I believe that guns are bad, but when use safely can be alright.
The problem with American gun laws is that anyone can buy a gun, and then go killing someone (Though fortunately most people don't, but some do, for example the Columbine Massacre had School Students killing a lot of people, then killing themselves).

Simple way to (hopefully) minimise the amount of shootings:
    1) Make people take a gun safety course and test.
    2) Give people who pass the safety test a licence.
    3) Make the licences have expiry dates so people will have to retake the tests every few years. (10 years maybe?)
    4) Make some guns illegal.
    5) Make it necessary for people selling guns to only sell to people with a licence.
    6) Anyone found with a gun without a valid licence will have the gun removed and a fine.

This still has a few problems though, such as if people steal guns. It also cannot be implemented in the USA due to the Second Amendment.
No matter what the gun laws are there will always be people arguing that they are to strict or not strict enough.

Not anyone can buy a gun. If they are convicted felons, or convicted of a domestic assault, they cannot buy a gun. Most of the weapons used in Columbine were pistol type, and could not have been purchased legally by the shooters. Also, things like licenses for firearms is in effect for the state of Illinois, as far as I could tell it wasn't very effective.

posted a message on How many guns does your family have?
Soon to be seven, my wife will be picking it up soon.

I would appreciate it if people who don't like guns would refrain from making baseless comments that are more ignorant than the "redneck American gunaholics who want to shoot people" I own guns, and so many of them, because they are fun to shoot at the range. I hope with all my being that all I ever shoot is paper, cardboard, and dirt. But if someone enters my home with the intent to do me or my wife harm, I will do everything in my power to defuse the situation.

I laugh at the people that are selling bunker space for 2012. Hey the irrational theory is that everyone dies, there was no exceptions for some schmucks in a bunker.

Really, I think that someone was bored and made on tiny post on the right forum board and people freaked. It really wouldn't surprise me, that's how most regular rumors start.

posted a message on How Critical Hits Affect the Number of Hits
    Quote from Ichimoto

I personally think that critical hits would be okay with combat if it's 100% chanced and triggered, though it would probably look ridiculously silly with people jumping at each other like that. :tongue.gif:

If it's chanced in any way, though, that would **** people off.

I agree, chanced critical hits for things turn-based come with the territory. Chanced on real time, not so much. If you were landing more hits because you're better, and the other guy beats you with a chanced critical hit, not very fun.

Forget the wooden ones, I had the original die-cast ones that fit perfectly on an upside-down hot wheels track.

It's almost to the point of depressing how many remakes have come out recently. Thankfully the push for remade anime is going away, the Speed Racer movie kinda nuked the market.

posted a message on How were you introduced into the music you like?
Most of the music I got from before middle and high school came from my folks. Dave Matthews Band, The Beatles, Dar Williams, a good range of styles. After I discovered anime music videos, I found a lot of the other groups I listen to, like The Aquabats, Blue Oyster Cult, again, a lot of styles. I tend to pick out individual songs rather than full albums. Albino Black Sheep introduced me to Dr. Steel

posted a message on Powered Rail issue
I have a minecart track about 800 meters, powered rails every 38 meters, individual redstone torches for the powered rails. I have a minecart to ride in, and a storage minecart on each side. Somewhere between 500 and 600 meters in both directions, the front cart "bumps" causing the carts to bump into each other, and making the train fall apart.

It doesn't happen when in single mine cart, or when I have one storage cart in front.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I came dangerously close to failing high several times. the hardest thing is figuring out how to study. Everyone is different, and schools are only really designed for a couple of those types. If you can take yourself away from games/movies/whatever, then more power to you you can probably do homework and things like that later, if not, then you should as soon as you get home. If you need someone to kick your butt into gear, get your siblings, or your parents involved, and don't cheat yourself by saying you have no homework.
