Here's the gist. My Minecraft/Tekkit servers lag. They lag like crazy. I have ADSL-2 connection so this shouldn't be a problem. But my friend, who lives about a kilometre away, his server doesn't lag at all. We both use Hamachi. So everyone is playing on his server and not mine, which I find a little sad. Now here's the crazy part. One of my other friends pinged my connection and found that the server's connection goes to America and back but my friend's doesnt. Can someone please tell me how to fix this so my servers won't lag anymore?
I've seen another thread like this, but when looking through I found no answers. Basically, the deal is this. My 3 friends and I have been playing on my .exe server for about a month or so now. We use Hamachi to connect, since I don't know how to port forward and I hear you could end up getting viruses from it. Anyway, Hamachi has been working fine in dealing with connecting to the .exe server, but one day I decided I wanted mods for the server. So I downloaded the .jar server, and did the batching thing, and then I started it up. I could get into the server, however, my friends couldn't.
Looking on the other thread, someone suggested getting Bukkit. After hearing so much about Bukkit, I decided to give it a try. Surprising, the installation for Bukkit was quite simple and I already have two plugins (I've given up on mods for the moment). Both these plugins work fine as I've tested them, except still my friends can't get in.
Can someone please tell me what is wrong and what I have to do? I'll give many thanks.
Hi, I'm preparing some mods for a new single-player adventure of mine, and I've gotten all of them to work...except one. I've been trying to install Pam's Harvestcraft, and downloaded everything needed for it, but it didn't work. When I started the game up, it quickly updated, but the loading bar stopped just before the end. So I tried some more food mods (all requiring MinecraftForge and using multiple backups), and I found that the problem was MinecraftForge. When I installed MinecraftForge by itself, the loading bar thing happened. When I tried the mod WITHOUT MinecraftForge, my Minecraft crashed. I have tried all sorts of things, using a clean jar, using a modded jar, downloading different versions of it, but I still either got a stuck loading bar or my minecraft crashed.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong and is there a way to fix this?
Hi, I have a problem with my Minecraft server. Basically, me and my friends have been playing on my Minecraft server (a .exe file) for about a month. We've had our share of problems, but we've got through them fairly quickly. Recently, I decided I wanted to install some mods onto the server, so I download a .jar for the server and copied the map over, essentially making it the same server.
So I downloaded the ModLoaderMP, Player API and Smart Moving mods and installed them to the server. I could tell I had done it correctly because it worked for me when I went onto the server. However, with this modded .jar file, neither of my two friends could get on. As soon as they connected they disconnected.
None of them had installed the Smart Moving mod onto their singleplayer, but neither had I when I put it on the server, but I was able to get in. Of course I installed it onto my singleplayer afterwards. One of my friends is trying to get it installed as I'm typing this, but I'm not sure if this will work.
Can anyone give some advice as to why my friends can't connect but I can? Do they need any of those mods as well? I'd like to find out the cause of this problem, because I want to put some more mods onto the server.
I'm having a problem with my textures on any Minecraft map I create. The sides of dirt covered in grass look like cobblestone! This happened after I tried installing the Timber mod, and is affecting ALL of my texture packs. It seemed to have happened after I downloaded the ModLoader, and it seems it won't go away after I delete all traces of it. I was wondering if there is a way to fix this, or if I could backup my maps and texture packs before rebooting the application all together.
I do need help, and I'm not sure if I should post this in here, so please do!
