If I don't like the color of a specific wood, I convert it to charcoal. Problem solved.

Yeah, there are some users who like to scam others.

Pfft, like someone would waste $400 on a VIRTUAL ITEM... (but of course, this is humanity we're talking about, so people probably would gladly waste $200,000,000 for a virtual item that you can barely see just because "it's limited/unique")

The first on-line game I played was called "Project Entropy" at the time... It's still around but they've since finished beta and changed the name. I think it's "Entropy Universe" now.

The point is that the game's currency was directly tied to the US dollar... You could buy 10 in-game credits for one dollar. The unique thing was that you could SELL 10 game credits for 1 dollar real life cash as well.

While I was playing they opened a new "Island Continent on the single world that was available at the time (Last I checked there were 5 separate worlds) and put it up for auction. Someone bought a virtual island for $380,000.00!

However, the person who bought it had full rights... Real Estate. mineral, hunting/fishing licenses, etc. and as the rest of the world was completely owned by players, any individual wanting a homestead or Guild wanting a Guild Manor had to buy the land from him at his prices... If they wanted to big game hunt on the island, they had to buy licenses from him, or pay game enforced poaching penalties, same if they wanted to mine on his island. I'm guessing he made a tidy profit eventually, since the game is still going.

posted a message on Can Macs and PCs play LAN?
If both systems use tcp/IP they should be able to work. With the proper router hardware they wouldn't even have to be on Ethernet... One could be using Token Ring, for example, as long as it was still tcp/IP.

The only way it wouldn't work is if the Mac could only run AppleTalk, and I don't even know if Apple still supports it.

No, you can't. Mojang owns the rights for Vanilla MC.

Mod creators own the rights to their work, and most make their work freely available to the playing public.

Unless you are using a mod that is NOT available to the public there's no leg to stand on, and even then it's the mod's creator that has the ability to do anything, not you.

    Quote from grommen

#1 Maverick is the name of Tom Cruse's character in Top Gun, his RIO (Co Piolet) was named Goose (US military uses nicknames), It was quoted in the movie "I fly, Goose just sits in the back and pedals."

Sadly it's not a good joke if I have to explain it. I withdraw my comment :)

And now I just dated myself.

#2 What is this apple program Maverick? If it has anything to do with open GL, Mojang recently messed with open GL. So that might be your problem.

In my case my frame rates drop like that when I turn ON open GL, however I'm using a PC.

I knew the answer, you just disqualified me in the OP by specifying "under 30".

First movie I ever walked out on and demanded a refund, btw.

So far I tested with a regular, unenchanted rod, and an Unbreaking III, Lure III, Luck of the Sea III rod. While there is a noticeable difference between unenchanted and enchanted rods, it is not as pronounce as I thought it would (or should) be. I'm seriously wondering if enchanting rods is not a waste of time seeing you can get lots of cool loot with a regular rod (and part of that loot will be composed of enchanted rods...).

I started with a non enchanted rod... 3rd item I "caught" was a 90% good Unbreaking III/Luck of the Sea II rod which I switched to. After 3 game-days I have 3 saddles, lots of fish and I caught a pair of leather boots I put on because I have no armor.

posted a message on Should minecraft be made into a movie?
    Quote from ethanhenare1

I took a look at all of your posts and I can see that almost all of you are saying no. Most of you are saying no because you say that Minecraft is a open ended sandbox game and it doesn't have a main story-line but as one of you pointed out that lego have made many, many movies and although lego isn't a video game it is open ended and doesn't really have a main story-line. Plus there are fan groups like Dig Build Live that have made some pretty good minecraft movies and they are amateur video makers (besides getting money from YouTube).

actually I guess you are right.

Do you have a title list of all these Lego "movies" that have been released? There have been plenty of Lego games based on other action movies, like Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Batman, etc. but cut scenes in a video game don't count, nor do Direct to Video productions, if any exist.

The upcoming Lego Major Motion Picture to be released in theaters is the only one I know of to date.
    Quote from Els236

To be honest, I always wanted Empire Earth and Command & Conquer to be made into movies, but no one ever did - so, just like with Minecraft, there is probably a very good reason no one will make a movie of these games.

There have been several video game based movies in the last few years but I can't name them because that's how memorable they were.

posted a message on 1.7 Ruins PvP
    Quote from Taizz

Not only was I surprised that someone besides me was complaining about 1.7 PVP, but the fact that someone else on these goddamn forums knew and actually played Soup PVP, and what a combo was.

For all of those who don't play regularly on a Soup PvP sever, you won't understand, honestly. You can argue as much as you want, but until you've spent a good few months on a server like this, you won't understand.

1.7 completely obliterates PVP, as it is basically adding in a sprint hack, like BetterSprinting. Again, anyone who plays Soup PVP will understand how much of an impact this mod/hack has, and why it gives the player such a big advantage.

And for you, like I said before, until you play a Soup PVP server on a regular basis, you won't undertand. A good mouse and a good connection is all that's needed in Soup PVP to win. Now that we can assign almost every single event in the game to a button, and most good mice have macro buttons, PVP will be hugely affected, in a negative way. Just like the OP said, for those who don't have these types of mice, they're put at a severe disadvantage.

And no, because that would limit your finger space for hotkeying, thus wrecking the point of Soup PVP.

So you're saying it takes no skill at all to play Soup PvP?

You would be somebodies Saturday night date on some of the REAL PvP games...

You should be able to create a new profile in the launcher that loads 1.6.4 or whatever the pervious version you used, and access the other servers using that profile.

So I placed a bed in a house I made... one side of it is normal, the other side looks like this:

And yes, I removed and replaced the bed just to make sure.

Think of it as an inverse hammock... Instead of rolling with the flow it'll dump you onto the floor at the slightest breeze.

Extra points for staying in bed longer than 8 seconds.

Wow. 2 stupid jokes in the same post... I must be exited today for some reason. :D

I would probably remove bats because they drop nothing

For some mods the bats drop claws which are useful in some recipes. If you play Vanilla, they have no known use.
    Quote from RAMBOtheKILLER

i would remove ocelots, sure they are pretty cute as a cat, but kinda pointless, and overall, minecraft is a big game were it is mostly about survival in the wilderniss, when im in the wilderniss, i wouldnt even THINK about getting a cat.

Domestic cats are a great Creeper Repellant...
