posted a message on Dirt underground
I've always noticed a pattern with the increased appearance of resources when I find deep pockets of dirt. I also assumed this was already known. Getting those deep dirt pockets closer to actual bedrock, I even find larger varieties. Not too uncommon to find gold, iron, redstone, diamond and coal, lining a single dirt pocket way down there. My main save is above a super-intricate series of natural caverns that are seemingly endless and I was always getting lost when exploring.

Since these are your forums, do w/e you want with them. It seems as though you just want to keep them running smoothly and perhaps improve on them as the game itself improves. (still in ALPHA!) When I played WoW, I visited curse every time a new patch/update came to get the add-ons that I needed (crutches!) to raid/pvp. I found myself there only at those times and never got any viruses or issues with any content from that site. It was streamlined and easy to maneuver. I never was much of a forum person, but i never played a game in it's early development stages, either. So i find myself in these forums more, only because of the nature of this stage of a game. Which makes me wonder how some of you get to 2k, 3k, .. 5k posts!? Do you ever PLAY the game you are posting about? Sleep/eat/****?

Damnit. You guys sold out. This must explain the giant ad banners. I also checked out curse's privacy policy, and what did I find? They never said they keep your information private, and, in fact, they even stated that they share your information with third party advertisers.

Nothing is private anymore. I have 2 email addresses, 1 for the world, and 1 "serious" one for resume's/job apps. You cannot hide from advertisement. Everyone has something to sell. Just running your eyes across something that someone is selling is money in the bank, to them. This is the way of things as of now, and, fortunately, Minecraft is a WONDERFUL escape from that.

Maybe someone should warn Notch about the possible incoming traffic, XD.

Likely he's prepared for another influx of sales, apparently it's slowed down as of late. Here's a bit of his recent
Interview in case some of you missed it.

How about 2 glass spheres that are 1/2 inside, 1/2 outside the mountain? Then put little round ends on the tips of them, protruding out slightly.. preferably redstone torches. You can make them really big, really small, puffy, perky, or, for kicks, make them sag and hang real low.

Know what those little bumps around a nipple are for?

    Braille for "suck here".

posted a message on Clothing Options/XP-based?
First, I hate forums. Second, you forum folk scare me. Third, I have no patience to peruse all the suggestions to find if this idea, that just popped in my brain, is already around here or not. If it is, then this post won't last long or will get lost in obscurity. Fourth, I still love MC, even tho I started playing much later than most of you, so that's why I'm tossing this idea out there. I don't care about any original "credit", just hoping the inception of the idea can spurn some "snowball effect" with the creativity a lot of you have that feeds this great game.
With that said, my suggestion is as follows:

Clothing to dress up like preexisting creatures

Why? Fun! In the case of cows, chickens, sheep..
What about aggressive mobs? Sure! Even more fun.

The idea, however, would be more of an experienced-based system. I was originally thinking that, perhaps killing a quota of a certain creature would net you the "anatomical knowledge" of it. But, at the same time, maybe just utilizing a larger quantity of whatever loot that particular creature drops in conjunction with cloth to create said outfit. Of course, those who farm materials with their ingenious trap systems would have all the costumes within the first few minutes.. which would negate both, unless your traps don't count as "your kill", moreover a "environmental hazard".
Not only would dressing up as a creeper be fun, but you could also utilize a costume as a way for survival. Give it some uses, like armor, tho it has no defense value. Maybe just a time limit to each use. You can sneak amongst creatures if you looked just like them. But it could wear off after a while.

The reason I suggest this is because it really isn't adding anything to the game other than what is already available except the whole "experience" thing, which I would have no clue as to how to implement anyways. This is mostly a "adventure/explore" suggestion, because that's the part of the game I enjoy the most. The creating is fun, but if you aren't that creative of a person ( some of you people are AMAZING! ), some of us really like to explore the vast world and caverns. And, of course, whenever SMP can hold it's own... well...Have you ever played a spy in Team Fortress Classic?

    Constructive/Destructive Criticism?
Or just take my idea and make it your own. I just want to see something like it implemented.

Remember, Notch says to "not get too attached to your saves."! The world I spent most of my time on as of late wasn't much too look at from the get-go, either. Spawn was a neat little "pond" of :sand: in a :grass: valley. made a :soil: house to start out on the highest side and dug down during the night, explored during the day. Turns out, the exploring was best done inside the earth, so many natural deep caverns, like swiss cheese. easily find lots of :Lava: & :obsidian: to make a portal so I can quickly find far away natural formations and biomes. Don't give up on your current bland worlds! :iapprove:

posted a message on MINECRAFT IS SCARY
I agree about the skeletons, or just the bow sound. Opening a container with bow equipped makes me jump every time, too. But when I first started playing, I would stream a local radio station and have the game music off (need more music choices, Notch!). About the same time, a new Neil Young song was released and I would hear it quite frequently while I played, and I had no idea that a sound effect from his song *wasn't* a creeper in the game. I even made a thread about it when I found these forums not long ago.

    WoW flashbacks/withdrawls. Damn you!

Flashbacks for me, yes, withdrawls... No. *has flashback of falling out of a window because it looked like a doorway to a downward ramp... LOLs* *sigh* The only real good time I had, WoW's no fun for me, it's all trolls now.

Agreed. Let my 6month recurring expire this year. That games' environment has gone down the toilet.. or I'm a jaded gamer. I don't have the creativity for something like this, even tho you may not be able to call duplicating something "creative", you are still to be commended for the undertaking! Thanks for the reminder of that which took up so much of my life.

Suggestions of Org or Dalaran aside, I'll put in my request for MC-MC! (minecraft-molten core!)

    Kudos! :Diamond:
