I actually get this problem when trying to play Minecraft on my netbook in Windows 7, but not on the same computer in Windows XP. So I'm guessing it may have something to do with Windows 7 at the moment.
Probably something to do with Java, integrated cards, and Windows 7 all colliding in a great big charlie foxtrot of incompatiblity.
