Meh, I dislike this entire update, honestly, aside from bugfixes.
It's fine for people who want survival to be more difficult, but I hope a toggle option is added when creating a world, to disable this hunger system change.
Also, the healing and regen potion effects didn't need a nerf. Now they'll hardly do any good in combat, they're so slow and weak.
I might as well just dig a hole and box myself in while waiting for my health to regen when my HP gets low, instead of wasting resources on potions and apples that will take up inventory space without doing me any good, instead only saving me a few seconds of waiting.

Though generally I agree with the suggestions that gauntlets be a wand replacement, and that they be purely for the chanting of vis, with items such as vis stones being for long term storage, I wonder, is there any possibility of storage native to the player themselves? I think that an inherent vis battery equivalent to an iron capped wooden wand that could only be recharged via channeling devices such as gauntlets, and which was directly augmented in recharge speed and storage capacity by equipping certain wearables, would provide some flexibility for those stick in a vis-poor area.
It would also open up the possibility of carrying from health, should such a mechanic be doable.

I am attempting to manually add 5.1.11 to a heavily altered Direwolf20 FTB pack, but I am constantly presented with this error:
forge mod loader has found a problem with your minecraft installation. you have mod sources that are duplicate within your system. Mod Id: File name
This occurs when installing according to the instructions included in the Millenaire download. I have searched online, and, though many others have experienced this issue, I cannot seem to find anyone who has managed to solve it.
If anyone has come across and fixed this issue, I would be delighted to hear about it.

Interesting.
And I found the mod. Pity I can't delete this.

Yes, I do this quite often, I'm afraid.
On my first go, I went researching, and it was fine. Then, I started using the cheat Thaumonomicon.
After a long break, I decided to do the research fairly, while using the FTB modpack, but now that this mod is updated to 1.5.2, I'm thinking I'll use the cheat Thaumonomicon again.

This map, did it require any gameplay-changing mods, such as Ars Magica?
If no, then the best way to play adventure maps is without mods of any kind, if you want it to be bug-free.

Judging by the constant questions about "Where is the 1.5.1 link" and "Can this be updated to 1.5.1" pre-3.0.4 update, I'd say this is a safe assumption.

Though TC3 has a marvelous research tree when it comes to useful and important things, I do miss the little things you could research from TC2, such as that one-use item made from Amber that turned it into daytime whose-name-escapes-me.
I'd love to see TC3 get more of these kinds of unnecessary but fun things, and I had a few suggestions myself.
1. Gold and Leather items can get a researchable Repair enchantment:
Advanced Repair Enchantments
Though you have easily been able to apply Repair enchantments to magical substances such as Thaumium and Enchanted Fabric, the art of giving more mundane substances the ability of self-repair has evaded you, until now.
After some research, you have discovered that items made from Leather and Gold can also be imbued with the Repair enchantment. Though perhaps not preferable to self-repairing Thaumium armors, it does give a fashion-conscious Thaumaturge more options when choosing what to wear.
2. An item that can give extra XP when breaking Mob Spawners, and that can be used as a weak melee:
Experience Scoop
When using this device to break Monster Spawners, you gain 4 times the normal amount of Experience, at the cost of creating a small amount of Flux in the local Aura. It can also be used to bludgeon Monsters to death, feeding off of their Experience to repair itself, though still leaving plenty for you.

My question is, what would happen if I published a LAN server, and then, using a laptop of mine, joined said LAN server with the same account that published it?
Would there be problems?
Also, if using mods that use player IDs to restrict/allow the use of items/inventories, such as personal-networked Ender Chests or Thaumcraft 3 Research, what problems could it cause?

Wait, did Azanor say he was planning on bringing back Void Armor, or is this just speculation?
I do miss my ebony suit of self-repairing terror from TC2, and it would be interesting to see it back again, along with a more "evil" set of buffs to go with it.
But really, even without Void Armor, TC3 Thaumium Armor + Boots of the Traveler is better than the Modular Power Suit any day, if you get Repair on each piece of armor alongside some other God-tier enchants. You'll need gobs of Exp, though, and an Anvil. But with Thorns, 3 specific damage resists and one all-around damage resist enchantment for all 4 pieces of Armor, then you're nearly indestructible.

Did anyone on the list do anything on the level of curing cancer?
The only people I saw in the first ~20 or so results were other software/hardware developers and celebrities.
I'd say Notch deserves this just as much, or more so, than anyone else that I saw on the list of candidates.

This is such good advice.
While waiting for my favorite mods get updated, I've been playing around with the FTB modpacks.
It's fun stuff, I'd recommend it.

After looking through some of the first suggestions on the list, I quickly became convinced that Notch definitely deserves this honor, more than many others.

Though I do not mind modders getting some money out of their hard work, I cannot stand Adf.ly and am happy whenever I see someone who does not use it, though I don't hold any great animosity to those who do.
