posted a message on Scrollwheel Over/Undershooting?

Yes, I've definitely tested a few to be sure it wasn't the mouse, and I used another computer with its own unique account as well. It's definitely something that began after 1.13, and I can downgrade the game and have the mice always work responsively again. Every other aspect of the game works. No crashes, no glitching.

posted a message on Scrollwheel Over/Undershooting?

I thought my mouse's scrollwheel was broken, but it's only with Minecraft. I've been using this mouse since maybe 1.9 to 1.12 and have had no issues with Minecraft or any other game in this regard. Until attempting to play on 1.13 or 1.14. Switching to a family member's new gaming computer to test things didn't fix the issue either, and I tried a few mice to be sure I wasn't imagining things. It's a great experience on the right computer, I just can't scroll through my items fast and on a dime with this specific game since 1.13. It becomes a major issue when trying to do anything efficiently in the game, including combat when quick-switching from pickaxe to sword, bow, food, etc.

What info should I ask for with the new computer, since mentioning the old one has only gotten when I first noticed this on 1.13.2 got "stay on 1.12" or "install new OS" in reply? The new computer is a Mac running Mojave, I know that much at least.

posted a message on Private Messages Still Inaccessible

It's been probably a year since I started having issues getting to my old private messages here, and a bit under that, I was unable to ever access them again. I was told a while back that this was a known error that was being worked on, given a temp link that isn't even a real workaround, but a year without a solution? Must be something that complicated where the message centre of a forum is this broken. It tries to load, but all that ever shows up is the error message:

    Error

Sorry, an error occurred while processing your request.

posted a message on mobs not respawning

I'm unsure if it's the same issue, but myself and one other had this issue. Now, I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff, but I fixed it by downloading NBTExplorer from this forum and altering the "mob spawning" line. Minecraft, for some unknown reason, had set both our worlds to "Mob Spawning=false". No hostile mobs ever spawned for months of various in-game experiments until I manually changed that line to 'true.' Hope this helps.

PS: I should probably say where that line's hidden:

Your World Name Folder -> level.dat -> Data: XX entries -> GameRules: XX entries -> doMobSpawning: true

Click on the line, click Edit at the top of the app, type "true" then click Save up at the top.

posted a message on Got an old Mac? We need your help!

My issue is not that I can't get it to run. It runs, though a tiny bit laggy, and blocks sometimes do not break until many tries. After a half hour of 1.13.2 running, the block breaking issue seems to just...go away on one world. The other worlds I just had to delete. Strange.

One of two primary issues with mine:

    1. the GUI is off by half a space down. Even logging into the game has an off hitbox to hit the buttons. You want to grab that coal in your inventory, but suddenly you're holding a spider eye from the box below... This makes crafting tedious, to say the least.
    2. I thought my mouse's scrollwheel was broken, but it's 1.13.2. You're mining with a pickaxe in position 8 on the hotbar, and you scroll for that sword real quick when the zombie shows up, but your scrollwheel doesn't respond! Again, you scroll for that sword, but instead it only scrolls over to position 5 instead of all the way to position 2. Again, you scroll -as the zombie is eating you- more forcefully this time to push the scrollwheel to 2, but it overshoots, and now it's back around to position 8. And you're dead.

Again, no lag, but 1.13 is unplayable in this way, and I'm not the first one to point this issue out. Also, chests no longer link up in 1.13? They stack for me still, but they do not link. Rows of single-inventory chests. I've seen that one in a video here or there as well.

    1. I do not have crashing upon launch.
    2. Mac mini (Late 2012)

      2.3 GHz Intel Core i7

      16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB

    3. Model Identifier: Macmini6,2
    4. Chipset Model: Intel HD Graphics 4000

posted a message on NBTExplorer - NBT Editor for Windows and Mac

I discovered what the problem was and have since fixed both worlds using NBTE. As said, or some reason, even when set to Hard and night, hostile mobs did not spawn ever. Because the game set mob spawning to false, and somehow, it was stuck that way.

    ...

I don't even know how that happens, but there it was. Both are now set to true, and the game is working perfectly normal again. The other whose world was broken for nearly a year was able to fix his world as well because of this same strange issue.

    Thank you once again, NBTE!

posted a message on NBTExplorer - NBT Editor for Windows and Mac

Thank you so much for this! After I opened my 1.12 world after so long, it bizarrely forgot I'd created it with cheats enabled. We can now fly again, so thanks!

