not really, we've got a steam group set up, and some space on a different forum, but our community's been small enough that we've never really had a use for it.
So most of the coordination is done over steam?
Also, do you guys PVP at all? I'm kind of looking for a pvp clan.

posted a message on A civil discussion about the point of beta testing.
    Quote from spacestation

I've seen a lot of people on the forums here unhappy about a number of features in the 1.9 pre-release. From the dripping animations, to new Nether content, to NPC Villages and Villagers and more. But one thing that it seems a lot of these are lacking are common sense, or any acknowledgement as to why we're still all playing Minecraft BETA.

    We're beta testers.

Sure, there's way more to it than just that. We're a vibrant community full of exceptional modders, talented artists, accomplished builders, and devoted fans. We all play this game because we see the potential it has to be something amazing and creative. And with the amount and level of developer feedback from Mojang itself, we all have the chance to do our parts to make the game the best it can be. Look at how many features have been added because of player contribution with Notch and Mojang (ladders, cake, ect.).

But at the end of the day, the game itself is still in beta. It's our job to search for bugs and flaws in the game, so that when it goes retail we'll all have had a hand in making sure that we helped make the best experience for everyone. But in order to do that, we need to help put in the work. When 1.8 pre-released, the community seemed to really take an active role in making sure that all bugs were found, and glitches were reported. Not only that, but it seemed that everyone was generally pretty excited about the task. We hadn't ever had the option to get our hands on an advanced copy before, and I for one loved it. And as a result, when 1.8 dropped, it was a pretty stable release. Now, while the 1.8 pre-release might have been because someone leaked it early, and Mojang decided to officially do a pre-release to combat pirating, I'm not sure why 1.9 was pre-released. Maybe Mojang saw the positive community feedback from 1.8 and decided to give it another shot.

But this time around, it seems that people are getting the wrong idea. This is still a pre-release of an early beta build of the patch. So yes, there will be TONS of bugs. There will be strange glitches, and awkward textures. Just because it is in the pre-release now doesn't mean that it's a finalized version. And I think that people are forgetting that. A lot of the "Patch 1.9 is horrible" threads I'm seeing are treating it as if the game has been put to retail as is, and that nothing else will ever change. And that's simply not the case.

The point of being a part of beta is to help to make the game better. Disagreeing with changes made are fine, so long as people remember that the game still has a long way to go until it's officially launched, and that many, many things can and most surely will change from then until now. It's best to take it all in stride, and not get so worked up about small changes. By the time that 1.10 drops, you wont ever remember what made you mad about 1.9.

We're all beta testers. Let's be thankful that we're given the option to make the game better by helping to fix bugs and make changes to make this game even more awesome.

I've been saying this since... forever. The game is still in beta, for mojang to feel the need release a beta of a beta is stupid. Don't these kids understand? The whole pre release is just stupid, just release it and give people the option to not update, which there already is, so I don't understand the bitching.

posted a message on Torches Giving Off Light in your Hand
I've always had this idea, for survival and any game mode. The only reason I can think of why it isn't in the game is because there wouldn't be a HUGE need for so many torches when exploring, but then again that could be fixed to where a torch in hand gives off less light. I mean I would still use torches on walls,IMO they would still be as useful.
