I think the reason Mojang is giving us all these meaningless/small Snapshots is because they're working on something huge behind the scenes.They're just giving us these small updates so we don't get suspicious...Perhaps they're working on the Red Dragon, since no one figured out what the meaning of that dragon egg was in that one Snaapshot, maybe it was just a hint on what they were working on. They might also be working on something huge for biomes/world gemeration....ya know,what the name of this update is! The last several Snapshots have had nothing to do with what the whole update is supposed to be.
They could be adding seasons.... they said they were working on it... -

Alright, nine days remaining, so if you want to submit a texture, you've got just over a week to do so.
BTW, on NetherX news, when/if NetherX 1.8 comes out, it will probably be recoded meaning tons of new features and updated AI on the mobs.

Sorry guys, but don't worry though, the update is coming, for both 1.6 and 1.7 (and 1.8 soon :D).
And yes, the mod is compatible with Better Dungeons.

For sure there will be an update before Saturday this week.
@Shinhoto - Magma squids were an early idea, which I may implement later - they were the original way you could obtain magma crystals. Tame gluttons also was an idea I had a while back (I may still add them). The present-gluttons are actually in the game, but you have to set your computer's date to December 25th to see them. :3
Oh, and malite was the original name of venomite, and quartz torches were removed in favor of glowstone torches (which I think makes more sense, though you might see them in the future).
@Shado47 - Cool idea! I could add something like that after this update...
@ColinAV - What would you suggest?

One - could you make this mod modular? Meaning for example let's say you wanted to keep your house feeling medieval, and didn't want the electronic part of the mod, you could disable it?
Also, do you think that you could make it possible to disable the update checker - it can get quite annoying when you have over a hundred mods all trying to tell you that an update is out...
Otherwise, great job.

The update should be out quite soon, and as soon as it's out for 1.6.4 I'll update to 1.7 (which shouldn't take more than a day).

Sorry about being so unresponsive - I've been really busy recently. Luckily I'm not anymore, so I can get back to doing some coding.
About the upcoming update, I've already massively improved the Ghast Queen boss fight, as well as given it a boss health bar. I've done a lot of other tweaks, as well as started working on a NetherX API.
I am also planning on adding a new boss - The Leviathan.
Plus there will now be inferno spider dungeon/nest like structures, new blocks, new items, and more, as well as a really creepy thing which I'm going to keep secret for now.
I'm also going to make NetherX more modular, so you can disable the features you don't like.
I am thinking this will be my last update for 1.6.4... what do you guys think?
Also, do you have any suggestions for ideas/things you want me to change?
EDIT: Oh, and configurable biomes are planned as well.
I was thinking of posting a pre-release for all you guys to try out...would you like that?