I have a question now. After updating my 1.2 world to 1.12 and going to a new chunk location for the updates, no hostile mobs spawn on any difficulty. Is there something NBE can modify outside of difficulty that will bring hostiles back? It's so Peaceful, and I'm starting to hate it. Something broke. This also happened to another's 1.9 world when updated to 1.12.

posted a message on Can't get to my inbox

An update to say it still isn't working after nearly one month. The link provided above will only work for new messages in an inbox. Everything else is inaccessible, and if you click on anything at that link and try to click back, the error message will occur again, and you will now lose all your new messages and the information they had in them. They'll now be marked as read and hidden within the error.

posted a message on LF other female Minecraft players [Mature][Survival][Easy][Vanilla][Discord]

Hey there! I got your message and figured I'd drop you a line here to say I'm interested! Female-only is a bit unusual, never heard of not allowing men in, but it sounds like you have a couple of guys along for the ride. lol But the maturity level sounds refreshing. Don't get me wrong, some of the BEST people I know from mc are teen players, but it's a mixed bag with more bad than good for sure. All you need is one bad kid being made a moderator out of classmate politics for the whole server to turn awkward.

About me: I'm 32, married, don't take myself too seriously, have a ridiculous, pun-filled sense of humor, but I can be very quiet when first meeting people (wouldn't know it from this, lol). Still, chatting during gameplay would be amazing instead of typing, 'cause dying while typing "me too lol" hastily is kinda sucky. I'm being honest in my typing style here, since you asked for "maturity," and that seems a highly subjective thing, as in I possibly fail your standards. I can get quirky and have no objections to silliness at all, and I've also been confused as a man for my more natural typing style on occasion ("Yo, what up?"). I hope I can control my occasional swearing as well, since it sounds like your lot are more of an upstanding bunch, but hopefully minor things (or at least minor where I work) like "d**n" and "oh my g*d" are allowed. The kind of words you'd hear in kids' films like Secret of Nimh or Coraline. Again, I might just simply fail your standards if that ever slipped accidentally in chat, so I'd rather let it be known here. I casually use minor swears without thinking!

As for the main subject, Minecraft, I've been playing since the birch tree was considered new. Egads! Could be older than the "playing for 8 years" I posted on the Searching For thread. I didn't start paying attention to version numbers until some time later.

I find I've enjoyed sometimes coming into town on servers, but I very much enjoy making a home of my own on some hilltop, getting a feeling of being in wilderness near civilization. It's always been a dream to live in a place like that, and I guess I bring that into my mc gameplay. That or I'm just too used to playing Survival on my own in complete isolation!

My builds are nothing mega or impressive. The largest was a small mansion I could never seem to get the resources to make properly. I'm a casual Survival player, commonly ending up with pleasant-looking wooden structures but also don't mind grinding away in a mine, you know, playing the game. Still, I like building, coming up with new shape ideas that'll work in a blocky world and seeing the progress others have made on their builds. I also seem to be a resource finder for others, to the point where if someone needs something and I kind've have enough, I won't for very long. XD <---(I hope emoticons aren't condemnable either, 'cause I just love using 'em!) So yeah, like I said, I do like joining in on community builds sometimes for that true community sense, but I hope enjoying striking out on my own doesn't get me voted off the island...

Anyway, do let me know if I passed your test of a worthy minecraft companion.

As on the shout-out thread, again, my Discord is GypsyIpsum#5962.

posted a message on Need a friend to play Minecraft with? Click here!

    Hey ther KP,

I didn't ask that detail, but I myself have been unable to look at any old messages to look over potential worlds to inhabit for at least 3 weeks now. I can see anything new, if I'm lucky. When I first came here, all seemed well, so I used that as the main way to contact me, but now....

ANYway, thank you for the updated convo! I'll only be able to look at it at least once, hopefully at least once.

posted a message on Need a friend to play Minecraft with? Click here!

New post to say I'm still trying to find a friendly, stable server that is Vanilla 1.12 possibly going to 1.13.

    • Minecraft Username: GypsyIpsum
    • Platform you play on (PC/XBox/Etc.): PC Java
    • Age: 32
    • Gender: Female
    • Country/Timezone: US Eastern
    • How someone should contact you: Discord as GypsyIpsum#5962
    • How long you've been playing Minecraft: Since maybe 2010 but very casual up to 1.8, lots of new things to learn with 1.12!
    • Some things that you like to do on the game: mainly explore, getting into builds a bit after watching Grian's tutorials
    • Any additional things you want to say: I like to build/play casual survival with a good bunch of people. Once more, Vanilla servers only. If I get one more ad for a vanilla world that's actually not and is modded to craziness, I'm going to go nuts! lol

PS: If you see this and already sent me an invite to my inbox here on the forums, I can't see them 'cause an admin here told me the message system is broken.

Well shank, the hundredth time I try and AFTER I'm done posting this, I got in! Hopefully I won't have the usual follow up of "Nope, it was a fluke, it's broken again," tech reply.

posted a message on Can't get to my inbox

I've been trying for a couple days now to get back into my mailbox to reply to potential servers accepting me (require arranging a Skype interview first). It worked the day before enough to go to one request.

I see there are two new messages now, and I can't access it no matter how many times I've tried.

After a jammed progress bar for about 30 sec each time, I keep getting the message:

    Error
