.

Feel free to have a look at all the images I have taken of the Lunar Rift Scene Jam on my imgur.

I loved Ultima 7 : Black Gate and Serpent Isle back in those days, and this post makes me want to play them again.

Love the attention to detail to reconstruct the shrine, and moongate, +1 from me good Sir Dupre.

Wow, I'd forgotten that I'd ever played Ultima.

    Lovely build.

I am glad there are some Ultima fans out there still :) By the way google Shroud of the Avatar, Richard Garriott is making another 5 games based around the Ultima series!

There are also more Ultima related stuff in my PMC profile you can get to on the link above if you wish to check it all out.

posted a message on Ultima VII - Shrine of Spirituality
Downloads are available also on my profile at Planet MineCraft.

The former Shrine of Spirituality was my first project upload of any kind, and was created back in v1.2.5 MC before the End even existed. It has now been totally re-designed.

MineCraft has come a long way since then as have I, the new Shrine of Spirituality features the actual Shrine in the End dimension, which you are teleported to via Command block tricks, where you can have a "conversation" with the Time Lord.

This is my representation of the Shrine of Spirituality from Ultima VII: The Black Gate - those Ultima fans out there will know what this is. If you've never heard of Ultima before, I urge you to google it and read up as if you are playing any RPG at all; You are actually playing Ultima!

It is much larger than the in-game U7 shrine. The Shrine in U7 exists in the Ethereal Void, a space like realm which binds everything in the Ultima universe together. Think The Force from Star Wars, only you can actually travel to it as well as interact with it.

You will spawn near a "Moongate," Simply walk up to the Moongate and stand near the middle in front of it, or jump up to the middle in it and you will be teleported to meet the Time Lord.
