    posted a message on The Horse Update: 1.6 Is Now Live!
    So, it's finally out! My thoughts about it is a mixed bag. It has a few really cool features, but in my opinion, this is the most underwhelming update since the micro updates between 2.0 and 3.0. 1.6 didn't destroy Minecraft, but it could have been much better. 1.7 is going to be focused on biomes, so I predict that it will be much better than 1.7.

    What I liked:

    -Hardened clay! Finally, a multi-color block similar to stone! And itself looks really nice, even without a dye. The only downfall is that the colors are a little off. (Bone meal dying it tan, cyan dye dying it gray, ect.)
    -Leads! FINALLY! It's a really cool concept, and it's really useful. It makes it easier to transport animals to a breeding area. I haven't tried this yet, but my farm could consist of only wooden poles with animals attached via leads.
    -Nametags! Now I can have a pet Creeper, and he won't despawn!
    -Resource Packs! I have a feeling that the transition from Texture Packs to Resource Packs will be a tedious one, but hey, you can change sound effects and add music. That's cool.
    -Coal blocks! I never really liked the way obsidian look, so coal blocks will make a good (yet expensive) replacement.
    What I didn't like:

    -Horses. They simply don't belong in Minecraft. They're simply too detailed. Also, they're only useful for travelling on roads and such, and that's what Minecarts are for. Pig riding is better for exploration than horses, because pigs aren't as bulky and they aren't too fast. So what purpose do horses serve? Decorating empty stables.
    -Downgraded sprinting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is just a bug, but if it isn't...
    -The new Hunger system. I haven't noticed anything yet, but I won't rest until I know the hunger system isn't anything unbearable.
    -Region difficulty and duplicating zombies. Don't get me wrong; I really like a good challenge. That's what hardcore mode is for. And that's where this feature belongs. I really like these ideas, but I have a feeling it will screw over build servers. When this is addressed, I will gladly put this feature under "What I like".

    If there's incorrect facts, forgive me, I haven't done that much research, and I just now tested 1.6.

    Sorry I didn't update for a while, I don't visit the forums too often. :P Anyway, I found a solution! I put all of the Forge files in the bin(manual install), and I enabled any additional mods with Magic Launcher. It worked! It's a little late due to 1.6, however :(

    As it looks so far, I think it's a problem with Forge. Magic Launcher hasn't had an update after 1.5.1 came out, so it must be Forge. However, I tried multiple versions of Forge, yet I had no luck.

    Hi everyone, I downloaded Forge from the official website. Since I have no clue how to manually install mods, I have to use Magic Launcher. So I check "minecraftforge-universal-1.5.1-", and log in as usually.

    While Forge is loading, a window pops up saying "There was a fatal error starting up minecraft and FML" "Minecraft cannot launch in it's current configuration. I hit OK, and I got this crash log:

    This is strange, as Forge and Magic Launcher worked before 1.5.1. I tried checking nothing but Forge, and I even reinstalled Minecraft, yet it still doesn't work. Is it a problem with Forge, Magic Launcher, or just the way I installed it?

    Sorry if the solution is obvious, I'm a noob when it comes to mods.

    I was hoping you could use dyed leather to make unique villagers, so I was quite suprised when I found this bug. I hope Noppes fixes this. Meanwhile, gray caps look nice on female villagers if you're trying to make a medieval town.

    I never tried a snapshot, but most of the new sounds are good so far. The only ones I don't like is the sand, gravel, and cows, but I'll get used to those.

    Swamps were always useful. If you have enough dirt and a diamond axe, you will have plenty of flat land for building. Slimes spawning on the surface and possible free potions make swamps even better!

    1.3 didn't add too much new content. 1.4, on the other hand, looks awesome.

    Wheat Blocks- They will make farms look more realistic. They could be rotatable like logs, so you can use them to make a roof.

    Flamethrowers- You can activate it with redstone. Useful for dungeons.

    Pianos, Harps, and Drums- You can use it to play music. Maybe we can use flutes, trumpets, ect. as portable instruments!

    Tape Recorders- You can find tapes in dungeons. When you place a tape in this block, it will play the mob's sound when activated with redstone.

    Paths- You can use dirt, sand, gravel, and cobblestone. It's a 3D block, but you can walk through it.

    TVs and Cameras- Based off of the unused block in PE. When you place a camera, use redstone to connect it to a TV.

    Computers- You can check the time and weather, but that's not the only thing; You can make your own websites, and all players are able to view it on their computer! If you don't like Multiplayer, you can buy blocks and items online. There could even be a database similar to Minecraft wiki, showing crafting recipies, mob behavior, and more!

    Console- Simply hook it up to your TV. You can play minigames on it.

    Coal- Similar to paths, but you can warm it up. Hot coal slowly damages the player! If you use redstone, the damage rate is increased!

    Concrete- Mostly decorative.

    Great idea. Spawning bunches of Enderdragons using Single Player Commands is fun, but it's not destructive enough for me! If I could play as a dragon, I could aim at those stupid Testificates!

    BFT was my favorite Minecraft server. It was a great faction server, but players complained about griefers. The admins replaced it with a peaceful Tekkit server. Now I must move on. Are there any similar servers? If not, please suggest a decent faction server. Thanks.

    I was playing what used to be my favorite faction server. There was nothing but a circus and a hard-to-climb tower. No griefing was allowed. Just when I was going to leave, somebody set the tent on fire! I'm pretty sure it was protected...

    If you're going to add bronze, you should also add limestone and steel. Smelting limestone with iron creates a steel ingot, which can be used for armor and tools. You should also add mithril, which is rare as diamond. Since diamonds are extremely rare in real life, you should make diamonds ever harder to find. To make Minecraft realistic, weaker materials could have special properties. For example, you could use silver to easily kill the undead.
