Yes that's exactly what I was trying to convey. Yeah finish your pack your way by all means.when you're done if you want to add more to the blue stone pack that'll be cool but I know you've got a long way to go before the original pack will be done. You're doing great so far.

Azanor posted a message on Thaumcraft 6.1.BETA26 [no longer being developed]Posted in: Minecraft ModsI thought I'd give you guys a progress update on TC5.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to work on it much the past 2 weeks thanks to RL work stuff. I have however managed to work out how to render most TC4 stuff in the MC 1.8 renderer, though some sacrifices had to be made. It is also not possible as far as I know to do certain kinds of animations in the new engine - goodbye wand waving animation.
Essentia Tube rendering turned out to be a real PITA, but I have that mostly figured out as well.
All in all I would say I am about 50% done, but things will hopefully go faster now that I have figured out the quirks with MC 1.8. Making old blocks and items work in 1.8 is mostly just boring dog-work and not particularly taxing. What takes the longest is redoing their models - often I even need to redo their textures.
Major changes I have implemented so far is the removal of the "scanning for RP" mechanic and the changes to the aura and nodes. I still need to implement a new scanning mechanic and fiddle with the Thaumonomicon GUI's quite a bit to allow for more addon tabs and some other stuff.
I also still have a big rework of golems left to do as well, but I am going to leave that for very last.
While I could release some teaser videos, there is honestly nothing to tease at the moment. Almost everything I have done so far is just to make old stuff work in 1.8. The only "new" stuff is the arcane levitator changes which I have already shown, and the new nodes which isn't quite ready to be shown yet. Don't worry, once there is more to tease I will start teasing it
Edit: Oh, also with the changes to the aura and such vis costs in wands and other things have been completely redone and rebalanced. I also removed the concept of CV - wands (on average) hold 10x the vis they previously did, but costs obviously increased as well to compensate.

I'm going to save you a lot of grief, and tell you that add-on packs are a thing now. You'll make them using the same layout as you would a normal pack, so, assets/minecraft/et cetera, but only placing the files you want to change out, say, stone, cobble, stone brick being blue. In the resource packs page in minecraft, you simply select it one level higher than your base pack and bim bam boof you've got blue stone.
As nice as this is, as nice as it is to see you continue this after 3 years, and as nice as the pack itself looks, it really has changed feel a lot from what it was. That's not bad, just, different. I'm sad to not see what you used to have. But I like the new stuff, so I can't really take a stance on that. Maybe making the fantasy add-on hearken to your old style in some way would be nice.
Seeing this after all this time, though, I immediately had to download it. (After catching up a bit, of course. ) I don't see myself using it, though it is very nice. I may make a world to build with it with, but at the moment, I feel there's just too much needing to be done. Your glowstone, for example, is a bit... Odd. I'd like to see something more practical from it. Perhaps with a touch of that bright white like the torch. Then there's the unfinished textures, which aren't much of an issue, except that many, many updates have taken place since you last worked on this pack. Of course this is a side-project, I understand that, but it really is a shame, especially since 16x default textures are quite jarring next to 32x, and there aren't any packs that I could see meshing with this one well,
So, the biggest issue I've come across is that there isn't more.
I'd also like to add that I'd love to help if you ever came up short on ideas or feel that things are getting repetitive in terms of texture, but hey, you do you. - To post a comment, please login.

This has been a decent week. Actually ran out of space for the banner image to include it all. Mostly I've been polishing existing textures.
Oak and birch planks have changed... again. Stonebricks got some much needed definition although I didnt get a chance todo the cracked varient. Bricks have finally been replaced, not sure what the old one was even doing in the pack, bleh. This is much better. Also had another shot a doing the sheep. The sheared version still needs some work but I believe the face looks better on this one. Also done my first shot at some of the GUI, the Inventory hotbar thing that's always at the bottom of the screen is in.
Side note: I'm probably going to redo jungle planks again, keeping the mossy but making them look more worn an aged.
Also a shout out to the massive amount of french traffic I've been getting the last few days. Enjoy.

Thank you very much.
Okay, so sad update this week. Had very busy 7 days. All that's new are those 5 icons you see above. Not really even worth downloading. But I didn't want to break my weekly update streak so here it is. Updates are back to normal this coming week.

For the moment I think I'm gonna go with the mossy planks. I get that it makes it less universally applicable to builds but my reasoning is that there's, what, 4 other plank types you can use for builds? But my opinion may change if I think that having mossy planks will make it too unusable.

Slow and steady. Jungle Leaves really need some loving at some point. Anyway, enjoy!

Okay new week done. Smooth stone versions for Andesite, Granite and Diorite are now in. I'm also planning on making each plank type have it's own original texture as opposed to a recolouring of the oak planks. So there's a new spruce planks now. A lot of the 'blocks of...' blocks have been improved. I think I did, gold, coal, iron and diamond, also adding in the emerald block. And I've changed birch foliage colours... again.

Oh lord, look at all those textures still needing to be done. Thank you muchly, I'm very slack at the taking of screenshots. I think I'd prefer to avoid using screenshots that show the vanilla textures in them though.
Anywho, another week done. This one's pretty boring unfortunately. Busy week with uni and moving house. The plus side is that you may notice that there's now an add-on sections with the blue stone version available. I'm a little unsure on it. The colour isn't as rich as in the olden day pack but I think this better fits the other soft textures. But yea, let me know what you think.

Oh jesus! I keep forgetting about diorite, granite and anthessisissis- whatever it is. I keep reverting back to 1.7 Minecraft for mods and forget about many of the new textures. As for the polished blocks, yes I'll be making them more unique with bolder colours, it was just for the unpolished ones that I wanted to try to keep the differences subtle-ish so as to merge better with smooth stone. Having said that I want to improve the unpolished blocks a bit too so they're more easily identifiable as what they are.
I'll bump those up on my priority list, thanks for reminding me.
As for prismarine stuff, they'll probably be done much further down the line along with nether blocks. Can happily say the the furnace texture finally has a burning texture now too. Thank god. I had put that one off for far too long. Minecart stuff I haven't really got to. The basic rail texture is only there because of a test I was doing. Since the texture exists I thought I might as well leave it in the pack. But I should be getting to the minecart stuff in the next few weeks, so not too far away. As for the trapped chest I didn't actually realise that had its own separate texture. I'll fix that now, thanks.
Thank you very much. I'm glad you like.

Yea I remember back then trying and never working out how to make the blue work with the planks. It was just so clashy. This helped in prompting the change away from it. The other problem was structures made of the stone felt really cold which wasn't the feeling I wanted....
.... that was the feeling I wanted. So I'm glad you think so and thanks.
Either still brown or a swirling mix of the two. With that said I think I need to change mushrooms a little. They're a little too vibrant for this pack. And thanks for the feedback.

Ugh what a disgusting week. Uni, moving house and being sick all in one. Nevertheless, new textures!

Another week bites the dust.
