Where is this server being hosted? I am currently playing on a server that is hosted in London, and I live in the US, so my connection to the server is very low and I lose connection every hour or so; I am trying to find a server hosted in the US so that I can play without lag and DCs.
I do have 1 world that I play very rarely, it is a hardmode hardcore I made years ago, and it has well over 1000 hours of gameplay; I am so scared I am gonna lose the world every time I play it, but I make myself play it at least 4 hours a month.
There are so few mods which add steampunk-esk blocks, least of all smokestacks or large round pipes; so I am curious to see if anyone would be willing to make steampunk blocks. With the uses of brass, this should probably be a Redpower 2 addon. I can possibly provide pictures to represent each idea. Perhaps anyone who likes this idea can comment with more ideas, and if I like their idea I will make note of it with credit.

Multiblock smoke stack (iron and stone variants)
Large pipes (flanged ends with rivets, both iron and glass variants)
Brass bound wood planks (brass trim edges with iron rivets)
Angled supports beams (both iron i-beams and wood)
Water wheel (similar to the RP2 windmill, but purely decorative)
Detailed descriptions Multiblock smokestacks: Place 2 or more vertically creates the multiblock structure, and it emits smoke or steam from the top.
Large pipes: One of them straight and the other a quarter circle.
Brass bound wood planks: Any wood plank, plus brass trim, plus iron rivet.
Angled support beams: Single block; the wood variant has brass trim and rivets on each end, and the iron i-beam has rivets on each end.
Water wheel: I would like to have this move akin to the RP2 windmill; block that when placed spawns the water wheel entity if there is open space.
Is there any way to pull all items except a specific from a container? Ex: A quarry deposits items into a chest, I want to pull out everything but the coal. (not the situation I have, what I'm doing is a bit complicated)
I don't think rail craft tanks support this, I think thats a manual gui only type setup, a TE Liquid transposer can accomplish this however by extracting from the tank.
I feel dumb now, I forgot about the transposer. Thank you, I was stuck, I have a big project that revolves around being able to request Creosote.
I am not sure if its a Railcraft issue or Applied Energistics; I am automating my coke ovens and blast furnaces with AE, but for someone reason I cannot use AE to put containers into the iron tank and pull out the filled containers. I have tried placing the buses on the valves, when that didn't work I tried placing the import on the bottom and export on the top, that didn't work either.
I must admit, I am tempted to apply for this; but as I have never done such a thing as this, I am wary of giving it a try. And before I would consider this, I am curious to know the genre of the adventure and approximate size; as I would be more enthusiastic of certain genres versus others, and I am developing a mod concept so I could not have this be taking too much of my time.
I scoured google search for an hour; is there a way to change the color of warded stone? I made too much blue, and don't want the 3 stacks of it to waste space in a chest; I need white warded stone, so it would be awesome if I could change the blue to white.
I've had him try hosting, IP is fine, had 4 other people try, always the done button. As for when it happens; I open to lan, he clicks join my lan, he gets a done button at the bottom of the screen. By config do you mean his mods? If so, we get the same error with vanilla.
My brother and I were playing on Lan yesterday, everything worked fine. I added IC2 and RP2 to both our .minecraft, now when ever he tries to connect he just gets a "done" button at the bottom of the screen, and in the world I host I see it say he joins and then leaves twice. Our .minecraft are identical except for world saves, and I have an IP so I am not having that issue. IC2 and RP2 are the only 2 mods I have added since the last time we played on Lan, and I know that both of them are universal files. And I know how to properly add mods, they work fine in SSP for both of us.
My concept for a mod seems very simple, but unfortunately the few people I have shared it with have looked stumped and clueless, so I am hoping you won't have that issue (after speaking with you, I doubt this will be hard for you to grasp). This involves teleportation, but different from almost every other idea involving such. Screenshots of the recipes will be at the bottom.
Portal block: Just 1 block, although expensive to make. They can be set to channels, sneak (not specifically shift) right-click to change the channel, up to 10 channels. Block has a face and direction is chosen based on what adjacent block is used to place and character facing. Portal area is 1 block in front of the face. Only teleports player if there is more than 1 Portal block on the same channel (Obviously). When arriving at a portal block, player is placed 2 blocks in front of the Portal block.
Portal ring: Expensive. Interactable item. Sneak (not specifically shift) right-click when holding to change channel. Right click when holding to teleport to Portal block of the chosen channel.
Limit to 2 blocks or 1 block and 1 ring per channel.
Edit: I am thinking of adding in a cost for using the ring, but am unsure of whether that would be overkill considering the prices of the ring and block being so expensive.
So, I go to open MC after re-downloading TC3, I get black screen. So I update forge to .425, still black screen, so I roll back to what .411 and take TC3 out of mods folder, black screen again. Then I update java, still getting BS, took out all my mods, BS again. I am so confused, I even got a fresh MC jar. Any advice?
Edit: Fresh MC jar, with newest java, no mods, and any Forge I get black screen

Don't you mean IC2 rubber trees?

The portal seals were/are the best system of teleportation that I have seen, none of the teleport mods or mods that add teleporters have come close.
