Nov 30, 2014Hi,Posted in: WIP Mods
This mod for 1.4.6 does spawn you randomly in X and Z coordinates -500 to 500 instead of your fixed spawn point. Beds are disabled. This mechanic shall make the game harder and create an incentive to build some outposts in your world.
It's considered WIP because you can spawn in water and can kill yourself to respawn until you have a spawn point you like.
Installation: Put gm.class in minecraft.jar and delete META-INF there. Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/sqc1i3qt0e5iqsx/Random_Respawn.zip
I have included the source code. You can do with the mod everything Mojang allows.
I have the idea from http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1272992-better-than-wolves-now-with-blunt-force-trauma. It's called "Hardcore Spawning" there. The oldest thread I saw with this mod is http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1280024-1-2-5-randomly-moved-spawnpoint-v0-8-0-3. A Forge version for 1.6.2 is http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1291888-mods-by-phreak-nation.

I'm sure a modder could whip something up that does that, although it wouldn't be nearly as good as the version in BTW because it doesn't stand alone in BTW. It is great because of it's relationship to the removal of beds, hardcore of darkness, hardcore info, hardcore hunger, hardcore movement, rarer iron, stratification, and a bunch of other features. Hardcore spawning is what it is because of all those. It'd be like taking the nice rear-view mirror from a lexus and strapping it onto your tricycle. I mean, it still lets you behind you, but it's not really the same thing anymore.
Yes I am aware of this, but the most important feature is removal of beds, which my all time favorite mod I use already does:
Nov 7, 2014Is the feature "Hardcore Spawning" isolated from the rest so I can take its Class file to my minecraft.jar? It's such a nice feature that encourages building ! In my opinion it's worth a seperate mod, but my search ddn't bring up anything. I would like to have it for 4.41 because I am stuck with Minecraft 1.4.6, but the download link for this version is set to private.Posted in: Minecraft Mods

Various versions before (incl. 1.4.6 and 1.6.4):
I hope you notice that the leaves in 1.4.6 are a lot more aerial/airy, the other way round 1.7.10 leaves are more dense, especially the distant ones. I liked the 1.4.6 leaves much much more and I am asking how to bring them back ? Has somebody noticed this too ?
Sep 22, 2014Hansebenger posted a message on [v3.7] AMIDST - Strongholds, Village, Biome, Etc. Finder. [1.7.4]I did a test with AMIDST 3.6 and Minecraft 1.7.10.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
I teleported to 20 villages AMIDST showed. 12 were existing.
That is a success rate of 60% for village finding !
Just wanted to let you know because i was interested myself
Jul 19, 2014Hi,Posted in: Mods Discussion
I would like to have a Better Grass mod (You know, grass texture for the side of grass blocks with adjacent grass block) for Minecraft 1.7.2 with Forge and many mods (so I can't use Optifine or MCPatcher). Is there a simple Forge mod avaliable ?
Feb 22, 2014Hansebenger posted a message on Epic Siege Mod - Extremely deadly mob AI for hardcore players [1.7.10, 1.10.2]I have just played version 8.0 of ESM for several hours. I noticed that mobs have weird pathfinding in caves, sometimes not going through 1x2 holes which led me to do some tests:Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Awareness 32, X-Ray on. Made a save in a cave as initial situation. Stand still and fighted back all incoming mobs for 5 minutes. Repeated several times with different minecraft versions.
1) In 1.5.2 with ESM 8.0: less than 1 incoming mob in average
2) In 1.4.6 with ESM 6.1: 8 incoming mobs in average
I have tested both with or without Optifine and get the same results.
So if you want to revive this mod some time you should start with 6.1 as base version ?
For all gamers out there who want the best ESM experience:
ESM v6.1 is still the best mod for a challenging Minecraft !
Jan 4, 2014Hey,Posted in: Modification Development
I've always wanted a mod that makes Day Night cycle 3x as slow. (Only affecting light level outside, not plant growing etc).
Unfortunately because of a mod I am stuck with 1.4.6, no Forge, no Modloader, so I have to code myself.
I have set up MCP properly and changed all 24000 numbers in WorldProvider.java to 2400.
Day Night Cycle seems now to pass 10x as fast, Zombies appearing in night and burning at day, plants growing normally.
Now my question is: Was this really so easy ? Have I forgotten an aspect ? What should I test additionally ?
