Don't tell about launcher or Windows 8 incompatibility. Just look at that damn report:
"org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Pixel format not accelerated"
Upgrading your OS to Windows 8 didn't moved your drivers. Get video drivers and install them, that will fix this problem.
Cheers.
Windows 8 user.
Hello. I have recently upgraded to windows 8. Minecraft now crashes when I try to start it. Could someone help me? Thanks.

Yo man, a lot of other mods such as industrialcraft, buildcraft, and redpower already have ores like ruby and apatite... Maybe you could rename them to other gems. Also, those gems are pretty useless unless your trying to get to the promised land. Maybe you could add some more uses for them.
PS
When did TDWP_FTW come back to work on the mod??
I haz converted sum animated Sphax 128x SimpleOres mythril & onyx furnace textures for 1.5+ (for personal use only, of course). I also converted all the SimpleOres items & blocks to individual files, though the stone texture is a slightly different hue in the latest Sphax, so the SimpleOres ore blocks appear a bit off for now.
Oh how I wonder if AleXndrTheGr8st has an inner battle with the title of his mod focusing on the word "simple" and his desire to add things like furnaces and bows...LOL! Thanks for the mod!
Hey can you send me those sphax textures for simple ores? I have been looking for an updated version of that.
Thanks I'll look into this and if I can see how it's done. The challenge is doing it without modifying any base classes but it might be possible!
Currently all normal stone is replaced however I have been considering adding normal stone biomes for those that want them. Recipes that use normal stone should also accept the new stone types including recipes from other mods (provided those recipes are recipes that are crafted on the crafting bench / inventory)
Thanks
Could you possibly somehow make normal stone spawn around ores?
